  1. P.S  If even the Point that the Thai Index is  with actual 1600 Points more or less at the same level like 25 Years ago...????... I can recommend following Brokers ( all from own experience) ASP, Bualuang and KTZMICO are the best here in my view.

The Research is good and in English as well, the Fees are low and at least KTzmico and ASP have/ had  no Minimum Fee .

The obvious place to start is https://marketdata.set.or.th/mkt/marketsummary.do

You might find https://thaistocks.com/ has some helpful general information.

I guess Thaistocks.com is the most terrible Site to learn about Invest in Thai Stocks. The Owner of the Website  recommend in the last Years only crap.

Most of his advice was completely Shit. I guess it is more an Way to earn some Money for himself over Subscription Fees .

He recommendations are mostly Loss Making ,terrible Managed Small Caps  like CHO,PPS BWG, Demco and an endless Stream of other Stocks in the past 3 Years who lost 30-70% since he screaming it an strong buy.

So even if the run 100% from here you still sitting on Losses.

The Thai Stock Market is clearly for Trading not for Investors.

Most of Small Caps / Micro Caps ends up usually somewhere in the Satang Level sooner or later.

Whenever they make an nice Rally up you MUST to Sell same like most Thai Traders do.

Big Cap Shares doing relatively well as they included in Big International Indices like MSCI or FTSE.  There you can find  good some decent Managed Company’s like CPF, BKI,AIT, TTW, TU, HANA , BJC ,etc.

They pay mostly as well an sustainable Dividend why most Small / Micro Caps are mostly pay nothing or tiny unstable Dividends that sometimes suspended for Years .

if you like to have an good Exposure to Thai Stocks then  I think you start with some ETF on the MSCI Thailand that is listed on the SET like BMSCITH or the SET 50 with the Symbol TDEX or the High Dividend Index with Symbol   1 DIV. The last one comes with Good Dividends as well...

So you have an Market Return along with Dividends . The ETFs are more expensive then in Western Country’s but still better then most of extremely expensive ( as an lot of hidden costs) Thai Mutual Funds .

Thai Mutual Funds are costly and underperform..if you not need here better invest in Mutual Funds from well known Company’s like Fidelity,Templeton,Blackrock.

However, sometimes Thai Fund Company’s just use this big International Funds Name it as their Own( Feeder Fund) and out another Annual Fee on Top..

    STAY AWAY!!

As I Trade close to 25Years on Thai Stock Market I guess everyone take an closer Look how it works here as the Market is much more different here with an lot of Insider Trading, Fraud and Dodgy Moves with Warrants, Private Placements ,Capital Increases etc from the Company’s.

Don’t forget in Thailand most Company has no real Interrest to create Wealth for external Shareholders so they use it mostly as an Financial Tool.

It will be more then Difficult to beat the Index ( together with Dividends) so i guess the ETF is o.k for an Beginner.

My Broker told me in Thai Stock Market more then 70% of Retail Investors loose Money...and i guess this Number is maybe even smaller then the Reality....

Stay away from all self appointed Advisors here please! They want to create Wealth for them Self not for others...

Good  free Information you can find at the Facebook Page from Barton’s Asia Charts and as well from  Pon with his Website named Thai Capitalist.com.

Actually Mr Thaistocks (if it's the guy I think it is ) has been around since the early 90's marketing a strategy of buying small cap high dividend yield Thai companies to international investors. It's been an incredibly successfull strategy and in terms of percentage return I would not be surprised if he isn't the the most successful fund manager in the history of the Thai stock market (in percentage return not absolute quantum) If he followed his own advice which I think he did then he's probably richer than anyone posting on this board. It doesn't mean he is a property expert but he does understand economics and markets. Why he"s choosing to make a post like this baffles me. Maybe he's retired and misses the action

May you want to take an look to the longer Term Charts of his Stock Tips : TTCL, DEMCO, CHO, STPI, ILINK, BJCHI  DCON,EA,  To name an few ,usually down at least  between 40-70% . In the same Time the Market go up just shy to an All Time High.... Fun Fact: The Stocks that performe well in the Market was Banks and Mega Caps like cpall and BH  and the Index ETF like TDEX. This Big Caps he never liked....

