  1. Hi, read a lot about long overstay(mine is about 7 months) My mum just died, so have to fly home quick, however my passport has been damaged so I will have an Emergency Passport, I went to British Embassy, with flight details, she said they may detain me at Airport, I have read many posts of people paying the fine and leaving.... She then tells me to go to immigration , pay fine and they will take me to the airport and deport me, just found out tho, that my airline (china southern air) doesn't accept deportees :/ she then send me e mail, says she spoke to immigration and they said if i have flight booked I can risk it and go to airport, but no guarantee ................ any advice welcome from those with similar experience, Many Thanks :)

  2. It's interesting that the price or value of marijuana has dropped 90% in Phuket.'

This bust of 92 kilograms has a street value of 460,000 baht. That comes to 5,000 baht a kilo.

The past bust of 400 kilograms had a street value of 20,000,000. That comes to 50,000 a kilo

Yes, I realize that it's actually bad facts or reporting, but do either of those numbers seem correct? I really don't know, but from the little I've heard discussed about buying weed, one number seems too low and the other seems too high for actual street value. Any experts?

I have a friend who gets it by the kilo and It's about 6,000 baht per kg

  3. The protests while not 100% peaceful have been relatively peaceful. Occupying streets and making idle threats is one thing. No one dies. However, these idiot red shirts want to escalate the situation by provoking fights and we know both sides have guns. With the cowardly bombings probably going to continue, it's only right that the army and police take action and not let things get worse.

Where is the evidence the reds are responsible for these attacks? seems like the yellow faction may be instigating these to get the army to intervene with a coup :/

There must be a reason that those who are intellectually challenged to such a degree that they cannot see the facts are all aligned to the faction rouge

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

well seeing as I'm intellectually challenged, what are the facts? obviously you are the authority on Thai political matters

  4. Just googling around tells me that there are between 200,000 and 400,000 people in Thai prisons, there were a few different figures so I didn't know which to believe. Either way adding 30-60% more people to this system seems at least problematic if not impossible. Since before this war on drugs they were having over crowding issues which in reality is the same as putting people into cans.

A friend of mine who is staying at IDC currently tells me there are around 80 people in his cell and they get 1.5 hours of exercise every 3 days. I doubt we treat animals like this.

Also they hung him from the ceiling by his arms and beat him for getting into a minor ruckus with another cell mate.

I was in IDC in October 2010, luckily I was only there for 4 weeks, I got a flight home to the UK then, was shit in there, terrible food, smelly cramped room, although our room looked better than the rest. The 1.5 hours of out time every 3 days was if they were feeling generous, they found mobile phones that some koreans had stashed away in our room and that was loss of excersise for over a week, was so good to get on that plane :)

  5. Very Interesting topic, I'm sure we have all been duped by some beggars, some of them are for real. There is a guy with one leg on these terrible wooden crutches around where i used to live, Thai people used to buy him food and things, he was homeless. I used to give him all my old clothes regularly and sometimes I would sit with him and chat over a can of leo, sometimes all these people want is some company, it must be very lonely being homeless. this particular beggar used to wave to me when i passed in the street on my bike, made me feel good to just give a little time for someone less fortunate.
