  1. the old adage " a fool and his money are easily parted" applies anywhere in the world but some places it is more predominant.....thailand CAN be like that.

    re negative postings on here:

there are some sorry arse bastards out there that regularly post their miserable views full of rudeness and denigration for the thais...usually they're Poms who have a genetic disposition for moaning anyway.....they can't crack it back in their own countries so they limp out here and feel more important about themselves because it's cheaper living etc... but nevertheless they enjoy haunting a local bar over a flat beer and then coming home to their lonely house and bitch and moan on here...thailand is a great country but caveat emptor!!

  2. many thanks to all the posters above for such good info...i suspected that by the time i came up to thai and got initial work done and then went home and then came back to get it finalised would p/ly work out not much different in the prices here after taking airfares into account...thanks everyone

  3. Greetings one and all and happy new year etc

I know this has been asked before but i really need to be accurate in making a decision as to whether i should fly to thailand ( been there before) and get a couple of dental implants.

so much can go wrong anywhere like infection, wrong setting etc etc. but there are cowboys in the LOS as we all know..

have any of you got any feedback on the best places to get this done and some pointers on what may go wrong...have any of you had negative experiences with this type of dental work?.....i guess getting done over by amateurs is my biggest fear ( and i don't mean by night :-) ) )

i live in new zealand and it's about 240,000 baht to get implants done here i.e. $ 6k kiwi. so there'd be big savings coming to Thai.

    all feedback much appreciated.

    cheers

  4. btw Kata Beach on Phuket is still a great place to stay...Patong is what it is....never go near the tuk -tuks and walk carefully after midnight....but in the day there really isn't much point in being there as the beach is pretty crap and there's not a lot happening....i saw a survey a few weeks back where 79% of thais accepted corruption and had a slide scale of what was agood or bad corruption.

one told me they knew thaksin was corrupt but he was GOOD corrupt which sorta makes sense in a thai way...live and let live..

  5. i had the same problem for years and then i started taking 2 Mg of melatonin around 10.30 ( same time important ) each night and within 1/2 hour ready to fall asleep.

we humans get 2 rounds of REM deep sleep in the night cycle and the first is within 90 minutes of falling asleep..melatonin ensures you at least get the first one....the second round is usually around 5 am so you may miss that but melatonin is a natural hormone produced by the pineal gland and it diminishes with age so tis supplement def. helps....it also has many other positive side effects

  6. All this poor guy is asking is where and how can he meet a decent ,everyday thai girl to take out on a date and maybe get to know!

i've seen this answered many times before on here without all this crap you're throwing at this harmless guy...jeez...give him a break.

Op..go to thaimusings.com..heaps of answers there.

  7. i've travelled thailand a lot and have been to jomtien for a week last year.

in my opinion there is absolutley no comparison between jomtien and kata beach...jom. is just a laidback version of the human rubbish dump known as pattaya which is just over the hill....jom. beach full of rubbish, not that good for swimming and is unsafe after dark as the katoeys lurk in the shadows waitng to ??? you.

kata beach is cruisey, laidback, clean, has lots of good little restaurants, great beach and it just goes on....in fact, kata beach and chiang mai the north are my two favourite parts of thailand.

if you're hanging out in kata you can pay 500bht and go over the hill to patong beach and party your heart out in the go-go bars etc...but patong is like manhattan in comparison to the downtown harlem/detroit of pattaya.

go to phuket/kata...you defintiely won't regret it....i know these things..enjoy it.

it's no accident that Club Med have chosen to locate their Thai resort on Kata Beach...

  8. hi

anyone got any personal recommendations for some local, non-touristy seafood restaurants on phuket island?

i'm looking for place near the sea that sells really fresh local seafood, great quality and fair prices..thanks you-all!

  9. i s'pose i had this fantasy about meeting a nice lady...aaah, forget it...you guys have woken me up to reality....guess i knew it anyway but the condom is like getting jiggy with a packet of potato chips when it comes to feeling so???

  10. great answers so far, guys.

i agree with what you say, crazy pauly...i've been all over thailand half a dozen times over the last few years as a traveller and only once hooked up with a B girl which wasn't very inspiring....can't seem to get my head around the concept?!

i'd love to get involved with a funloving, educated Thai lady and look after them whilst glidin' around the LOS...but when you're only in the country for around a month how is that ever likely to happen?

    any thoughts ?

  11. if you meet a girl that you like, maybe at a bar, and you want to to take her travelling with you...what is the way of getting her checked out for any transmittable diseases without being offensive.

it would be good to clarify the situation and maybe not use a condom.

i ask this question with respect.

    khup

  12. man, i've been around and been in many tight situations but some of the wanke_rs that regularly post their anti-thailand " i'm a cool dude" crap on here about anything relating to thailand just makes me want to track them down and skin them.

if you don't like being here then buggar off back to your own rathole country..probably the u.k!

  13. the main thing you have to be careful of is not to get sucked into online marketeers offering you a solution to your google rankings and then using what google calls " black hat' techniques such as linking you to directory" farms" etc...if google blacklists you for questionable techniques which maynot be your fault from trusting turkeys, it will cripple your website forever...and you may as well pack up and go home in that instance.

blogging, google adwords CPC on $2 a day budget, article posting...all ' white hat' techniques that take longer but get you there eventually....the more times your website is mentioned in any shape or form online the more Google robots pick it up and slowly index you up.