  4. I am looking also for an Dermatologist as i have an suspicionof Skin Canver but i want stay away from Bangkok Pattaya Hospital as my Insurance pay every Hospital in or Around Pattaya but refuse BPH because their of excessive Costs compare to other Hospitals.

As i learned the Doctors work sometimes in two or more Different Hospitals, someon know that this highly recommend Dr. Anna work somewhere else too?

I found some good Tips here already, may i try the Pattaya International first , or someone has an Visit lately somewhere?

  5. "crane" Reach the Target of 4.20 and even go 4.36 until now... So if you want keep with an Tight SL..otherwise take the huge Profit if you bought at 2.38 and move some to DEMCO( the First Quarter earnings will be bad again, lets see how the market will react or TTCL. Outside the Construction Sector it looks like some Food/Soft Stocks wake up like KSL, TFG or APURE. I also still like THRE even if they go nowhere for Years, so it is not an Buy at the Moment but worth an look if they wake up later...

  6. // And buy Stocks like: CRANE (2.38)(very speculative, but have often very good Runs ) //

Humm... CRANE just published its result for the fiscal year: http://www.set.or.th/set/newsdetails.do?newsId=14563534505520&language=en&country=US

    Net profit:

    - 2014 : 239 millions baht

    - 2015 : -45 millions baht (lost!)

As i said before it is an speclulative One. But as the Stock correct around 50 % already in the last 4 Month it is possible that the "bad News" are priced in. So, if we go down an bit more on that News i expect that it can be an good chance for the speclulative Trader.

Dont forget that many of this small or Mid Caps dont have an professionell Management, mostly they have compare to Western Standards an Lousy Management ,so the Earnings swing often wild around without Guidance from the Company itself. Many Times they Increase the Capital by 100 %! of the outstanding Stocks, and diluting the Shareholders massive, private Placements to Family Members,Insider Trading etc.. so be warned :) But as i mention before the swings are great for Traders. I still think that some of this "wild" Small and Mid Caps are worth to buy now... As always on the SET Market make an an S/L that pretend you from bigger losses if something in this Country goes wrong...

  7. Some weeks ago at 1220 i post here that it is worth to take some Position in the Set.. it was good luck as it was near the Low. I still think that we are in an Bigger Bear Market but from this 1220/1250 level we see maybe an bigger Run to around 1400.+/-

As the General spend big amounts of Money for short-term pseudo-prosperity, backed
primarily by the Construction Sector it make sense to take some Short Term Position.
At the first Round they push up the Big Caps like PTT,TOP, BBL etc. now maybe it make sense to look at the 2end Row..
And buy Stocks like: CRANE (2.38)(very speculative, but have often very good Runs ) ITD (6.55) CNT (3.08) THRE (2.84 ) TTCL (16.80) or UEC(2.80). Just my Ideas , make your own Decisions. But as i trade many Years at this Market i think they look ready to Jump. The most Important Lesson is in Thai market is SELL if there is an Profit. This Market now is for Trading ...
  8. @ Pattaya 46 At www. Thai capitalist.com you can find good and useful Information. This Guy knows the market well and give good Information. Sadly there are not much good Sites about the Thai Stock Market. There is one Guy here who run an paid Website, but he was fully Invested in the latest Bear Market Run to 1220 so he loose his Shirt, but he still believe that he is the Best. Not unusual for this "Market Letters" to cheer the Profits and forget the Losses. It is hard work in Thailand for an Foreigner to find the right Information. The Thai Market have nice Swings that are worth to Trade...

  9. Anyone here trade CFD's I tend to just trade crude oil here in the U.K but I do have the glimmer of hope that one day I could make it in to a full time job which would allow me to travel more.

