My wife is in the same situation...been in UK since last August on a  2.5 yr visa,. I think she'd pass the driving test no problem, but the theory would be an issue with  the language. 

As has been mentioned here, a Thai can drive in the UK for 12mths...from date of arrival.  Now it doesn't say from the date the visa starts... But rather ' date of arrival'.....so if my wife goes back to Thailand every year, does that mean that when she arrives in he UK, the 12mths starts again?    I've looked everywhere and cannot get a definitive  answer on this ....

My current visa runs out on the 15ht of Feb, I understand that I can get a 7 day extension...my flight home to the UK is the 1st of March...I'm working out whether I'd be better off paying the fine on exit 500baht x 7= 3,500baht, or paying to do a visa run...If theres no detriment other than paying the fine I'd rather do that...any advice please?

Fast for 1 day per week, just take on branch chain aminos for that day...gives your liver a break....you'll feel a lot better for it.

Actually she has some very nice qualities....but you need love to marry...you don't marry for a visa !

I've flow regularly with both over the last 10 years. If I had to make a choice it would be Eva...Better planes, nicer staff....However I chose Thai over the last few years to get my gold card with them as they were due to have the new 380 airbus, and would have been the only carrier using that plane direct from London to Bkk.....However they decided against it.....So I'll have to put up with the 747s that rattle like mad with the slightest turbulence !

Has anyone done this recently? Is it best to purchase Is updating the vehicle (ready for an inspection in the UK) possible in Thailand before exporting? I see that the average cost for shipping is approx. 100,000 baht...that is for a company to do everything. Is it difficult to get it done yourself?

One thing that struck me is that on the HMO web site, it says that if a vehicle is over 6mths old or has done 6k then its regarded as second hand and no VAT to pay...

No, the Thai supplier- presumably a pharmacist- should only have supplied them on receipt of a valid prescription(this is the law world over). If the products weren't registered with the Thai FDA, then the products were not genuine- which is up another level again in terms of the potential prosecution for the Russian guy and the Thai supplier.

To the OP...your best bet is going to be Kombat group...or as close as you are going to get to what you want.

Akido works against any form of arts. Karate would be the only exception. Falkan sounds like you need to brush up on your info. Bet you didn't know Chuck Norris always employed Akido in real life. It is bar none the top defense in the arts! a take down in less than 15 seconds every time can't beat that. Usually in the first move & the opponent is down. Employing a staff or stick or just about anything. I have trained in 6 arts & I think the Akido is the best because just about any form goes down in a heap in seconds & unlike Kung <deleted> you do not at all need to be offensive to take down any opponent with the only exception of Karate. Muay Thai kick boxing way inferior compared to Akido or else the grand masters would not be proficient at it. There is a huge list of arts experts & stars that employ Akido techniques. Hell if I am sitting down I don't even need to get out of a chair to immobilize a threat.

And I will back down from every fight to keep from fighting. Unlike other arts you are best on the ground. Boxers fall as easy pray to someone knowledgeable in Akido.
