Just to avoid confusion, as it in previous years was Google satelite (Earth) map that was asked for: That is still what is requested on the actual leaflet from immigration by today; i.e. no changes at all from user Aeiou7's previous post #87, so I won't scan and share it just to repeat that.
Also the list for "Visa extension, Stay with Thai family", as posted by moderator PoorSucker in #52, is still the same as per today, March 27th, 2018.
It would be appreciated if you do scan and and share the map requirement.
The latest list I have from Imm. from Feb. 2018 states;
7. "MAP (Satellite view of the house from Google map: latitude: longitude)."
This was the case in May 2017 as my Google Earth picture was rejected and I was obliged to get the Google Map picture for the print shop on site.
It would seem that they HAVE changed the requirement if what you say is correct.
-
The latest requirements are as follows:
1. TM 7 and 4 x 6 cm photograph taken in last 6 months.
2. Copies of used passport pages plus copy of original 'O' visa if in old passport.
3. Letter from bank showing 800,000 Baht, copy of all pages of bank book and statement from last 3 months. Letter valid for 7 days.
4. Google maps (not earth) map showing GPS coordinates. (can get from print shop outside Immigration).
5. Hand drawn map. You may get away with a pre drawn map but she may tell you to do it fresh.
6. Medical certificate (can get from Bandon Hospital 250 Baht , not sure about other hospitals) valid 7 days.
7. Copy of rental agreement plus landlords house book and ID.
8. Proof of TM 30 from landlord registration of aliens which you get from the office underneath Immigration. Other people have been charged 100 Baht for this but they forgot to charge me.
This is as of 23rd Feb so could easily be another useless document required by the time you go, who knows?

After reading this, I went to Samui Immigration today 22/12/17 to renew my extension based on retirement, which runs out 19/01/18.
I was told "Cannot do.Come back nest month. Number 9 or 10."
So wasted THB250 0n a medical certificate, THB250 on a bank letter, and a day getting all my forms ready.
Seems like they have changed their minds again.
To top it off, I cannot access the Surat Immigration website using the username and password that I registered. Got to start all over again.
On the the occasions I've tried doing my retirement extension in Samui imm I've been told to come back on the expiry day, Last year she took my documentation but when I went back two days later she pulled my docs out of her desk drawer and only then did she start to check them.
It would be very useful if you could post what happens when/if you try again 9/10 days early. If they actually process the extension same day or tell you to come back and just stick your docs in a drawer until the expiry date.
I would not be keen on that as it gives too much opportunity for everything to be lost!
I certainly wish you luck.

If the "house master" completes TM30 online what do I show Immigration?

I suggest you tell them it was done online but have the printout as a backup with you.
Thanks, that's what I was hoping for.

Hello again UJ.
I follow these TM30 posts with interest and following my visit to Chang Wattana last week, I can confirm that they do expect the TM30 to be completed.
With the OP raising the point that the landlady has never been submitting the TM30, it does raise the question on where the hammer will fall if all offices do, at some point in the future, start asking why individuals have never presented the TM30.
Ultimately, I see it as my responsibility to ensure the TM30 is presented in accordance with requirements, I personally would not leave it to chance and "hope" someone else is doing it.
This may be the case for the better established hotels, who have procedure In place, but, who else can you really rely on to do this if you reside In some private accommodation of some sort.
The nightmare scenario is if immigration start retrospectively looking back at TM30 submissions and use them as a base for determination.
Is this likely ?
Food for thought...
I too have been following the TM 30 posts and I'm still confused about what is required.
My landlord had not submitted any TM 30's for the "aliens" living in my complex so I asked him to do so.
He tried to do it online but couldn't do it on his tablet so we used my laptop to complete the on line TM 30 and successfully entered my details and I have a page that shows I'm on his TM 30 page.
On the paper version there is a tear off receipt to acknowledge that the TM 30 has been completed.
There is no option to print the information so took screenshots which I've printed
If the IO asks me for the TM 30 do I simply tell them that it was done online so they can find it in their system or do I show them the prints I've taken?
If someone could clarify that it would be appreciated.
Thankyou

It is NOT their job at Immigration to educate you. It is YOUR own job to learn... Clock stops when you are out of the country, and resets when you enter Thailand again...
Glegolo
I have heard this "clock stops" so many times, and in my personal experience it is nonsense.
In the last three years I have left and reentered Thailand three times , each time during the 90 day report period. I am on a one year extension for retirement and always have a multiple reentry permit
Twice I re-entered at Swampy and once at Samui.
All three times the IO stamped my passport with the expiry date of my one year retirement extension as the "permitted to stay until" date, in my case the 13th of May of the respective year. the permitted to stay date on my TM 6 (departure card) was left blank.
I therefore went to Samui immigration on the date of existing 90 day report slip and this has caused no problems.
The same 'end of extension stamp' was given to a mate who reentered at swampy and also has a one year retirement extension from Samui immigration.
So for both of us the clock was not "stopped", "reset" or "restarted".
That old clock just kept on ticking.
I have attached a copy of the relevant page of my passport for the latest reentry.
The OP has been derided and most of the posts have been downright insulting to Chris747's intelligence.
How about a bit less sarcasm from responders and only post what you can attest to (and support with evidence) yourselves.