The " Classic CFD s" as you know them from Europe or the U.k. they not traded here. But there is an Future Market for the SET 50 Index and as well for Oil and Gold. As far as i know ,from an Friend who work for an Broker, they are created to loose.. You are much better with your CFD Broker in the U.K..

After all the Thai Market is volatile enough so as i am an Trader here and make it for my living here i dont need more Excitement with the even more dangerous Futures... smile.png As i said before for Traders the Market here is great as they are always some Stocks that swings around, even in an exrteme Bear Market. For Investments you better stay away from Thailand and use the Regulated Markets.

  10. Many years ago I considered it and paid an astute analyst to examine the market here............... he had no financial gain to answer either yes or no.

His report was that activities were not "transparent" & that many company officer's future profit projections were often seen through "rose colored glasses" ....it was and still is too great a

risk for me with returns not commensurate with such a big risk.

It seems that your Advisor/ astute analyst makes an great Job. As an Stock Trader here at the Local Market for many Years i can only agree. Many Companies give misleading Statements or not warn Investors if Projects goes wrong , they are involved in Big Insider Trading (CPALL) (SSI) and dilute Shareholders by Massive Capital Increases or Private Placements to "Family and Friends" sometimes 50-90% below last Trading Price .. Every single Trading day they are more then 20-30 Companies suspended from Trading (sometimes for Months ) as they are not able to deliver the latest Financial Reports or can get the Signature of a certified Accountant. Thai Companies are not very Shareholder Friendly for minority Shareholders and most of Companies use an High Share Price to "cash in" rather then to create some Value.

All these have rarely consequences for the involved Persons and if so the Fines are ridiculousy small. THE SEC is perfectly "Thai Style" you even not get an answer for Complaints..

If someone want to cash in the Big up and down Movements of the SET the ETF "TDEX" or some of the BIG,BIG Caps like PTT/BBL are an good start for the experienced investor with an High Risk Tolerance Level..

  11. The Thai economy is expected to grow faster into the 2nd half then the US, consensus being 2.8% vs. US 2.5%. Tourism and mostly mega infrastructure spending boom will drive things higher next year. A lower Baht helps, so do much lower oil prices, not least the new economic team just appointed today. Lots of negative expats and doomsters around here which have missed the SET uneven rise over the past 5-10 years. People usually "don't like what they don't' understand", and so it is with the SET.

Would you like to have all of that engraved on your tombstone?

    cheesy.gif

Where is this guy thaistocks today, LOL? I've been trying to tell people for more than two years, but especially since the junta.

    Cheers.

Maybe he lick his wounds as for Today the Market is up strong but his Selection of Micro Caps like DCON,WHA,CRANE etc. are still in the RED :) Will come out for shure again if these Stocks will have an Run again and will tell us that we not Wise and Smart enough.

But then again after this Small and Micro Caps loose somewhat between 40-70% maybe it makes sense to collect some for an Rebound Speculation.. As the Thai Market and this Mirco Caps is only for Traders never for Investors over the Longterm..

  12. Could be an interesting couple of days - in an email exchange with Maybank Kim Eng this morning the following comment was made:

"from my point of view I think that the worst case for SET index in case that FED increases interest rate is 1,200 points. If not , index will rebound for short term"

So the Guys was right....for now..

Kim Eng is an good Broker and the Research is far better then from most of "self Appointed" Experts

  13. At present select stock prices you can nail about 4% in dividend yields while you await the rebound. Or 4 times more then money in the bank here. Also dividends only pay 10% tax at the source, vs. 15% on interest income.

Besides, there are some current booming sectors in the Thai economy, example renewable energy...where Thailand is the region's leader. In today BKK Post the govt. re-affirms its commitment to renewables.

Also, Markets are forward looking and if the economy is bottoming around now, still a bit if, the SET market has already touched its low point.

