Delicious ! Has anyone seen a bottle for sale in Chiang Mai?

I just visited for my 90-day report. A very positive experience: the staff was friendly and helpful and I was in-and-out in 15 minutes !

I heard that Canada closed their embassy in Laos (many years ago) which Laos took as a great insult. Hence the higher price.

A pro florist would know when to get the good flowers, saving me having to go to the market, possibly multiple times. suggestions appreciated. thx

I think the bottleneck is getting data in & out of Thailand. Note that on this map there is only one line connecting Thailand to the world. Looks like a choke point to me.

It's a step in the right direction for Bangkok. I love that dedicated bus lane -- such a system can move a very high volume of people at a fraction of the cost of an underground/elevated train line. Curitiba, Brazil has pushed this concept farther than any other city in the world. Look them up if you are interested to see how it could potentially work out.

Recommendations of any decent schools in the area. Lots of research to do, I need to start somewhere.

Researching further, it looks like useful sorts of certifactions would be TOEIC or IELTS. Does anybody have any info how widely these are recognised in Thailand?

Student is a Thai national. We are looking for an intensive, full-time program which will grant a certificate upon completion. Certificate would ideally be recognized within the Thai tourism/hospitality industry. Please relate any experiences with any of the local schools (HH or Cha-Am)... Thank you !

probably it starts very small, even free; the mark wins a few hands and then the stakes rise and rise until somebody is way over their head.

I've always gone to Arcade 1 day ahead to buy tix. The "Green Bus" to Mae Sai is the government line; smooth ride and VIP seating. ~650 baht return. Good luck!

Best bet is Mae Sai, about 3.5 hours trip. It costs $10 to cross into Myanmar there.

The road to Pai is notoriously twisty, enough to make anyone sick!

I would suggest the 1 year ED visa, learning the thai language. If you will be living here, of course speaking and reading thai will be a great help6. You can study part-time to qualify for this visa, however you need to sign up for a 1 year program. Good luck and happy new year!

You'll maybe find it easier if you base it on linux -- maybe a stripped-down version would suit you. Unless you are going to write the whole thing yrself, you will find a lot more help forums/libraries/fonts/etc out there.
