We all know that the price of 22k baht paid by the OP is high but the agent is going far and beyond.....
'I didn't know location was an issue. I NEVER go there, she always comes to me, or meets me at the immigration office'
Not too many agents will come to you, so I reckon the 22k is on the money.
You are paying for the convenience, some people have difficulty in travelling, mobility is an issue, so having an agent come to you is going to cost more.
Thanks for this....
I check in here regularly, because I think it's the least I can do for people who go out of the way to respond to a post of mine. So, I was pretty excited to come on here this morning and see how many new contributions there were. I got optimistic.
Sadly, it turns out to be some debate about whether or not I want to drag my 70 year old body onto a bus to save 10K baht...
But, it's nice to see you get it.
Let me gist this:
I live in bkk, I'm old af. I am far from wealthy, but my economic circumstances are such that spending 22K baht annually to never have to interact with immigration besides showing up at CW once a year for about 90 minutes to do the bank verification and the initial meeting with immigration, at which I say absolutely nothing, is no hardship at all.
When I first came back to Thailand after being in covid exile in the US, I selected an agent VERY POORLY.... which resulted in a ton of anxiety and immigration issues as she'd gotten my visa 60 days late, and in another province. After that experience I found the person/group I work with now, and they have been really quite good.
What prompted me to post this was two things: 1. The person I'm dealing with either has employees, or others with whom she collaborates, and they seem to be the ones working with me now.. they have been less responsive and are no longer proactive at all... this isn't a massive issue, but it's a bit of a pain for me to have to chase after them to schedule stuff like my 90 day. 2. As has become the focus of most posts on this thread, I was not burdened by the 22K fee, but I did have questions in my mind about whether that pricing was competitive for what I was receiving.
As of now, I've not had a reply which includes information about a preferable alternative to my current situation.

Were you dealing with 'Grace' at Thai visa centre?
I sent an email inquiry, they replied... I just looked back and all their emails are unsigned.

Sorry, not sure who you are referring to by "The agent you used".
if you mean Thai Visa Expert, then I'm even more confused.
4 minutes ago, proton said:The agent you used quoted me 16k without the funds, that was from a province I do not live in. I was not seriously considering using them. 22k and 28k when you have the funds seem like outrageous prices for just going the paper work

@HermosaBeachGuy in Bangkok Integrity Legal is good but pricy. I also used PVTS on a different matter, good enough and affordable (for a vanilla visa my guess is 14,000b). Or you can always go to your local immigration office (I suggest you bring a thai female friend who isnt intimidated by thai government workers). Good luck.
BTW I grew up in Torrance; my dad drove us down Artesia Blvd and let us out to surf HB 25th St. Lathered up in smelly SPF 8 Coppertone suntan lotion, whose afraid of a little sunburn. Were those the good old days or what.
I worked in Torrance for a while.. not a bad spot at all.. I played volleyball every Saturday morning at Hermosa in front of Good Stuff for about 25 years.
Thanks, I have a lady now.. she's been "pretty good", but a bit less responsive this past year. That's why I'm looking around. I don't find the 22K I'm paying to be either excessive or much of a burden, I was just looking around to see if there were better options.
Thanks for your time and response.

fyi, Thai Visa Expert quoted me 29,800 baht for the same service.

OP, just to be 100% clear .. you are looking for agent to cover the financial requirements?
Are your previous stamps issued by CW or elsewhere
No. I have over 800K in a thai bank. I'm just looking for someone to do the paperwork and be my interaction with immigration personnel.
The agent I use now also handles my 90 day check ins.
all in CW, as I know.

They have their purpose, leave it at that.
To the OP, you might like to state WHERE you are located.
Oh, sorry, I'm in Phra Khanong now, but this is the same agent I used in Sathorn, so I didn't know location was an issue. I NEVER go there, she always comes to me, or meets me at the immigration office.
And THANK YOU SO MUCH, for your help with keeping this thread focused... no need at all for advice or opinions.

So, I assumed there would be a thread like this, but I did scroll 3 pages of this forum before posting and found nothing. I'm not very successful using the search feature on this site.
Sorry if this is redundant.
I'm living here long term on a retirement visa. For various reasons, I've preferred to use an agent to facilitate my interactions with Thai Visa personnel. For the past 3 years, I've used a woman who, for 22K baht, has handled my annual renewal and my 90 day check ins.
In this past year, she's become less responsive and sort of sloppy in communication.
So, I'm looking for any recommendations for a replacement.
Sorry, but this is the only thing I'm looking for.
please either reply here, or feel free to dm me.
thanks

Woodstreet, you can find it on Google Maps.
Very cool, thanks. Sadly, it's out near Chatachuk, and I live up near Phra Khanong. I'm quite old, so getting out is a bit of bother... but if I can't find anything online, I do an excursion.
Thanks again.

I'd like to try my hand at making some small boxes and cabinets. for the boxes, think med/large sewing box size, for the cabinets think a deep medicine cabinet above a sink.
My point is, I just need a small amount of wood. But, I'd like to work with some nice hardwoods...maybe mahogany or teak (I'm not yet educated about local hardwood options....).
Does anyone have any suggestions, since Google has recently become so bloated and unhelpful, about where I can source wood of this nature?
thanks

My comment on prices were not for you alone. The thread topic is in fact with regard to prices. I just used your post as a basis for discussing that. I had already sent you details privately some eight minutes beforehand. So was somewhat taken aback by your reply.
Understood. I was certain, upon reflection, that you were assuming I'd seen your pm before reading your post. That's why I was so ready to apologize. I guess I do things in a different order than you. I'm certain we both can live with that.

