  1. Sound interesting man. Thanks

Im reading through the website with translation. Dont understand everything but i deff giv them a call.

How much did you pay for the startup and setup and everything the first time ? can u tell me more?

Thanks alot again man, really appreciate the help.

Hi, they have the 'Indy' with 4,5,and 6 mbps download with 512 kbps upload at 590bt, 790bt and 1,000bt respectively and the 'Indy Plus' which is the same but it has 1mbps upload for an additional 100bt/mo. I got the Indy Plus at 4mbps/1mbps. My intentions were to increase the speed if I was satisfied with the performance and customer service. The only times I've called the customer service hotline was to report no service but that was due to some bad storms, plus they already knew about it in BKK and were taking appropriate action. They provided a modem/router also. I was prepared to go buy one but there's is fine. I check the speed on Firefox with a bookmarked toolbar just for the heck of it and it's always at about 3.8Mbps/0.7Mbps. I'm on the outskirts of Khon Kaen city so some is lost along the way but it's close enough. I pay 690bt for the service plus 43.30 for the 7% tax so total is 738.30bt/mo. True told me service could not be available here for a year and there were no phone lines plus they wanted some ridiculous deposit and a work permit. 3bb ran a separate line from the next Soi (I live in a small housing development) ran the line to where I wanted it without screwing anything up. I see their install/service trucks all over the place. I would have to say that 3bb is far superior to the provider I most recently had in the US. If you decide to go with 3bb your girlfriend can pay at any number of banks, 7eleven, Jiffy etc most of which are listed on each statement.

I just called 3bb in BKK to get a number that you can call. The girl spoke good English but she thought I wanted her tel number but we finally worked that out. Anyway, here's 3bb in BKK: 66 2 100 2100. All handphones here call 1530 so I didn't think that would work in Sweden.

I hope this has been of some help and maybe ease some of the frustrations you've been experiencing. I know exactly what you mean but this has been a piece of cake compare to some of things I've dealt with. Good luck and let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with. I know how it is trying to get things done from another country. Jeez!!!!

By the way, (forgot to add) I paid for first month to get it going, 738.30bt. No install fees or anything else.

  3. Hi, I am not really familiar with the mobile phone part of your statement but as far as an internet provider I would highly recommend 3bb. I moved from a place that had free internet to a house where I had to find for myself. True and some others rubbed me the wrong way, then 3bb came out with a little team of people, hooked it up, I paid and that was that. The connection speed is the same all the time, 4mbps. I can have it increased to 16 at any time. They have a hotline and speak really good English. You might want to call them and tell them your concerns. I don't have there numbers at hand but can provide if you like or I imagine they'd be on the web. By the way I live in KK.

  4. This is total trash. Thak can't be compared to Aung San Suu Kyi. He is a lying, cheating, vengeful sack of crap and she is an honorable person. Forget about this prison mess. The best thing is for somebody to blow Thak's head off and screw the reds if they don't like it. Maybe heard them up and sell them to a Brazilian gold mine. Screw em.

  5. I second that the Tiger 250 is a good bike for the price. Tiger are not really secretive as such but Thailand is not really their market. They sell a lot of bikes in the Philipenes. Also they have been burned a few times here in Thailand. Any way back to the bike.

It is capable of 140ish (remember its only a 5 speed). but cruises at about 110-120kmh. It is comfortably (but you may need to remake the saddle if you have a big arse. I have) The low to midrange power is very good, when cruising at 100 just twist the throttle for more go. Can get a bit buzzy at sustained 130ish but nothing to bad. I rode one Bangkok to Khon Kaen and back, other than the seat i liked it for what it was, a small, light, cheap bike. I do prefer more speed and power myself though.

As an upgrade from a Wave to a real bike it is a great choice.

    Allan

Hi, I didn't know they did anything outside of Thailand and I guess secretive was not a good choice of words but if they've been burned that explains a lot. Anyway, the 250 sounds like about what I'm looking for. I just don't want to spend a lot on a bike right now and I hear it's good in traffic so that's a plus. Sort of a compromise bike. I mean I'd love to get a Ducati but who wouldn't? Anyway I've had a couple CanAm enduro bikes but no street bikes other than this Wave which is not too shabby for just running around locally.

Anyway thanks again. I might go to Tiger in BKK and check 'em out or just ride one of the cop's 200s here in KK.

  6. Hi Carnac,

Here you should find all the info you need. www.tigersachsclub.com if you wish to know anything specific that isn't mentioned on the site specify the question and i shall answer. The Boxer 250RS is a very decent bike and has enough power and torque to do even longer runs on it. The Service has on all occasions above and beyond as other Tiger Owners will confirm.

    happy trails,

    Tiger/Sachs Club - Mbox

    Hi, Thank for the input.

  7. I am thinking of getting a bigger bike that can move at decent cruising speeds easily. Have a Wave 125. I noticed the Tiger Boxer 250 and liked the looks, the upright rider position and relative compact design, but after having read more about I have some doubts. The Tiger Bike company seems to be very odd and either very low key or secretive. I don't know. They don't promote the products as one might think, the website is antiquated but the pricing is outstanding, if of course the bike is worth a dam_n. Maybe for 72k Bt one couldn't expect too much. If I cannot gain more confidence in the Tiger 250 then I will be leaning toward a second hand Japanese brand I suppose. Any Tiger experts out there?

  8. I would estimate about a 5% chance of success on a tourist for her to the US without outside help. I would suggest you contact tslthailand.com and speak with Virginia. This company is very good at what they do and are very professional and you will not be screwed. I have used them on occasion especially when I took wife to US. They are located across from the US embassy in Sindhorn bldg on Wireless.
