  1. I just returned from Saigon. Before going I paid BT$800 for a visa on arrival service. However, at the airport people were going to the visa window, getting an application, filling it out and with your passport and a photo were getting the visa. You also had to pay the fee. It seems that all those companies charging for this service have been cut out.

Has anyone else seen or done this?

  2. OK, the money belt is for Vietnam. I go to Vung Tau and the small hotels don't have a safe and I don't want to leave my passport in the room. The heating pad is for a bad back (dam helicopter went down). It is 24 x 24 cm. You plug it in and it has a temp control that can get pretty hot. I also use it for my bonion. The bowling shoes - I like to bowl but because of the bonion I cannot use the bowling alley shoes. I have to buy my own and cut a hole so the bonion does not bark at me.

    Best

  3. Hello, I am looking for a photographer at a reasonable price per picture. These would be outdoor shots that I would use for a website. They would also have to sign-off on the copywrite for the photos.

I am also looking for the contract forms in English and Thai giving me the copywrite.

    Thank you

  4. I recently rented a large and very smart apartment for 6 weeks whilst i had my house renovated.

It was very nice, large room with wireless Internet, hot shower ect..

It was on 3rd road near the Snooker place and the Car wash, past Pattayaklang.

The rent was 6 Thousand Baht a Month, and when i checked out after 6 weeks, my electric bill was 60 bt lol.

Extremely nice people who owned the place (Thai)

Please PM me if you want anymore details.

Do you have a telephone contact no. or email. Thanks

  5. If you are asking if you stay longer than the date you wrote down on your permit application, no, that's doesn't effect your permit UNLESS the reentry date is after the expiry date of your current permission to stay on the retirement extension.

I had just renewed my Thai retirement visa for one year so it is good until May 2012. I wrote on my one time exit entry application that I would return on 2 July but I may stay in Taiwan until 9 July. From what you said I am OK. Thank you

  6. I think your best bet is to find a good beef supplier, someone who sells to the hotels as the retail stores will raise the price by 15 to 20%. For them to deliver you will have to buy quantity. You can pass that savings on to your customers. It also depends on who you are selling to and your pricing. Australian and New Zeland folks are use to grass fed beef (The Aussies are now also grain feeding and have some beautiful grain fed beef). Americans will not eat grass fed as they are use to grain fed. You may want to offer both, again, depending who your customers are. Villa Market has a good range of quality and pricing but be careful of ordering and paying for this cut (BT$900) and receiving this cut (BT$600).

As you are asking about where to source beef it sounds like you are new to the business. If you want to learn about reading the marbling and such let me know.

  7. I believe I just got scammed at ***** . I bought a pot roast at 800 a kilo and I think they switched it with the local buffalo meat at 300 baht a kilo. There is no way I can prove it now.
