  1. One morning whilst watching Thai Channel 3 I noticed one of the 4 girls on the morning show (Kalamare) wearing a T-shirt that said 'I am so happy I could shit' !!

Obviously nobody in the wardrobe department had bothered to check the English.

    Jesus :-s

  2. Last time I was in the States, there was an instance where I was in a shopping mall looking for a bathroom.

I walked in and there was a Mexican cleaning lady mopping the floor.

Thinking nothing of it, I proceeded to use the urinal and she starts screaming for me to get out.

I thought I was going to be arrested for indecent exposure.....

Haha, true! Back home you have to wait for the cleaning ladies to finish before taking a pee. I had completely forgotten!

  3. They ve got good courts at the British Club as well, but it s very expensive to become a member. Moreover, I do not know if they have a tennis academy for kids.

I know for a fact that one of the coaches of the British Club coaches at the Le Smash Club as well (I am a member there), so you might as well give them a try as their courts are very good and they don't cost near as much as the British Club smile.gif.

And I'm sure Le Smash has a good tennis academy for kids. At least that is what my tennis friends there tell me!

    Cheers!

  4. The Japanese do say Tokyo is well overdue for a major quake. Some of the buildings there are really tall. I remember staying on the 74th floor of a hotel there; had a nice view of Mount Fuji. It seems pretty clear that you can do alot of preparation, but you cannot overcome nature? The forces are just too great?

I don't believe the biggest problem was the earthquake itself, but the following tsunami...

  5. They've been dropping the price and reducing services (and providing bad services- pushing training sessions and then pretending trainers are too busy to train people, etc.) for some time now. A lot of the trainers oversell briefly, collect their bonuses, and then quit. I figure that they're squeezing out as much profit as possible (at the owner's behest- he's doing pretty well right now, I heard)- and then they'll sell themselves to someone or go out of business and all the contracts will be bust. I figure you're lucky if you get 2-3 more years out of them, if that.

You simply can't expect excellent service and world-class material for such a cheap price. You get what you pay for!

  6. Hi, and welcome to Bangkok. I'm sure you ll love it out here!

I'm a tennis fan, just like yourself. I m a member at Le Smash Club (by car 5min from the Asoke BTS without traffic), and to be honnest I m very happy about it! A friend of mine advised me to go there and have a look, and I was sold immediately. Yes, they do have nice dressing rooms and a spa and a restaurant, but I don't really care about that. I mean, it s nice to have lovely dressing rooms etc, but I just want to be able to play tennis on a decent court!! And I must say, the court surface is great. Apparently it s the same surface as the US Open courts, so no complaining there :)

Anyway, off course there are many other tennis clubs in Bangkok. But comparing to what other people tell me and to what I have seen (and felt in my wallet), le Smash Club is very good. I paid 9500Baht for the yearly membership, and now paying 100 Baht per hour. I think that s a very fair price, and to my knowledge there is no other club that offers the same price/quality in Bangkok!

Hope this helps you out a bit!

    cheers
