  1. Just got back from land office in sattahip. Have thai company with farang director and 39/61 common/preferred share structure. Multi voting common shares etc. Purchased property in company name with debt/equity of 4/1. Have Thai shareholders (2) both of which I have known for 5 years and have good jobs. No problems arrive 8:30 am and finished by 11:30 with everything done and in new company name. I have faith in system. If you follow law and are legitimate for business, it can work. No need to pay anybody pocket money and used my friend from Bangkok as lawyer.

  2. Well everything is still going smooth with PR after immigration investigator grilled me for a few hours at my home..... Just wondering from time to time I see posting that link to immigration website showing status of PR applicants from 2005,2006 etc. But when I go to website I cannot find the documents. How does one go about finding status on web??? If not, how does one find out??

  3. If by passport not showing where you live meaning 90 day address reports you indeed require that for any extension of stay if you live here more than 90 days in a row.

I have lived here for over 5 years and had my HR manager report to immigration for me within 24 hours of every business trip. I have never had one. Immigration Bangkok reviewed my application/passport details and never asked about it. Sriracha immigration reviewed my passport details and never asked about it.... Learn something new every day.....

  4. I had applied for PR in December of 2007 under the business category. I have all the credentials and documentation and more than enough salary and paid taxes to qualify. I have been thru all the steps upto and including the interview by a panel of 4 immigration officers with no problems. I am married to a Thai, bnut did not apply under Personal category. I applied under business and am willing to pay the higher fee. Now, I have had an immigration investigator come to my work place and grill me for an hour. Then same day he said he wanted to see my house and wife. He came to my house and questioned me and wife for another 2.5 hours. I was totally upset with this guy. All the questions about family etc.. I applied under business to avoid all this. The guy even questioned why I do not have kids.... He questioned neighbours, my maid... and then still argued that since my passort does not have a paper showing that my house is were I stay, I do not stay there. Now, under business application there is no need for this. Anyone else experince this?? Have some thoughts??

  6. It is amazing how people want to drag things to the lowest common denominator. Since foreign embassies US,UK, Canada etc. make it a pain to get visas, let's do the same. I wish these foreign embassies would look around and base their visa practices on some SEA countries. I too agree getting a visa is a pain except in Thailand,SIngapore etc. Thai officials do not lower yourselves to these other countries practices.
