  1.

A1 stops at Mo Chit and that's also the final stop

A2 also stops at Mo Chit and then on to Victory Monument

A3 goes to Lumpini Park but does stop close to CentralWorld

A4 goes to KaoSan Road, I don't think it has any drop-offs near a BTS or MRT hub.

I know for Mo Chit it's 30 baht but maybe 45 if you're going further. The buses use the expressway from the airport to blow past traffic, on average 15 minutes to Chatuchak Park (Mo Chit).

Over the past few years they have also upgraded the rolling stock from the Orange A/C busses to newer blue buses that actually have disabled access and seating too.

As long as you're travelling pretty light, it's super convenient.

  2. There seems to have been some changes recently with what the TCT accept and they now seem to be pushing (expensive) M.Ed courses being run at 3 different Thai Unis and not accepting other Masters and PGCEs.

A colleague has just finished his Nottingham PGCEi, remains to be seen if gets over the line with the MoE.

This could be carnage in a couple of years when those with expiring Licenses on previously recognized qualifications try to renew.

  3. I've had True IDTV boxes for a couple of years, not too many complaints. I have the package for EPL so in terms of Live TV I use it for that.

But I also have lots of other apps available via the google play store on there such as Netflix, HBO and Disney.

Best of all, I've got an app for my other IPTV service for picking up UK and other channels

Also very good as a media player if you want to plug in a hard drive or USB stick with movies on it. (I'd recommend adding VLC or another media player to handle those files)

Not tied to AIS only. You can get freely for 99 baht a month directly on their site, no matter which telecom you use, if any. I am only trying it for one show from National Geographic... not sure it'll be available, but it not, I've only thrown away 400 baht for one year, which is very cheap for a lesson.

Pleasantly to my surprise, I powered up my True Box today and the Disney+ App was advertised on the homepage. It took a little while before HBO and even Netflix had their apps available on the True box.

Also, I was really impressed with the amount of content, for that price of 799 a year, I was only expecting all the Disney stuff plus National Geographic. But, they've also bought over all the Fox and ABC shows that my friends back in the UK also have for about 600 baht a month????

  5. Prayut posted on Facebook earlier that the goal for reopening was to have over 50 million people receiving their first shot by October. That would probably mean doing over 450,000 jabs every day for the next 115 or so days. They usually start the week doing 350-400,000 on Monday but it drops off to appx. 100,000 at weekends. On that basis, they will fall some way short of 50 million. Comments were disabled on his Facebook post, I can't think why???  ????

  6. As much as I don't really care for the egg-chasing, Watching the world cup I have been impressed with how their VAR works. Mainly because the conversation between the referees and the team in the VAR room is transparent, so we the fans better understand how the end decision was reached.

Football seems to scared to Mic up the refs and show replays on the screen of contentious incidents.

  7. Hey Scot, wher is your bar located and what is its name. Cheers Dazeford

Action Street bar complex is in Soi Buakao. Best to ring the baht bus bell when you see the Tesco Express and you should be by the entrance by the time the bus stops.

I hear the sky cameras were doing some more filming with ladyboys in Pattaya before Christmas so there could be another series coming some time this year.

  8. I took a bus from Mo Chit to Mukdahan on a Sunday night, VIP bus was about 600 bt. Bus left at 8pm and arrived in Mukdahan about 10 hours later. The connecting bus to Laos costs about 50 bt so I was at the consulate just before it opened up.

Return journey on the Tuesday, flew back from Ubon Ratchathani. Took a minivan from Mukdahan to Ubon bus station then a Moto Taxi to the airport.

  9. Thank you for all of your answers, how hard was it to get from ubon bus station to the airport?

I forgot to answer your second question, yes you should be able to make it for the 1945 flight. On day 2 the consulate opened a bit earlier than expected at 1330 and not 1400 for everyone to collect their passports. There were tuktuks sitting outside the consulate and I shared one with some other farangs going to the bridge. Once we walked through Lao immigration there was a bus waiting on the other side of the booths to take us over the bridge and back to Mukdahan bus station. At Mukdahan bus station I didn't have to wait around for a connecting bus as there was already a minivan sitting in wait so this was why I got to Ubon airport at 1700. I am not sure if the minivans run to a schedule as such or they just go when they have enough people. Mine left the station with about 4 empty seats but he picked up a few people along the way as they tend to do.
