You will need to leave the country to change from a Non O to a B, I've just done that with a BOI company.
Permanent residence? Well it's a 2 year visa to work and that's it as far as I'm aware.
-
I have a NON O ME based on marriage.
Recently started work in BKK and tried to cancel my Non O when back in Laos for my Non B. They dont do it. So i currently have 2 valid visas in my passport.
Word of caution. When coming back in with non b check they've used it. I didn't despite writing that visa number on mycard at the border, didnt check and had to drive 520km next day round trip to correct it

I thought the non o based on marriage permitted work.
Maybe it does, but I'm working for a company in BKK on a BOI 2 year Work Permit so its much better for me, plus they don't accept my Non O

Happened to me last month at Mukdahan also. I have a Non O Marriage, went to get Non B for Work, didnt cancel my Non O at Consul despite asking them too.
Came back to Thailand, put Non B Visa number on immigration form, Immigration stamped me back in on my Non O. I too was in a hurry and the O was written like a B. Drove home to KK, looked again...had to drive back the next morning to get it corrected. Took 5 minutes, lots of apologies from them, but an additional 7 hours driving there and back.
I always check and preach about it, so only myself to blame.

What's a KR2?Is an up to date KR2 needed? I have heard differing reports.
Are there any days considered to be quiet?
Sounds like you have been before@Chudless. What day are you going?

I salute you mate, truly.
Your account was well written and worthy of its length. I cannot begin to comprehend what you and your daughter went through,.emotionally especially.
You are clearly a decent person and I'm glad that things basically worked out well, at least for you and your daughter, except your relationship of course.
I wish you both the very best for the future, and if you are ever in the Khon Kaen area, PM me.... I'd gladly meet you for a pint.

Just brush them off, no biggie.

Thanks Joe, the font of all knowledge. You can close this topic if you so wish, no further info needed.

However local immigration will want the proof right?
Cheers
-
Do they issue one of these without proof of income as well as the multi-entry?
If so, once issued does that involve 90 day reporting to local immigration?
Thanks
-
Could someone advise the latest requirements please i.e. paperwork needed etc?
Is proof of 400k baht still not required?
Times for submission? Collection (next day now right)?
Cheap hotels nearby Embassy?
Safe parking at Bridge (thai side)?
Many thanks in advance

I'm 300 metres from my in laws and it works great. Never intended to, we bought a house off plan in the city but having postage stamp size land led us to pull out of the deal and build on a rai in the village. Best thing I ever done. Peace and quiet, nice people, great family, lovely big garden for the kids....never happier. It's your own choice, make your decision regardless of comments here.

False....been a rumour for a few years now. He really should consider it though, as thr local Army course is pathetic

Like any visa - it can be transferred into a new passport.
Immigration could change the laws at any time which means they could cancel the Visa.
As ukrules mentioned - Thai Elite was threatened with closure a few years ago. During that period (a few months) no new visa's were issued, existing visas were honoured.
The service is good - there are threads running which members have commented on their levels of satisfaction which basically boils down to how much they value their time and how they value avoiding the hassles associated with application and renewal of other long term visas.
Airport transfer is very handy.
The free (included) yearly medical is useful - it encourages me to take a medical yearly !
The Golf & Massage are just 'dressing' but handy if you play golf and have friends to play with who are also members or don't mind paying for some of the more expensive courses.
Wrong!
Valid Visas are never transferred !
A valid visa remains valid even within an expired passport. It is necessary to present both old and new passports to immigration if travelling.
Absolute rubbish!!!! New passport last week and had to transfer my existing valid visa to my new passport.

I got my new one last week and they now insist on cutting thr corners there and then, and giving you a letter to transfer existing visa. I done that back in KK no issues.
-
Absolute rubbish and inaccurate about glasses....if you read it correctly you should wear glasses if a full time wearer....all my UK passports have ALWAYS had my photo with specs, just not allowed sunglasses etc. Get it right before posting crap.

9 to 3 with an appointment.
I used my thai driving license last month with translation from a proper business in KK...no issues. Thr UK side had an issue with my photos and I had to DHL more as my glasses slightly rain along my eye line. ...crazy.
Check your paperwork, recheck it then check it again...the VFS 'service' only checks thr papers match thr requirements AND DO NOT CHECK THR CONTENT!!
Thailand’s crazy laws - it’s just as well many people just ignore them - they are “a ass”

If you're going to use English slang, get it right. It's sovs not sobs....a sov is Cockney slang for a quid (even though a sovereign used to the equivalent of 1 pound 5 pence)
