  1. Should have added, Imigration and or customs does not report your length of stay out of the country, yes it may be in their computers, but you do not go thru immigration or customs, when you leave Canada, only when you return, if you are a Canadian.

you are 100% correct, been here for 6 years, go home once and a while and have a check etc, no issues. UNLESS YOU ADVISE them on their website !!!!!!!!!!!

  2. CANDO have a fail safe system that requires no power, IE loss of power,

However this Reactor is very expensive, and thus everyone opts for the cheaper version , thinking the day will never arrive for a accident !

  3. The first explanation I've seen of what happened with the generators at the Fukushima Daichi plant... from NHK.

The Tokyo Electric Power Company, the plants' operator, tried to restore depressurizing equipment using a mobile generator. But the plan failed as the equipment had already been damaged by tsunami waves.

And the same account from the Prime Minister in his news conference yesterday:

Prime Minister Naoto Kan says he will do his utmost to safeguard the health of residents near the unstable Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant.

At a news conference on Saturday, Kan said unexpectedly powerful tsunami waves interfered with the operation of back-up systems when the plant's operations were halted.

Then, I believe they're referring to the separate Fukushima Daini plant below:

At the Number Two Plant, cooling water temperatures in its 3 reactors remain at 100 degrees Celsius--more than 3-times higher than the normal operating temperature.

The utility is considering other options to restore failed cooling systems for these reactors.

Safety Design verses Costs, Does anyone remember the CAN-DO Reactors built in Canada using Heavy Water, if i remember correct that design stopped working if you lost the heavy water , maybe i am wrong, was just something in my mind from years ago, and the rest of the world went on to do it with out HEAVY Water as a lower cost . maybe they need think design again in earthquake areas

  4. It is not a Virus

The data you send from your laptop through the internet access point is redirected to the criminals Laptop , where it extracts the Data and then forwards it on tot he original Router where there is a connection tot he Internet, the transaction works perfect , except the whole operation has been copied

This software could care less about Virus protection or Licensed software, Remember it fools the data on the wifi network into thinking the criminals Laptop is the Router or the way tot he internet [ called Poison packet] So all internet wifi locations and or networks with out protection for this HACK will pass on the data , he will be sitting there with you in the same internet cafe or in the same building somewhere. It even works on TRUE Internet wifi Access Points , i have tested it there to. Told True about it and got some DUM answer as usual. Normal Thai way !

Just to be clear to everybody as I do not normally post in this part of the forum. I am associated with Bangkok Bank.

  5. Well I just downloaded it ant tried it in the Condo building I am staying here in Bangkok and it sure does work , its been some time since I have tested this new version in Vista , Now to get it back out of my laptop !!!!

But it seems all there Condo wifi resellers systems are big targets too here in Thailand , the Owner likes making money on Electricity and Internet but with his cheap system he is exposing all of us staying here.

    k.

That is absolutely not what has been happening in these cases. But it is the reason we say not to use Wifi sites you do not trust. And most Trojans nowdays are creating using the ZEUS kit which is freely available.

  6. Well you are half correct ,

but they are using a software that is ready available,

URL removed this software is labeled as a recovery tool but it actually works this way , a criminal downloads it in his laptop , then he simply goes to a internet wifi area , where there are lots of people on line. Since this is a small network with a CHEAP router hookes to a ADSL the system has no security features for this software,

The laptop of the criminal when connected becomes the hidden router [Gateway] and issues POISON Packets which redirect all the connected clients first to his Laptop, where the passwords and sign on features are captured, then it proceeds to the original Router where the transaction is completed , he captures everything, every password, everything !!!!!!!!!!!!!, try it if you not believe it. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also most small wireless and some ISP in Thailand are so outdated or SLEEPY !!!!!!!!!!!!! that this also works on their full system, At least in North America large companys now have protection to this , but not a Cheap D-Link Router and a wireless AP in a Cafe, this is where they get you.

