  1. Having lived in four countries, I look at this is a different way. The key is how much money you have the potential to save in a year while also living a quality lifestyle. I've worked in the US, Japan, Singapore and Thailand and the pay in itself is not the best barometer of savings potential. Since when overseas you need to save for your own retirement, it's how much you are able to put away that is the most important factor. It's not easy to figure out (tax rates, housing, flights, etc.), but to me it's the key. My salary is about half of what it was in Singapore but I'm saving just as much money due to the wildly different cost of living.

  2. Bangkok airways says in an announcement that if you're flying them domestically you check in at the old terminal but if you're flying them internationally you check in at the new international terminal. I picked up a friend Friday night on a Jetstar flight from Singapore and that was also what he was told. I am pretty certain that domestic flights = old terminal and international = new one.

I"m flying to Bangkok in a couple of weeks and will park at HKT. Does anyone know how to park in the new multi-story parking garage and walk to the old terminal? Is there a link/connection from the new terminal and if so, how to find it?
