Spot on. Similar observations from living in Chiang Mai for 9 years.

And as the traffic volumes have increased exponentially in that time it has become even worse.

Am I not correct in recalling an earlier government statement last year opinioing that they were going to reduce road fatalities in all of Thailand by 80% by next year? Or am I dreaming?

All i see is drivers of motor cycles looking round  the do not look ahead, and when i see somebody about to turn left out of a road they never look to see is any body is comming

Of course not -- any such demand would open the floodgates on scams of every hue.  If the Thai Government supplied some form of "foreigner insurance" that would be a reasonable option, but given the terms and conditions applying to health and travel insurance being so diverse, it would be impossible for Immigration to compare "like-with-like" amongst the companies.

If you work in Thailand you can get all your treatment free for 400bht a month sceme

  4. My friend has been chatting to this man for over a year he had photo of him and his daughter, last month he said i want to come to see you i will arrive on the Sunday but i cannot meet you till after Monday because i have to sign a deal with a Bangkok firm, he sent a photo of his Quator air line ticket to her,on the Tuesday he asked her to send 30.000 bht because he was short of funds,so she asked me about it i told her he is a scammer, then he phoned her asking for the money when she said no a Thai women came on the phone,so my friend said can you talk to my police man standing here he wants to ask you questions straight away she put the phone down, now Facebook and his Tagged profile has gone.

  5. The changes that came into force on 9 July 2012 stipulate that the British spouse has to earn an annual income of £18,600 (and show that he/she has been earning that amount for at least six months) in order to sponsor his/her non-EEA spouse for a visa. The foreign spouse’s income is not taken into account. The financial threshold increases if they have children also in need of sponsorship.