Cain & Abel is a password recovery tool for Microsoft Operating Systems. It allows easy recovery of various kind of passwords by sniffing the network, cracking encrypted passwords using Dictionary, Brute-Force and Cryptanalysis attacks, recording VoIP conversations, decoding scrambled passwords, recovering wireless network keys, revealing password boxes, uncovering cached passwords and analyzing routing protocols. The program does not exploit any software vulnerabilities or bugs that could not be fixed with little effort. It covers some security aspects/weakness present in protocol's standards, authentication methods and caching mechanisms; its main purpose is the simplified recovery of passwords and credentials from various sources, however it also ships some "non standard" utilities for Microsoft Windows users.

Cain & Abel has been developed in the hope that it will be useful for network administrators, teachers, security consultants/professionals, forensic staff, security software vendors, professional penetration tester and everyone else that plans to use it for ethical reasons. The author will not help or support any illegal activity done with this program. Be warned that there is the possibility that you will cause damages and/or loss of data using this software and that in no events shall the author be liable for such damages or loss of data. Please carefully read the License Agreement included in the program before using it.

The latest version is faster and contains a lot of new features like APR (Arp Poison Routing) which enables sniffing on switched LANs and Man-in-the-Middle attacks. The sniffer in this version can also analyze encrypted protocols such as SSH-1 and HTTPS, and contains filters to capture credentials from a wide range of authentication mechanisms. The new version also ships routing protocols authentication monitors and routes extractors, dictionary and brute-force crackers for all common hashing algorithms and for several specific authentications, password/hash calculators, cryptanalysis attacks, password decoders and some not so common utilities related to network and system security.

OK, I will try to cover as many of the points raised in this thread as reasonable. But firstly I want to make it clear that I cannot get into anything specific about this customer case on a public forum like ThaiVisa. So I will speak in general not to this case being mentioned

Firstly, as you said, it is very important for everybody to realize that iBanking was NOT hacked. In effect what happens with a Trojan is that the customer PC is hacked as the Trojan attaches itself and performs what is known as a "man in the middle" or MOM attack. Trojans are a problem for customers and banks worldwide, not just Bangkok Bank and not just banks in Thailand. Please refer to the front page of the USA Today 2 weeks ago about the current wave of Trojan problems in the USA.

Trojans are installed (in general they do not attach over the net like some malware). The most usual ways in which a Trojan will get onto a computer (PC, MAC, LINUX) is to be installed with another product, such as downloaded media files, unlicensed software, and attachments which install. Trojans are often "Browser Helpers" and are targeted at multiple types of Browser, not just IE. And as I said above, Trojans affect all platforms, so nobody should be complacent, although as the dominant platform WINDOWS is the largest target.

Customers have the responsibility to protect their computer and to only use computers (and wireless networks) they are confident are secure. Included in this protection must be

    · Using licensed versions of commercial software (WINDOWS and MAC)

    · Automatically updating your software with security patches

    · Downloading and installing software and media only from companies you have confidence in

    · Running a licensed and updated AV and Malware product and configuring this properly so it checks all files in real time. Please note that many AV products are either free or very, very cheap. You can see BangkokBank.Com for details

    · Being prudent about the sites you visit and download from

As I said above, Trojans are effectively a hack of the customer PC. The newer Trojans in the past several years do not harvest passwords as this is too easy to track and to block with a 2-way Firewall. What they do is allow the customer to logon, and once authenticated they do the MOM attack. So it does not matter if a OTP (either from SMS or token) are used at logon if the customer does have a Trojan infection

iBanking is a highly secure system. It is the same software as used by many world class banks that many of you will be using back home.

iBanking does not allow customers to use simple 4 Digit PINS as mentioned somewhere here. We require that customers use complex passwords which are long, alphanumeric and effectively impossible to guess. They are not subject to what is known as a "statistical attack". We never store customer passwords, so there is no way they can be stolen or misappropriated. We also perform regular penetration tests both internally and by an internationally recognized 3rd party who specializes in this activity.

iBanking does use SMS OTP extensively for sensitive transactions and we are progressively expanding this, and we provide the email option. In addition to the OTP we also include other valuable information on the SMS which customers MUST check. This includes to "Transfer To" account number.

