  1. To the OP: the second-stage expressway from about Chaeng Wattana and outbound is a pretty awesome stretch of road that is pretty much dead empty at certain times. It is pretty much the only place for people with fast cars to drive them. Freeway goes all the way to Bang Pa-in and then you can make the same right back into town. There are 2 spots where you need to slow down or you will likely bottom-out, but if you know where these 2 spots are, you're good to go.

Filming? Well if you're shooting real film, you can't shoot at night (which is the best time to fly down that road). Maybe early Sunday mornings? What are you filming, may I ask?

It is a car accessory for the EU and US market that we have developed and that we now need to make films that shows the gadget in action :o

  2. THEM ?????? Sukhumvit Park have absolutely nothing to do with what you agree with your landlord.

SP is a condomium building (each condo is owned by an individual)...............here's some advice.........learn the law and watch who you are slagging off or you will end up being the one who gets sued.

    First

You are right. Sukhumvit Park is a condominium and each condo is normally owned by individuals. BUT the owner of this condo was first presented to me as the company Sukhumvit Park Co.,Ltd. They also printed out the contract with Sukhumvit Park Co.,Ltd as the owner. (I still have it) Then later when we found out that this was a lie (one of many) they changed it to the right owners name – no other than the general managers sister/aunt (according to them self) with the same last name.

And also were the all monthly invoices made in Sukhumvit Park Co.,Ltd’s name…

I haven’t checked if I have got my deposit back yet. If not, I have soon waited for 8 months…

This is not critics of the building it self or individuals who owns condos in SP - I just telling people to be careful with whom they are dealing with…

  3. Sorry to hear about your all-too-familiar trouble with your former landlord over the return of your rent deposit. Take your Rental Agreement to the appropriate district R/T Police station and tell them you want to file both a civil and criminal complaint against the offending landlord, resident manager, and owneroperator of the building. Furnish the R/T police with the responsible individuals phone number and any other contact details that might be relevent. Bring a Thai speaker, your lunch, and be prepared to "tough (sit) it out".

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do NOT mention the one late payment; you've already suffered the penalty for that and all it does is to confuse the issue, your deposit.

    Good luck

Thanks, I was promised a transfer of the money this week and then they said i will have the money on friday. But no money was transferred as i checked the bank state today Saturday. Should I bring a lawyer with me to the police starion?? People tell me that the police will not do anything but file the papers.

Can any recommend a DECENT and DEVOTED THAI lawyer from a SMALL law firm (1-5 people)??? The big firms tends to be unmotivated, they forget who you are, negligent with your papers, they suddenly quit there jobs, neglects to notify when things happens, and so on….and so on….

  4. I just want to advise everybody to be EXTRA CAREFUL if renting apartment/condo at Sukhumvit Park Condominiums at Sukhumvit Soi 10. The persons who run the place are not truthful and will take every chance to deceive and manipulate with informations.

    It’s a long story…..

Anyway they refuse to pay back my deposit after my one year contract (1 july 2005- 30 June 2006). I have paid every rent accordingly to the lease agreement except one month that was 3 days late and therefore I hade to pay 1000bt per day in penalty.

According to the lease agreement the deposit should be returned to me within one month… They have not clamed any compensation for any damages, just tells me to wait, nothing else….

Is there a way to put some pressure on them? Will I gain anything extra by suing them or only get the lawyer richer :o ??

    I need some advice....

Did you have a phoneline in your apartment?

I could understand this in normal cases with decent folks, but not with those people. After so many lies. They have lied about everything from who’s the legal owner of the condo to fake claims of maintenance made by brand companies like Electrolux, but was made by them self. ...And so many other things....

If I sued them and if I win, I know I will, who pay for the legal fees and the lawyer??? How long time will it take to get a judicial decision?? Will i as foreigner get fair trial??

  7. Hi, as many of you, we have problems to find a cc solution for our webshop.

I have followed this thread with big attention but can’t find out with is the best solution for us. One thing is for sure, we can’t afford 5,5% as 2checkout.com charges.

We are now trying to get a CC machine so we can process the payments manually. But we find it hard to get. The banks say they will only provide CC-machines for real shops and tourist related companies. Our company is more than 2 years old and we have a nice and decent office in a business building but we are not a shop so therefore not qualified according to them. Any suggestions??

Does any e-payment solution provided by Thai banks really works for large payments from overseas?? We do not have many payments but few large ones in the range of 30 000-250 000b per purchase.

