The same thing happened to me,,,you need to return to the point, of entry as your arrival/departure card is missing as well,,mine was dealt with fairly quickly and my original dates for my visa,,NON B,,however as i was due to do a 90day run 3 days after my passport was stolen i was hit for a 20k overstay, as it took 56 days from report, apply new passport and get dicked around on Samui not realising i had to return to BKK,,,the police report didn't matter,,i was interrogated and ordered to pay !!!!!!!!!!

Thanx guys for your help,,however i found a gem gay only hotel called Aquarious Guesthouse. Really quaint, a bit old and dated but clean, quiet and great staff, well there is only 2.

Hot coffee and toast and fruit for breakfast. Located on soi suan phlu sathorn, close to babylon.

Only thing is i am the only guest,,but the staff enjoy having a drink with me in the evening.

Don't expect an entourage of sexy boys, but just clean rooms and good service.

Apparently this place used to be buzzing years ago , shame really as it has a nice garden and relaxed feeling, a real home from home.

All for just 850thb a night!!! BARGAIN

yes i have noticed that seems to be thai style. everyone is skint due to currency issues and the thais are putting their prices up.

I know one business which separated and became rivals. thats 2 business selling the same thing exept one of them put their prices up and now is empty. Harly suprising and the other shop is full.

As for the gazzete It is better than the express but it is not up to Phuket standard and other main city local paper standards and they are abpout 20 to 25 baht but they are full of local news.

Maybe with gas going up so is the cost of paper and everything from eggs to plane tickets.

also did u read that 10 and a half things about bangkok airways airport in samui. it was an interview with Bangkok airways.

They make me laugh. there ecuss for charging for parking is to get ride of taxi touts. so basically it is alright for BBK airways to rip us off but not for anyone else.

they seemed to want to branch out their manoloply. Also the taxis are still there they just block the loading bay. pathetic.

As for the other things i can't remeber all i can remeber is that we pay the bill for all the fancy airport lounges in thailand and as for cutting their prices in half for sonkhran exept samui airport is just a disgrace bt i would complain but who is going to listen and do something. maybe a facebook account for antie BBK airways

yes, they have had a worrying amount of incidents, since moving there maintenance,,although you could argue,,,,they stilll have not had a crash and loss of life,,,,, :jap:

However i have been flying since 1973,,when jets had to stop 3 times to refuel to get to OZ from LHR,,,,but i would not fly Qantas,,,surly it is only a matter of time ???

But i will praise all of the pilots, who must wonder what is going to happen next,,but get their planes and passengers on the ground safely,,,,even if there are a few skiddies!!!

i can not recommend an agent, although it is relevantly easy to do it all your self ,,,however i would recommend flying, unless you want to sen HOURS and HOURS of bum and mind numbing bus miles !!!! Trust me just Phnom Penh to Battembang is long enough !!!!!

adding to my previous post the ""sanctuary"" also has a Trip advisor page,,,and it is worth reading ALL the reviews, as there are some interesting reviews that DON"'T rate it at all !!!

Another place that may be of interest is Baan Gerda Orphanage for kids with or affected by HIV. I tried to get there myself once, but time etc etc blah blah !!!!! They have a facebook page.

How strange, was just randomly watching Animal Planet and this was featured,,,you don't seem to pay,,but it is more like an Eco holiday so you get accommodation and food for your money !!!!!!

If you come to Battembang i would be happy to meet up with you,,,again there are orphanages who will be happpy just for yyour time rather than money alone !!

mmm why don't you volunteer in Cambodia,,for sure they need it more,,,and are far more grateful !!! also they don't make you jump through hoops for you to give your own time.

I lived in Thailand for 5 years and IMHO if they just took reasonable care of the elephants, as they do here they don't need volunteers.

I currently teach in the North West of Cambodia ( Battembang ) not voluntarily, but i give some time when i can to teach for free

I have volunteered at an orphanage in Phnom Penh ( SFODA, check it out on facebook,, ) as have friends of mine,,,they don't charge you anything,,,so any monies you were going to get scammed for you could put into the kids,,,,,shoes, bikes, cloths, sports things, just a day out for them means the world and costs very little as we did just last weekend.

Of course just an idea,,if you are hell bent on Elephants, then elephants it will be.

Either way i commend your intentions.

mmmm Saweng,,,whilst the man is good,,,his prescription actually made my eyes worse, went back he said i could have a refund,,so went back next day and his ( i think sister) psycotic sister went mad at me,,throwing my money back saying " this isn't how business works" although wish i had stuck at it,,my beer goggles not as good as they were!!!!

I have to say, that i went to the Lady in Nathon whilst i was having the problem and she could.t diagnose anything,,but still seemed to cost me 1500thb, then went to the one next to Makro,,not knowing it was her husband,,and when i said i had been to the one in Nathon who didn't get it,,,he seemed totally disinterested!!!!! all seems to have cleared up on it's own though!!