I will try to post more later as required. Please let me know if you have questions.

  7. They are on restricted connection through Cat International connections- unpaid bills. !

Have to agree with you about TT&T/3BB or whoever they are now.

These last 6 months their service has been going downhill, and getting worse these past few weeks. Many times service down for several hours. No-one answers the service centre 1530, just get the message loop in Thai.

The strange thing is the the speed check sometimes says TT&T and other time 3BB. The sooner our local cable TV service offers the CAT internet service, the better.

  8. Not sure about Thailand marinas , been in Thailand 3 years and never saw 1 but there are 2 large ones in Subic Philippines and many boats there tied up and left , owners had them there as hidden assets and never returned, many deals cheap, sail boats and sea ray express cruisers.

  9. This is normal , the rules are changed as they go, i too have a 1 year thai visa married to thai, but when i ran into some issue too as i did everything on published web site etc, T They said no ! the rules changed , i said where and was shown a photocopy of a typed 1 page memo showing the changes which was in a old book on the desk of official. I said well why not change the web info, they said not their job. and thats the end . either comply or go pay a agent who will pay the bribe to do it the old way as on web site, just a Thai money making venture for inside boss !!!! , the more difficult the economy the more the scams for them, they really do not want us here you know !!!!!!!!!!

  10. It depends on where your website is Hosted, i think its in the same block of IP that Thaksin website was on, however the Reds CLOKED their IP and used random IP to mask theirs, looks like you were one of the ones the REDS got to use . it will take some time, i suggst you move the hosting first.

  11. I have no problem with incoming emails with true but had a he'll of a time sending them no point asking true what their smtp server is they always gave me the wrong one the only one I found that works for True is smtp.truemail.co.th which I got right after being told to use about 5 other different one by them. Just thought I'd let other people know this if they are having the same problemi did

well if you use a Blackberry on AIS with unlimited for 600baht and a tetherberry connection to laptop you are never restricted or blocked and actually get a IP from california !!!!!!!!!1

Wounded Australian on handouts takes to red shirt stage

Conor David Purcell, a former Australian military reservist, is a long way from home. The 29-year-old has two infected hip wounds, no money, no passport and survives on handouts from his Thai and foreign friends.

138553.jpg WHITE FACE IN A RED CROWD: UDD fixture Conor David Purcell. His speeches have fired up the red shirt supporters.

But when he takes to the red shirt stage at Ratchaprasong, thousands of people stop and listen attentively to the Irish-born Aussie ``military'' man as he reads his speeches, which are immediately translated into Thai.

To the red faithful, he knows what he's talking about, whether it's discrediting government accounts of the Sala Daeng grenade attacks or the "criminality" of the April 10 bloodshed near the Democracy Monument.

The red shirt leaders nod their approval at Mr Purcell, who claims to have done "quite extensive" work with the Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) and trained with the Singapore and Malaysia military.

"I don't think I should fight,'' Mr Purcell said when asked about his role with the red shirts. "What I'm trying to do is keep the world informed, those speeches which are then put on the internet are keeping the world informed.''

But in a conflict confused by multiple layers of lies and half-truths, Mr Purcell may only be adding to the puzzle by talking up his military credentials.

"You need to take what he says with a big dose of salt,'' said a source at the Australian embassy. "He's a big noter who gilds the lily big time.''

138554.jpg STIR 'EM UP: Purcell on the UDD stage with Weng Tojirakarn, translating the Australian's remarks.

