  1. I used to build them from both balsa wood and also electric models with Depron foam

Balsa wood is a very time consuming way of bulding, with depron if you know what you are doing it can be done in hours (the profile palnes that is).

I used to print all my plans from the internet, usualy the plan tells you for what size engine the plan was designed for.

When I was living in Bahrain these RC planes were not sold hence I had to get everything from the internet.

It is a nice hobby unless you crash and burn 55555.

    Good luck with the building

  2. Once I was stuck in no-man's land between Thailand and Malaysia - neither of them would let me in! I've heard of some being stuck there for months.

Yes... I almost fell foul of the same situation many years ago in the territory between Tanzania and Malawi. Malawi would not let me in and Tanzania would not let me back. It's a long story, but the upshot of it is, I ended up bribing a Malawian immigration official for a 7 day transit visa. Without that bribe, I would have been locked out in nowhereville for god knows how long, as both countries refused to take responsibility for me.

isn't Malawi smack bang in the middle of South Africa?
  3. Hi all.

Has anyone here ever donated eggs in Thailand? Or do you know someone that has? I have done it in South Africa and I found it to be not too difficult and very rewarding.

do you mean for infertile couples?
  4. It dampens the cravings for nicotine and helps to wean you of the traditional cigs.

You're kidding, right? Nicotine is an addictive drug and it doesn't matter how you take it - pipe, chew, ecig, cigarette... The user is an addict. All nicotine devices whether cigarettes or ecigs or patches or nicotine gum keep the addict addicted.

Would I put heroin in a patch or in an ecig to help a heroin addict kick the habit, or would I take him off heroin altogether? What does it matter how he gets his fix?

Just please don't tell me that taking nicotine in a different form will help kick the habit. Not even patches or gum. They don't work. If they seem to work it is the will to quit, evidenced by the purchase of the patches or ecig, not the substitute.

Most of what you have said is complete waffle!!

Using e-cigs is probably the easiest way to quit smoking.

Vaporizing glycerin with gradually lowered nicotine content WILL work.

Worked for me after a few months.

As it has for countless others.

i totally agree i am down from 30 a day to 2 a day it really helps and i feel better health wise <deleted> to the nay sayers

I won't argue that perhaps the lack of blackening the lungs and introducing other harmful chemicals could help but then I don't know. The ecig is vaporizing glycerin and other things which are ingested and I have no idea if that has any consequence.

what about not inhaling 4000 other harmful gases that will kill you, by cutting that out is a more healthier life style. nicotine on its own is not a killer. if you do not have any positive feedback please do not even bother posting.
  6. Every 5 meters on Sukhumvit main road from Soi 5 onwards till Thonglor (Soi 55)...

Am more interested in how it is used... can you kindly elaborate (assuming you are purchasing for personal use, of course).

    TIA!

This e-cig is battery powerd with an element in it that vapourises the liquid.

This creates vapours that is inhaled along with nicotine, it cuts out the other 4000+ dangerous gases that is inhaled when you smoke a normal cig.

There also is no second hand smoke that is a dangerous to others, and when smoked it is odourless so you do not smell like an ashtray.

It dampens the cravings for nicotine and helps to wean you of the traditional cigs.

Yes it is for personal use as i want to quit smoking.

  7. Have you started a new topic by mistake, it appears that you may be replying to another thread?

And 3 topics started with the same post. Maybe you could ask a mod to tidy it up.

Yes and no, the other thread was about/ The mushroom cpversatopn took is into an off topic area, so I started this thread. People who are doing fish farms probably care very little about mushrooms

    Hmmm interesting,

you started this thread because you didn't want to hijack a topic about fish farming and now this topic has been hijacked by shrimp farmers rolleyes.gif

    i cant agree more!!!!!!

  8. "Try a poison with Bromide in it. (Bromakil in Oz). Bromide dries them out - nothing for maggots to live on. Quite effective. "

As quoted by an old poster.

I do believe that Rentokil Thailand use Bromakil, might be worth a check.

  9. Three more guys with a sudden interest in "temples" I take it. cheesy.gif

Temples have nothing to do with it mate...We are also looking at Singapore and Malaysia....I read in a recent survey that 68% of expats move to Thailand and to be fair...ANYTHING is better than the UK...

Most important to me is earning money to send to my daughter after a recent divorce so ....gather the facts before you judge ;-)

thanks for your help everyone else so far....

can you advise on the availability of work in Phuket also?

and the chances of just turning up and getting a job on the off chance?

    Thanks

    Gezza

  10. 8 rai...hmm...Catfish !?!!

    Redbullhorn,

Thanks for reviving the thread, I was reading and got so into it that I really wanted to know what was decided in the end..... then bang just nothingness........

Perhaps we can get an update as to what tingtong did since is last post and how succesfull it is?

You said 8 rai for catfish what will the layout cost be to get that set up with no ponds on the land?

how many harvests will be needed to start showing a profit IYHO?

  11. Have a look at the usual local alternative. 4 inch concrete posts that are notched for 3 or 4 strands of barbed wire, barbed wire and chicken wire on the lower half. Available everywhere and cheap. You can get the posts made to order if you have the time to let they season to strength. Finding a decent wire strainer and people that understand how to put up a strainer post, now that's a challenge!

    HI IA,

We eventually bought our land in Tha sa-at :D

What would you recon the cost would be to fence in 18 rai with the method you mentioned above just with barbed wire no chicken mesh?
