  1. Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears if you have a connecting flight before arriving in Phuket you will have to be screened at the last airport before Phuket. I am flying EWR CDG HKT. The last flight is on Thai air and I will be screened in Paris? By who?

  2. It has been reported on other sources that Thai Embassies in USA can not process J&J vaccines because the site requires 2 shots. This is not true. I was cleared with J&J no problem. The vaccine is listed as Janssen J&J vaccine. The second dose field is grayed out and is left blank.JJ.JPG.560aafe93eff143cd81e683ff2ebf557.JPG

They really should fix that UX issue, it has caused people so much trouble.

FYI. The area squared is not the upload button. The actual upload button is on the file itself.

  4. To my knowledge there are no dog-catching businesses here. But there are several organizations/foundations who are active in spay/neuter-release programs, which have time and again been shown far more effective than catch-and-dump or catch-and-kill efforts.

Maybe join up with them in case you or anyone find the dogs in the soi annoying.

This is of cource complete and utter nonsense. This feel good crap has been around for years and has no basis in fact. Every study done by unbiased research shows that this approach is at best net zero and more likely only makes the problem worse. The Soi Dog Foundation has burned through millions of baht of other peoples money and anyone with a lick of sense knows the problem of feral animals is worse than ever.

The conclusion of this report of the FAO on catch-neuter-release/return of free-roaming dogs in developing countries disagrees with your opinion.

Do you have research reports that backs up your claims? Also those that backs up your accusation of Soi Dog Foundation?

This subjects interests me, So, I welcome the research reports you come up with.

    Thank you. smile.png

  6. I wonder if any hospital/surgeon outside Chula is going to offer this operation.

    Wow, where to start.

1: Ventral septal defect and aortic valve disease are 2 completely unrelated heart issues.

2: Replacing the aortic valve does not fix VSD

3: Minimally invasive repair of the aortic valve has been around for years.

4: The last sentence tells the real story. They are making a knock off device of a product that is already available. to save"50% on buying the real thing"

  7. As long as her LPR(Green card) is valid, no worries.

The name on her green card does not have to match her Thai Passport

Her airline ticket must match her Thai Passport.

When she arrives in Bangkok, go immediately to the passport office.

The closest one to the airport is at Central World Bangna/Trat( Not the one near Siam Square that burnt down and was re-built)

The office is on the fifth floor of the mall.

My wife was in and out in 20 minutes to apply.

She picked up her new passport in 2 days, again in and out in 20 minutes.

I recommend against having it sent by EMS, my wife"s original passport was "misplaced " by EMS.

Watch out for Thai holidays, the office is closed. Also closed on Saturday.

Don't bother trying to change name on passport, it is not necessary and adds un-needed complications.

She must have a valid Thai ID card that matches the name on her expired passport.

Try to arrange her arrival for early in the week to allow for the 2 day processing.

When she returns to the USA, she just shows her new passport and current US greencard, there are no stamps or visa involved. She will get to keep her old passport.

The ICE officer at the airport will scan her greencard and have all of the information regarding maiden name and married name, no worries.

I hope she has a great trip.

    E-mail me if any ????

  8. 1) How is it possible in 2013 that every single take-off and landing at every single airport around the world is not video recorded, from multiple angles, in hi-def?

    2) Does anybody remember a few years ago a Thai Air airbus leaving the runway at Swampy, damaging thousands of dollars of airport landing lights. The crew wrestled the plane back on the runway, pulled up to the gate and left without explanation to the stunned passengers. The next day some Thai Air hi-so angrily denied it ever happened.

  9. Long term usage (say six months daily use) even at amounts under the supposed safe amount of 4000 milligrams per day can cause abnormal liver tests even in people who don't drink. I was told to take this for pain by my surgeon after I was weaned off narcotic pain medicine for a spinal fusion. I was taking only about 3000 mg daily, didn't drink but it made my liver tests quite high. Later when I was referred to a pain dr he said many drs are so phobic of narcotics they suggest Tylenol to their patients and my reaction was quite common with longer usuage. After he put me back on narcotics without Tylenol the liver values went back to normal. If I take it for two weeks (in cold medicine, other rx medication) they start to rise again.

I was curious as to what liver values increased? ALP, AST, ALT, bilirubin?... or all 4?

I noticed a significant increase in bilirubin after a few days of use and low dose... enough to start me itching.