Mr Purcell, who claims a political science degree from the University of Western Australia, says he had always been an admirer of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his poverty-alleviation policies. "His macro-economic policies, I thought, were brilliant; the fact that he seemed to be the first prime minister to focus on the poor and the majority of people.''

Mr Purcell, who says he is not paid by the reds, became "radicalised'' and "very angry'' at the Thai government after what he witnessed during the April 10 fighting, which left 25 people dead.

"The criminality on that day was very similar to Bloody Sunday in Ireland,'' he said. "It was an insult to any soldier, it was an insult to any rules of engagement, it was an insult to any manly sense of honour that they tear-gassed a crowd of monks and businessmen.''

He says he was injured by two silicon-coated bullets while trying to shelter behind an APC secured by the reds and now has a ``dirty wound'' which cannot be stitched and has to be treated with antibiotics.

During the skirmish he lost his Australian emergency passport and 1,400 baht. He signed a statutory declaration at the Australian embassy on April 20 detailing his ordeal. ``They said you have to go home straight away, then they walked back into their air-conditioned office and made themselves a cup of tea,'' Mr Purcell said.

The embassy source said Mr Purcell's behaviour and public statements were ``disturbing'' and they had advised him to return home. ``He's actually broken quite a few Thai laws,'' the source said.

Mr Purcell denies he has interfered in Thai affairs, saying he has only given a ``witness statement'' of what actually happened on April 10.

He says he is now working with the reds' legal and public relations teams and is "throwing ideas out''.

In his latest speech he asked the UN Security Council to refer the situation in Bangkok to the International Criminal Court and for the court to investigate the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation.

Mr Purcell says that when the protests are over he plans to continue his attempts to set up a charity here with connections to Vietnam and Cambodia.

    A loser from the get-go.

Set up a charity? Unfortunately there are sheeple who will follow such a nutter.

    the Cambodia connection !!!!!!!!!

A Thai court issued orders on Tuesday to arrest former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on terrorism charges, accusing him of helping to fund two months of anti-government riots.

The court says there is enough evidence to believe that Thaksin was the mastermind of weeks of anti-government riots that began in April and left 88 people dead and 1,400 wounded.

Government officials say Thaksin contributed millions of dollars toward the 10 weeks of protests and is believed to have organized the smuggling of arms and fighters from Cambodia.

Arresting Shinawatra may not be easy. It's believed the telecom tycoon has resided in Dubai since his ouster in a coup in 2006, but he keeps his location secret. He was last believed to be in France for the Cannes film festival.

Thai prosecutors and the Foreign Ministry said they would launch a global hunt for Thaksin. If he is captured and convicted, he could be sentenced to death.

  13. Not found all murdered bodies to steal ??

Oh sorry, too many yellow shirted farangs here...

Be happy, kids, it is NOT over..

Your IP is logged, as are your terrorist threats. Would one of the moderators please forward this to the CRES?

    Thanks in advance.

Don't be such an idiot. Of course its not over, evreything will start to gather steam again and it will happen again. How many coups have there been in the last 60 years?? 16 or 17?? can't quite remember.. If you know your Thai history you will know that there is only a coup when there is a popular government in power.. (popular with the majority of the country that is).

It won't happen now though because the 'correct' people are in the government.

This is how things will go until Thailand gets true democracy (ie. you can say what you want about certain things without fear of prison):

Government elected by the majority of Thai people = Military Coup

Government put in place by the elite =Peoples Uprising

Remember if you are in Thailand, everything you will hear about Thaksin is bad. Everything you will hear about the Government is good.

Thaksin is no angel but you're a fool to believe everything you hear or read in Thailand.

Now you want to log my IP?? I'm running it through two proxys which makes it untraceable u d***

If you live in Thailand using a proxy is the only way to know what is really going on because your precious government has blocked so many websites.

    Fools

mods can;t u do something about this member, is not inciting violence against the rules?

Looks like a NUT JOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

suck this up you Red licker