Oh Thaistocks...contrary to your statements over the past Month in various Posts the SET trading now at an 2 Year low and your recommended stocks are deep, deep in the Red and faces hardly unassailable losses.

I know that you recommended on your Site in the Middle of 2015 unknown Stocks like Crane (-50% and Counting) "Dcon" (-70% and Counting) "Demco" for Renewable Energy as well minus 50% ....

Well, i am shure that you will find an Timeline in which you can talk about Big, Big Profits but as you pretend yourself to be an great expert it makes sense to read your old Posts here.

The Thai market is Volatile and perfect for Traders if you know the " Rules" of this Market.

To think the Average Thai Investor will put the Money in the Stock Market is more an Dream then Real.

No matter in which market you invest not put your hard Earned Money in so called Experts who pretend they know everything..

btw ..The Set NOW !! at 1220 points is maybe an bet for the Short Term :) just my small recommendation..for Free and without guarantee :)

then you have not been advised in strong downtrend to purchase
  14. Is there an Property Glut or not? Who knows but it is true that if you want to sell your Condo or House now you deep in the Shit as you must to offer huge discounts or you can find an Buyer. Mostly in the Tourist Destinations Phuket, Pattaya, Hua Hin.

Maybe the Thai Stock market is an good or Early Indicator as the Index holding not too bad giving the state of economy in Thailand with an loss of lets say around 25% from the TOP most of the Smaller Developer and Properties PcL's (to be fair, together with an lot of others formerly extreme overpriced Stocks) hit very hard with losses from 30-60% . So if it is true, what the so called Markets want to tell us then we will see maybe some more deterioration in Prices ...

  15. In the last Weeks i feel very weak and feeling unwell on the whole Left Bodypart ..together with an tingling feeling in the Hand and an unrest feeling.

As in the last days i feel as well some Pain in the Heart and Shoulder Area i think i need to visit an Specialized Doctor.

With an treatment of High blood pressure io was before in BH Pattaya but i feel upset with their overcharged and Highluy Inflated Prices that are even now more expensive than the Hospitals back Home. I know that the overcharge from Farang is an usual Practice here but if possible i try to avoid. For Instance for My Blood Pressure Pills they sold me at an Price for 3600THB /Month that i got in Boots later for 1200/Month (They told me it is not possible to get them outside) for CC Payments they try the DCC Settlement without asking me first(what they must to do) http://www.smh.com.au/business/banking-and-finance/dynamic-currency-conversion--robbery-by-choice-20150330-1ma77q.html

So make an long story Short ,my Trust in BH is gone so i hope that someone know an good Cardiologist outside the BH in Pattaya our maybe in Sri Racha or Rayong as well.

  16. So for now i think all banks "join the Rip-Off the Farang" Party.

Today try at Krung Sri and Thanachart with VISA CC both charge now 180THB.

The biggest Problem here is that there is no competition within the Banks all charge the same at the same Time increase the fees..there was for shure some Phone Calls beetween the Biggest Banks how to squeeze out more from the Farangs...:(

  17. If you pay with Master or Visa now in Central Festival, Tesco, Boots or in Bangkok Hospital and mant Hotels you must to take an look as well as now more and more Business owners in Thailand join the Scam. So make shure that you tell the Cashier that you want to pay ONLY in THB. The try to cheat me the other Day in Tesco North Pattaya..so i refuse to sign and they cancel the Whole Shopping Cart Items. After they scan it all piece by piece agian..... I think it is the only way to fighting back to this DCC Scam.

  18. How does this and the other 2 topics on the Thai economy on todays news fit with he recent Fitch upgrade?

They( the Rating GUYS) are ALWAYS behind the Curve..Greece was Investmet Grade until erryone know that they cant pay theier Debt...It is an grat contra Indicator..if Fitch or S P downgrade Thailand to Junk in an Decade or so you can think to invest again:) If they give them another Upgrade take your Money and RUN!!!
