Can't help but agree with Chanchao. Chiang Mai, two words, has always seemed to be more appropriate to me.

But seriously. I am frequently dumbfounded by the requirements some businesses have for documentation. My Moo Bahn required Passport, house registration, birth certificate, Wife's IDCard, Marriage license and a bank reference before they would issue a parking permit.

Needless to say I refused and I now carry bolt cutters to remove any clamp that might be applied.