4 hours ago, thurien said:why you specifically mention "Ratchaburi"? They don't have isolated requirements there - the immigration requirement for extending permissions to stay in the country are standardized and updated info. is best found on their web site
Unless this was meant to be ironic, what a wonderfully naiive post.
If there was standardized requirements there would not be multiple posts on TV bemoaning the latest new requirements in different IOs and replies stating that "in my IO they didn't ask me for that".
The apparent belief that the information available on "their website" is either up to date or comprehensive is laughable.
Please, the option for all of us to check on line and get ALL the requirements for the various extensions available is not even a gleam in Thai Immigration's collective eye.
Cheers!

So this thread is not for 90-day reporting...
I think there is another recently updated thread running about retirement extensions – and to OP: I did mine less than two weeks ago (posted in the other thread) and used a 250 baht medical statement from TIH (Thai International Hospital).
The plot thickens. I popped in to Thai International Hospital today and was told at the reception desk that they had no problem providing the "Visa" (their word) medical certificate, no blood or urine samples taken and the cost 850 Baht.
So we have posts saying it HAS to be Nathon Hospital, posts saying TIH is okay to use, one post giving the cost as 250 Baht from TIH.
We also have immigration saying it HAS to be issued by Nathon Hospital and we have TIH saying they can issue but the cost is 850 baht.
I'm not even going to address the post about a hand drawn map being required as well as the Google Earth map, it's too bizarre.
It's a good thing this madness only has to be addressed once a year..........for now!

So confusion reigns regarding the Hospital. While I was waiting I heard a German fella with a Thia girl ask the same questionabout the hospital and got the same answer as me. The lad actually wrote "Samui" before the word hospital on the list of requirements he gave me.
Maybe you could let me know how your 90 day goes?

Hi.
I went to the 'new' immgration today to do 90 day report. Just can't avoid that Chaweng - Nathon schlep!
No problem with the 90 day report, I was in and out in ten minutes, everyone friendly and helpful. I got there at 9.45 and only eight customers in office.
I did clarify two things though.
1. The medical report must be from Samui Hospital in Nathon.
2. They now require a copy of the "Blue Book" for my place of residence in addition to the rental agreement and copy of landlord's ID that was previously required (on the list of reuirements it says "household" but the guy at the information desk showed me what this meant).
Regarding the medical report, there was a previous post that said the poster had got a medical for certificate from Thai International Hospital. I have not seen a follow up post saying that this was accepted by immigration or not.
It would be helpful if people who post here about this subject would advise other users what the result of their actions were.

I have heard a rumour that a Health Certifacte is now required at Samui Immigration for the retirement extension.
Can anyone confirm this and if so can one get the certificate from any hospital or must it be the government hospital in Nathon?
I've also heard that the IO is moving to Mae Nam "next month". Again anyone got confirmation of that?
If both of these rumours are true I will still have to make my annual trek to Nathon even after immigration has moved.....typical!

Arrived at Samui immigration today 9.56.
Only one person in front of me at the window. Told by lady at the window to go straight in.
Documents i had prepared, copy passport data page, last extension, departure card, last 90 day report, Google earth map, rental agreement, letter from bank, 3 month statement from bank, copy last 3 months of bank book, application form with photo.
Handed documents to young guy behind the counter which he looked over then asked me for Bt 1,900 and gave me a number.
Went outside and settled down with a good book.
At 10.13 my number called so I went back inside thinking as I always do "what new 'requirement' do they want now".
Same guy takes my picture with a web camera, asks for my phone number (not in THAT way), makes a couple of notes on paperwork then hands me passport saying "all finished".
10.16 I leave with new extension.
I've had 90 day extensions take way longer than that.
I'd heard that there had been a shake up at the office recently but it is a totally different (pleasurable) experience since 'laughing boy' got the old heave ho!
Long may it continue.

There was a post today from someone applying for an extension based on marriage at Samui Immigration and being required to stipulate to any criminial record in their home country or in Thailand and to consent to a criminal record check.
Anyone else had this requirement when applying for extension based on marriage, retirement or other basis?

