  1. I have a classic ‘97 Jeep wrangler.  I need big chunky tyres to replace my worn out ones.  Any recommends in the Pattaya area for Off Road style chunky Truck tyres that would fit my Jeep.  I actually only do city driving so just purely cosmetic.  The chain shops don’t seem to do them so more a 4X4 specialist place.

  2. I recently updated my Bangkok Bank Passbook hoping to see when I had topped up the 800,000 baht requirement needed for my retirement extension, unfortunately I only got a balance carried forward summary.  It is missing the dates I had topped up my account.  Does anyone know if Chonburi immigration will accept a computer printed version of my detailed transactions which show the dates and everything? Or do I need to order an official statement from the bank since my passbook is incomplete.

  3. I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler (A bit rare in Thailand) with an intermittent electrical fault.  Sometimes the Indicators, Radio and Wipers stop working completely when I turn the engine on.  I turn it off then restart and they work again.  As I say intermittent.   My regular automechanic has tried to solve this a few times.  Cleaning contacts, replacing fuses and checking wiring.  It works for a while then the fault re-occurs.  It is very annoying.   Can anyone recommend an ace Auto Electric specialist in Pattaya who can get to the bottom of this?

Got my M-Pass about two years ago.  Can top up from my Bangkok Bank account any time.  Two or more monthly trips Rayong to Bangkok.  Also now in use when leaving the Pattaya area for BKK and Rayong.  M-Pass has made my trips so much easier.  Well worth your effort to get one.

You can watch Sky Sports, Sky Movies, ITV, Channel 4 etc with an Android app that is free.

You can also watch HBO, Showtime, AMC, and many other US channels, free, with the same

    Android app.

    No VPN needed.

There is buffering of course at times, but then you get that with Netflix if you use a VPN (and without not much point).

    Which android app please?

  6. I am still struggling to find a decent reliable IPTV service that doesn’t buffer.  I mostly watch UK TV - primarily documentaries (Discovery, Nat Geo, History etc) and Music (MTV, Clubland, Dance).  I have used paid subscriptions - HDPrime, HDIPTV and free services like Live NetTV and Redbox.   They all end up deteriorating in service quality and buffering.  PUlse TV and TV Mucho does not have the Music selection.  I am willing to pay a premium for a reliable service.  I have EXPAt Tv Vpn but uk services like TVPlayer are smart enough to detect i am not in the UK.   Any specific  suggestions please.

As you said, they don't respond to email, or phone calls,my wife got her letter last friday. You have to apply in person, the cost of the letter is 200 Baht.If Pattaya is not on full lockdown by Monday I suggest you make the trip to the embassy and get the letter,go early as they are busy.

If you look on Thai Visa there is a thread posted about accompanying document required along with the TM 7 form

sorry I am having trouble locating what documents are required. Can you point me to the thread please . Not clear what cocuments are needed.

Yes, I have the same problem with a girlfriend from Laos who's currently in the Bang Lamung district which happens to be a long way from Bangkok, so the possibility of traveling to the Laos Embassy in BKK is no longer an option for her. I also think it would be highly irresponsible for her to now return to Laos, which is just starting to show early signs of the virus, when she could catch en route and cause further major community spread in her own country by returning. Clearly, the best thing for her to do is to hunker down in her Thai province and wait for the possibility of extending her current 30-day stamp through other means. It would help greatly if the Thai government considered migrants from neighbouring countries who need immediate guidance and assistance in extending their stay by not having to cross the border or travel to an embassy in the capital city.

did you resolve this? My partner got 7 days to leave by April 10th! no idea what to do ????

  9. My Laos partner who lives with me in Pattaya normally gets his passport stamped every 30 days by doing a border run.  At present all borders are closed with little sign of them reopening any time soon.  Wondering what he can do? I heard that 30 day extensions may be granted if he gets a letter from the Laos embassy.  So that will involve us heading to Bangkok and possibly waiting several days to obtain.  Is anyone else in the same boat? Any suggestions?

You would think the airline might be warning people what is needed to board

Apparently NOT.  BA are a disgrace! They passed all the security checks then were denied boarding at the gate.  Frankly i think they should have been informed before checking in! A text notification at least .  Is that so hard!!! They have the technology as BA  sends sms messages of flight changes.

  11. Has anyone been able to successfully enter Thailand today (23 March 2020).  My buddy from the UK on a long term retirement Visa and his Thai wife were denied boarding yesterday at Newcastle Airport for a connecting BA flight from London to Bangkok.  He was told he needed a Health Certificate declaring them both fit to travel. He said that COVID19 tests are not available through his doctor! So how can he get a certificate?  I also read that he needed to have 100,000 USD  medical insurance.  I understand he has An Aetna insurance card for 2,000,000 baht.   Sounds like he may need to contact Aetna to up his insurance to 3,000,000 baht at least.   Anyone have any experience to share or suggestions?

  12. I live in Pattaya and have the basic 10mb package. I find it very slow for video or TV streaming and buffers a lot. Will the upgrade to 15mb solve this? I understand they have a 30mb fibre optic package. Anybody any experience of this? Is it more suitable. Is it stable? Available everywhere in Pattaya. I live on the dark side.

  13. I saw a metal wash basin in a hotel on Koh Chang and fell in love with the design....pics attached. I think i saw something similar in the Centara Hotel on Wongamat beach. I am in Pattaya looking to buy a couple of these for my house
