First, do confirm whether you are entitled to a visa exempt entry, or whether you are only eligible to purchase a visa on arrival. It makes a huge difference. I am assuming that you can get a 30-day visa exempt entry.

There is no good option right now for a border bounce from Hua Hin. You might consider going to Ranong for a same day border bounce to Kawthoung.

Thanks.. this is what i am looking for... Uk passport.. always did my retirement myself but because of a banking glitch last year (went under the 800k for 24hrs and they refused to extend so i had to use an agent).... I want to start fresh again doing it myself , but will have to leave and re enter.. did  Kanchanaburi hop years ago but i think that border is closed now

Thai passport is not relevant to UK passport application.

You are renewing it is NOT a new application.

Renewal requires copies of ALL pages of passport.

Application submitted via VFS in Bangkok or Chiang Mai.

The application form requires copies of both passports if dual nationality.. My question is.. do you still need to copy them if they are expired..

  3. A couple of questions: RE: new UK passport,  does anyone know if  you need to make copies of your old UK and Thai passport if they have already expired ?  Also is getting an adult passport after previously having a child's passport (now expired) classed as a renewal or first passport?

    Cheers

It doesn't need to be in her name if she's a child.  I used confirmation from my employer, but any bill or maybe a school letter showing the address and the parents' name (translated into English if in Thai) should be fine.

Just turned 18 this year, so first adult passport.

  5. A bit morbid, but what happens to my assets if I kick the bucket? I am legally married but separated and have 18 y/o daughter... I would hope everything would go to her. Is it really necessary to have a will?

I did my Non Immi O-A last week. All gone smoothly.

I had all paperwork as requested.

Just for the health insurance she asked: policy.

I had the receipt and prove from company that it was on the immigration system.

Not enough, she wanted a copy of the whole policy.

Open my folder and here you go.

    Sorted for another year.

You had to show insurance for extension of stay???

Do through agent for about 14k but likely they will get from another province. This is a perfect case where an officer should be using their discretion to overlook this small bank book amount, but they will only if paid and almost always via an agent.

Yes, my thoughts exactly...... Does anyone know of any agents in Nonthaburi??

Change the reason for your extension application to marriage/child.

Only 400K required in the bank for two months prior to an extension application based on Thai wife.

Only 400K required in the bank on the day of application based on Thai child.

    Which way you proceed depends on a couple of issues;

    1. Are you legally married to a Thai registered in Thailand.

    2. Was the child born in wedlock, or do you have parental custody of the child.

Yes and Yes to your questions, There is a problem here though as I am separated (divorce pending) from my wife but I have custody of my daughter

  9. I have had a retirement visa for the last two years with no issues, went to extend today but was refused as I dipped under the 800k by 4,000bt for one day within the first 3 months.. Can you believe it.. I didn't realize this had happened as it was a direct debit for my car payment and the account was replenished within 48 hrs.. A little harsh I think, but them's the rules.. I was told I could only get a covid visa and then would have to leave the country. I still have a few weeks before my visa expires.. Can anyone offer any advice on what I can do now?? I have a family here and and child still in school. It would be impossible for them if I have to leave due to travel restrictions/ quarantine etc...

I was not referring to a TM30 report. That is no longer required unless you change addresses.

Proof of residence is often a copy of a rental agreement with signed copies of the owner's house book and ID card.

Not TM30, but as you say proof of residence.. Does that have to be re submitted on a yearly basis even if i am the same residence?

What financial proof are you using?

You will need a completed completed TM7 form with one 4 X 6 cm photo attached.

Copies of passport photo page, visa, last entry stamp and your most recent extension of stay stamp and TM6 departure card.

Some office will want a copy of every page of your passport that has visa or stamp for Thailand.

Proof of residence may also be needed.

OK 800k in the bank..  Does proof of residence need to be done again as i haven't been anywhere since last year?

Presuming your initial entry was on a Non-Imm O (ie not an O-A Visa), or you obtained one from immigration in country by converting from a TV or Visa Exempt, there is no insurance requirement.

Unsure how you qualified last year, if it was 800k on deposit or monthly transfers. If the former, you may have to show you kept the 400k available and have had 800k for 2 months. I suggest doing it early... and beware the end of this month.

I got an "O" visa from Nonthaburi immigration