30 years working in the ER in the US, I've seen many( 20+) horrible Tylenol overdoses. Unless treated quickly and aggressively it leads to irreversible, fatal liver damage with the only recourse being an emergent liver transplant(Not always available). In most of the cases the tragedy was the victim was not really trying to kill themselves but was making what is known as a "suicide gesture." Usually a teenage or pre teen, angry or sad picks a permanent solution to a temporary problem. They see that big bottle of Tylenol and because it is over the counter available assume it's not that dangerous and swallow several fists full of pills in an attention getting move. Nothing happens right away but the clock is ticking. Liver damage occurs quickly and once they turn yellow(jaundice) it is often too late. The antidote is readily available and anyone who has worked even a short period of time in ER will know the smell of Mucomyst which must be given in large doses, often force ably(Big tube shoved down nose) repeated several times over many hours until the serum level becomes sub toxic. To Tropo, I'm not sure what you mean by noticing increased bilirubin after taking paracetamol or acetaminophen, but if you are judging this by yellowing of your skin or eyes I would suggest you stop taking these drugs immediately.

  10. Thanks!

There are actually 2 Export Shops and 2 XL shops in Seacon. Upstairs on the level above the furniture floor ? 3rd floor there is a larger Export shop and XL shop. Also check out the Warehouse Stores for ladies clothes, owned by the same company

  11. It's possible that the replies so far have missed the point. I believe this "crackdown" may be a land grab by the Thai government. Most of the posts use the safety in numbers concept to imply it can't be done. 27,000 companies is just too much to review, etc. I respectfully disagree. A simple bounty system would open the flood gates of actionable intel. Every farang homeowner/land owner I know has used nominee Thai shareholders to set up their companies. This process is a fraud by Thai law. What is often overlooked is the fact that the Thai nominee shareholders have also committed a crime. The penalties include 1,000,000 baht fines and /or 5 years in prison. If I were a clever Thai official I would announce a carrot or the stick campaign in all Thai language newspapers and TV. Carrot: Any Thai person who was paid(or not) to sign I contract with a Farang to open a company and who did not actually invest in the company will be given 1,000/ 10,000/ 100,000+ baht to come forward and expose the fraud. The size of the reward would relate to the size of the recovery( land repatriated) The stick: The reward would only be available for a limited time say 1 year. After 1 year any Thai national who participated in this scheme would be prosecuted. Start right now with a very high profile "Perp walk" on national TV showing a rich lawyer being arrested for racketeering, conspiracy and fraud. You can scream foul all you want like some skirt wearing, tampon using Premiership "Footballer" crybaby who was 'pulled down in the box" and lays on the ground in unspeakable agony when the replay shows no contact at all. The laws on foreigners, aliens or Farang owning land in Thailand are simple, you can't. OK you can but it must be more then $1,000,000.00 US in value. The use of Thai nominee shareholders is not now nor has it ever been a loophole, it is a crime. Just because the Thai Officials have been slow to spring the trap doesn't equate to lazy or stupid, maybe they were just waiting until enough oh so smart Farang walked into the trap.

  12. I have bought 3 already, 2 for my friends and 1 for me, very good price for the phone...

Can you please tell me the model number ?

    Thanks thumbsup.gif

I don't understand. You say true move H needs 850 band then you quote the specs for my phone that includes 850 band. Am I missing something? The phone I bought has a 3.5 inch screen. What are the specs on the one from Lotus? I'll check that one out when I arrive,

    Thanks P

    Communications: SIM 1 - GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz) WCDMA (900, 1900, 2100MHz) / SIM 2 - GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz)

its the 3G where you need 850MHz , WCDMA (900, 1900, 2100MHz) your phone can only use 3G from AIS or TOT .

    hope this helps wai.gif

  14. Coming back to Thailand after 2 year absence. Lived in Phuket for 5 years and used CAT Aircard and was happy with that. Now I have purchased http://www.expansys-...nlocked-233121/ for about 4000 Baht. I plan to use True move H SIM card for internet access around Bangkok and Korat. The phone holds 2 SIM cards but I don't think I'll need to use that function. I would like to use the phone as WIFI hotspot for my computer as well. Any idea about the price of Android smartphones with these kind of specs sold in Thailand? Any problems tethering to other devices using Truemove H. Any better mobile internet options.

    Thanks