We really need some advise here.

    Thanks // Peter

  8. I had a small filling that felled out and had to be replaced. I also wanted to discuss an implant. As i had some bad experiences from smaller dental clinics, I decided to visit one of the “fancy” clinics. I went to Bangkok International Dental Center at Ding Deang who is highly recommended at some websites.

The Doctor (lady) was really gentle… I almost didn’t feel anything. Back down at the reception to pay, I was charged 2000b for two replacements??? The doctor had forgot to tell me that the missing filling was actually two.. One that affected two tooths… Satisfied with that answer I paid the 2000b… But I didn’t got a receipt so I had to ask for it.

Today I looked at their website and found out this:

    Filling Replacments (Tooth coloured material)

Composite resin: first surface surface 600 - 800 Baht

Composite resin: next surface surface 200 - 500 Baht

    So my questions are:

    Did they fool me?

Has anyone else here done an implant at Bangkok International Dental Center at Ding Deang?? What was you impression??

  9. Non-B visa

I have to renew my one year Multi-E Non-B before 13 of November.

To get it the fist time, I hired a law firm as I did not yet had my own company.

Today I have a 2M paid up company and a work permit but only 1 Thai employed. I plan to hire 4-6 Thais within a couple of month.

Do I HAVE to leave the country? For the moment, I don’t have time to wait days for a visa.

Is it easier to renew a B-visa or is it the same procedure and same paperwork as the first time?

Can do it my self or do you recommend to let a law firm to do it for me. (what will it cost?) What kind of paper do I have to bring to the embassy abroad if I do it my self? I have all the original company documents.

Do I have to cancel my work permit before I leave the country for applying for my new B-visa?

If i have to leave the country, I plan to go to KL Malaysia. Is the embassy there hassle free??

  10. I have office in Bangkok. And if you wanna build an office or wanna contract some thai workers to do that for you. My suggestion is.. you should to ask for help from your thai friend. You can negotiate price for discount. If you contract by yourself. You will got WhiteTaxes. I estimate from your pictures should be around 70-100k. Don't know the details...size, meterials ..etc...

Maybe i should mention: it is my assistent, who is thai, who contacts the constructing companies.

  11. I giving it up, We got tree companies to do it for around 80 000.- but all of them did not wanted to the job after we accepted their price. Strange… I think I will end up doing it my self.

So is there any here who can recommend some handy Thai people, who can assist me, that wants a one week well paid (1000 per day) job???

  12. No one???? Has no one built these kinds of walls before???

My problems: i know the material cost is 20-25000.- and the 12 companies that we got quotations from estimate the building time to 4-5 days. The price they asks is 120 - 220 000.- including material..... Way to expencive i think...That price is the same as the price is in Sweden where a worker costs 100-120 000.- per month??? Here in Thailand the same man costs 10-15 000.- per month.

  13. I'm going to furniture an office space at Sukhumvit Soi 13 (450m from Nana-BTS) with big 7-8 U-shaped workstations as an open office landscape. I only need 2-3 of them so therefore i would like to know if someone would be interested to rent those i don't need for the moment.

    Minimum 3 month.

7500.-/month per workstation including Electric, Air-con, Reception Clerc, Secretary Service (150 baht/1/2h), Copy Machine (3 baht/page), Fax Machine (3 baht/received page), Laser Printer (3 baht/page) and so on.

If you don't need a big workstation, It is possible to arrange smaller workstations for 3900.-/month.

Interested! Please let me know as soon as possible as i starts to decorate soon.

    Email me at [email protected]

  14. Okey then - SHARING - so wrong it can get when you are not native cenglish and also i uses a Pocket-PC so i missed that the program suggested cheering instead of sharing...

Why is it not possible to edit my message longer. It has been possible before.

LovelyCutie - Thanks for your suggestions. Are they "serviced" offices or only an empty floor space? Casathailand.com whant 20 000b/month for 15 sq.m.

  15. Asoke has a good mix of residential & office buildings. You may have to walk from one to the other (5 mins).

If you start at the Asoke entrance to Soi Cowboy and walk north, away from Sukhumvit theres a place about 100m up on the same side that is advertising office/residential space for rent.

If that's no good keep walking north - there's loads of places. Good luck.

I don't know if i'm blind or what... I could not see that sign "office/residential space"

Peter.....Maybe to much beer chang make me blind...... :o