No problem but once you get to Thailand go to Immigration and they will move your visa into your new passport but don't bother if there's just a short stay left on it.
Visas are never moved from one passport to another. You carry both passports until the visa in the old passport expires.
Only the visa number is written next to your entry stamp with type of visa in your new passport
You are generally asked to show the the visa in the old passport when you enter Thailand.
Don't know about extensions
I certainly had my retirement extension moved into my new passport.
It was free too.
My experience also.
New passport sent to me by post from UK, Samui immigration insisted I needed a letter from British Embassy confirming legitimacy of passport and then immigration transferred my retirement extension along with stamps that referenced my original O visa and my old passprt details. Charged 100 Bt and had to make 3 visits.
First to be told 'go away come back with Embassy letter', second to apply for transfer of stamps, third to collect newly stamped passport. Time consuming and a bit frustrating but job got done.

There has been a decided improvement recently with the service at Samui immigration.
Last thursday I went for my 90 day report which was done in ten minutes.
I then passed over an application form for a multiple re-entry permit, just the completed form with photograph, no copies of anything. The young lady asked me to wait and forty five minutes later called me to the counter and asked me to sign several copies they had made of my passport. I was in and out of immigration in under an hour. A very happy bunny.
Admittedly there were only a few people in the office at the time (10.00 a.m.) and none of the usual muppets who turn up shirtless and clueless, so that may have contributed to the lack of the usual animosity we get in Samui immigration but, whatever the reason, long may it continue.
The move to a larger office and a more central location is long overdue and I for one am looking forward to not schlepping back and forth from Chaweng to Nathon, even if it is only four times a year.

A huge digital billboard was recently installed on the southern corner of Chaweng Lake, it alternatley illuminates the corner as if it were a spotlight and then plunges the corner in to almost total darkness.
Not dangerous at all.
The information displayed on the board is all in Thai but from what I can decipher it appears, in part, to advertise some hospital services. Creating their own customer base?

I had lens replacement surgery (a by product of catarct surgery) due to a detached retina at Rutnin Hospital in Bangkok. The hospital is near Soi Cowboy.
The consultation (with Dr. Rutnin), treatment, accomodation and outcome were excellent, and I have no hesitation in recommending a consultation with them.
Cost, a bit steep at 100,000 Bt but in my case BUPA picked up the tab, so happy days.

There is an office on Samui.
Ko Samui Area Revenue Branch Office
Surat Thani 84140 Tel. 0-7742-1306
Info on tax ID number: http://www.rd.go.th/publish/21987.0.html
Thanks, I'll look into this further.

If you go to the revenue department office and apply for tax identification number you can avoid having the interest being deducted.
It is also possible to apply for a refund of the taxes deducted.
Hello ubonjoe.
Well that certainly sounds interesting. Assuming I can locate the correct department ( I have a feeling it may be in Surat Thani rather than Samui) do you know on what grounds I can claim tax exempt status?
Splitting the accounts will enable me to avoid paying the tax but if I can solve the problem the way you suggest I'd be happier.
Thanks

Yes, no problem at Samui if the total is more than 800k and all accounts seasoned. Sometimes the otherwise kind immigration officer complained that I had a lot of bankbooks, because he need a calculator to check...
I'm normally a kind person, so now I hold 800k in one specific account – the immigration officer is – and another to show regular inflow from abroad to cover living costs. Adviseable when stay here on Retirement Extension to have little more than 800k in total (not all seasoned, only the 800k) and that you can cover (at least part of) resonable living costs with foreign transfers.
Thank you KhunPer. A detailed reply from someone who has clearly had experience of Samui immigration. The 800,000 in one a/c and another for living costs is the way I've been going for the last 5 years.
The reason I wanted to split the money is that the 800,000 is in an account that pays 2.35 %, and accrues more than the 20,000 Baht tax free interest, thus I payed 15 % tax on this years total interest (just short of 3,000 Baht). When I opened the account I was told that I would only pay tax on the interest above the 20,000 threshold but what the heck TIT.
Having the money split between two accounts would avoid this.
I think I'll split the money for most of the year then increase one a/c to 800,000+ three months before my extension application. Should keep everyone happy.
Thanks again KhunPer.

From reading your removed post you seem to be at Samui.
I don't recall any post of it them not accept more than one account. But all of them must be your name only and the total balance to never of dropped below 800k baht for 90 days. You will need a bank letter for each of them plus updates of the bank books,
They may not be very happy abut having the got through more than one bank book to check the balances for 90 days.
I would pop into Samui immigration and ask Khun Nok.... and pass that by him, before your period starts....
He does tend to make life difficult for some.... but not everyone....
You may have to catch him, while he has a smoke break!
Stop it, my sides are splitting......pop into Samui immigration........ ask Kuhn Nok....... no really stop!......interrupt his smoke break.....smiley face with a wink........honestly, tears are streaming down my face.
gawd bless you samuijimmy I haven't larfed so much in years.

Sounds like you had a relatively easy renewal.
Another example of the vagaries of Samui IO. No mention of TM 30 which is causing such confusion elsewhere and no hand drawn map!
The problem, of course, is that we still have to provide those documents as there's no guarantee that other applicants will not be asked for them.