Perhaps you should have held your tongue until you checked your private messages. An apology here will do, so you posted your rudeness here.
I'm happy to apologize, since you've been very helpful. As to "rude", I actually thanked you first. my comments really were meant to curtail the type of long running analysis I've seen in this thread in times past. While no offense was intended, I'm happy to apologize if any were taken.

Your price guide is way off. Brick is as little a 2 baht per gram for a larger amount. Maybe 6% THC. You can buy a good quality of trim for perhaps 4 baht per gram. Perhaps 10% THC or more. No need to buy flowers for making edibles unless for some specialist product.
I don't buy myself, but I can see the prices and product from links already posted within this thread.
Thanks, but, as I've said since my OP, I'm looking for sources, not a commentary on our times and prices. If you know someone, please hit me up.... thanks

The last batch of oil I made I used a medium quality grade of weed. I used more weed to make the oil than what is typically recommended for the amount of oil used, but I figured I would use more weed to try and make the oil more potent. And using a larger amount of mid grade weed was still more cost effective than using a smaller amount of top grade stuff.
So it seemed to make sense to use more of a lower priced weed to seemingly come out with the same result as using the recommended amount of higher priced stuff.
I am very satisfied with the result too. Taste, smell, potency, all excellent. But I am still wondering if i were to use a higher quality grade of weed next time if it will make any difference to the potency of the final outcome.
It doesn't seem to, but given the price disparity (14 baht a gram for brick vs 200+ a gram for flower), I'm not curious, as long as the quality is ok. I did buy a bag of clipping from someone that was useless, but it was really cheap. The "good" trimmings are typically at least 50 baht a gram.
If anyone knows a lower cost supplier of quality product to be used for oil, I'd love to know. I need to replace my old person who has vanished.

I've found that my best results for edibles are with plain brick weed. Using decent weed or trim doesn't produce proportionately better oil/cannibutter. With brick I can use alot more weed which seems to be the primary variable in oil strength.
I agree... I'm seeking a source, if you know one, please msg me.

Is this thread still active? I'm looking for a source for bricks to make stuff out of.
Suggestions?

I only use a dry herb vaporizer. So no damage at all to respiratory system and still all the benefits of smoking, such as feeling it right away as opposed to having to wait with an edible. The only downside to these devices used to be price with most of them coming in at over 10,000 Baht. But now you can get a really decent one made in Thailand for under 2,000 Baht (Anix Virgo) and a higher quality imported one for around 3,000-3,500 Baht (Xmax Starry 4).
I also recently discovered that AVB (already vaped bud) still retains about 25%-30% of its original THC content. Which means it's great for making oil instead of just throwing it away and it's already decarbed (from vaping it) so it's faster to make oil from AVB than fresh weed. So now I'm saving up my AVB and will eventually make some cannabis oil from it. About 15 grams of AVB will be enough to produce about half a cup of high potency THC infused MCT oil.
That's not my only downside... for whatever reason, the vapes make me cough a ton more than smoking... I really wish it wasn't the case, because I believe they are less harsh on my lungs.
-
I'm giving this a try...
So, I'm pretty set for cannabis suppliers... But, I recall quite a ways back having a couple of contacts on telegram or whatsapp who had "additional goodies" available.
If anyone knows such a contact, hit me up please. Down is better than up for me, fyi.

Sounds good for your needs. But any extracts containing more than 0.2% THC are illegal in Thailand. So probably most people aren't taking that path. People looking for weed here will presumably either be smoking or vaping it. Also, using oils with extracts in a vaporizer or a dab rig aren't good for the respiratory system. Assume you're just ingesting the oil though.Actually, for me, infusing oil is MUCH better for my respiratory system. I consume it orally, and thus my actual smoking is reduced by more than 65%. And now, I'm mostly smoking hash, as it also requires less smoke per effect, in my experience.

yeah, sorry. Decided it wasn't the proper time.

I would like to find one or two older cats to adopt. I live in a pretty good sized flat in a quiet road in Phra Khanong. They would be house cats.
Most of the stuff I'm seeing on search engines looks a few years old, so I'm wondering if anyone has any recent experience/information.
Thanks,

Contact them on Line it seems to be their preferred method of follow up (like so many Thai business), I have ordered multiple times and never a problem other than communication after the order, good luck
Thanks. I probably ought have circled back there, but I think I just used the website here, and selected email to communicate.. likely my bad.
Bottom line: The product finally arrived 7 days later than the first provider, so I guess they're honest, but slow.... -
So this was a provider recommended above. I placed and paid for my order 7 days ago, at the same time I placed a trial order with another provider recommended here. the first provider's product arrived within 28 hrs. and was as advertized.
This provider has sent nothing, and not replied to 3 of my emails thus far.
I'm not making any recommendations here, just providing my actual data/experience.
Do with it as you will.
