QuoteMany Thai people are suffering from stress, depression, burnout or are at risk of committing suicide as a result of the two-year long COVID-19 pandemic.
It's not the "result of the two-year long COVID-19 pandemic". It's the result of a govt whose first responsibility is to itself.

Please just man up and write what happened. This can help other members.
Bad advice. Laws regarding defamation/libel are nothing like those in western countries. They WILL track you down if they feel like it, and the police will help.

My Mor Phrom app on my iPhone was working well until recently. Now when I open it after entering my password it disappears completely before I can log in.Is it possible to delete the app and download again? I suppose the more sensible option would be to hang on until the software is fixed.Anyone else experienced similar issues?
You're slightly better off than I am.. Mine does not work at all, has never worked, and shows no sign of ever working.
I have deleted/re-downloaded a couple of times, complained a couple of times, received no answer, and have been hanging on for over 6 months.
Just thought you'd love to know, best of luck, M

My experiences:
3bb will not carry VOIP in 3 locations where I have used them.
Thus, no free or low cost overseas calls.TOT had frequent outages and was not very swift about
restoring them. Terrible service at the call center. Uncaring.True Online- 4 years now and I have no complaints.

Just watching the news on tv and they said:
“If you’ve had your 2 Vax shots already” they now have your contact information and will contact you with a time and date for your booster!
Yes, and what's even more wonderful is that they will provide an app for it.

As an American citizen and expat formerly of New York City, I am infuriated and ashamed by this report.
A large part of my anger falls upon the "Defund the Police" crowd. Have a good look at our future.
I don't understand all the commentary about race and ethnicity. If they catch the guy he should get 30 years to life. I don't give a flyin' **** about his race, religion, poor economic background, lousy living conditions, deprived childhood, temporary emotional state, abusive parents, lack of opportunity, ............... (the list is infinite).

The Times They Are A Changin'.
People's needs, tastes, and means have changed, not to mention the many who moved away to find other opportunities. The gold shop is closed; a 20 baht store has taken its place. Things will improve in the aggregate, but don't expect a return to The Way We Were. As always in business, survivors will be those who spot change and adapt.

Big deal! I ordered them to bury the lines years ago. You think they listen?

I was in NY once and stopped in to Bangkok Bank for a minor transaction (details forgotten). Turned out that there are NY exchange rates and Bangkok rates, the former being significantly less advantageous to the customer.

12 years in this country have taught me something: the law is whatever the person you're talking to says it is. "Laws" vary not only from office to office, but from person to person within an office, and also from time to time coming from the same person. Trying to discover the "law" is an exercise in futility. Published laws and regs are ambiguous in both English and , I am told, in Thai.
Think I am exaggerating? Go around to a few Amphur offices and ask how to get a yellow book. Or a pink card.

12 years in LOS have shown me that the "law" is whatever the person you are speaking with says it is. Not only for immigration, but for any "official" business. Ask how to get a yellow book, or a pink residency card, or an automobile registration, or ..., and you will see what I mean.
Most of the difficulties farangs have here comes from attempting to apply western standards and practices.

I have experienced about a 5% loss rate with Thai Post over the past 30 years. First class, EMS, registered, domestic or international, parcels or letters seem to make no difference. I now use the private logistics carriers which have sprung up in the last 5 years.

https://www.medparkhospital.com/en/page/covid19-vaccine-expatsQuite by accident I came across this link today, and proceeded to sign up for a covid vax to be provided free of charge to foreigners over 60. Much to my amazement, the website appeared to work perfectly as it asked a series of reasonable questions and then confirmed a reservation by e-mail. The website did NOT:
- refuse to load on startup
- crash upon clicking SUBMIT
- proclaim itself closed due to exhausted supplies
- require documents which are difficult or impossible to obtain (yellow book, pink card)
"What could possibly be going on here?" I thought. Has the internet transported me to an alternative universe? Well, the reservation (for mid August) has stood uncancelled now for over an hour. So, next month I plan to make a full day drive to Bangkok, stay overnight in a hotel, and arrive at the hospital at least an hour early.
If I am greeted by a mob of hundreds, and then made to wait in a queue for several hours, and then informed that no more vaccine is available until after the pandemic is completely over, I will relax. I will know that I am still in Thailand.
Caveats:
Nothing said about a second vax.
Nothing said about which vax

"Walk-in vaccinations of those aged 75+ begin today at Bang Sue Grand Station"
That was the headline over yesterday's announcement. Article went on to say that from today (29 June) to 18 July, for persons 75+ or with serious health issues, no registration or appointment required . Left unsaid were answers to:
Farangs accepted or Thai citizens only?
Can come from anywhere in Thailand, or must live in Bangkok?
What happens after 18 July? Will open again for second shot?
If anyone has real info on this, I would be much obliged.

I am so glad to see it because learning is good! Yes, our government is learning how to manage us. Read on, and see if you can guess from whom they are learning.
A letter arrived today from USEmbassy,Bangkok, Charge d'Affaires Michael G. Heath, grandly announcing
- "The Biden-Harris Administration has embarked on a global effort to address this pandemic by sharing 80 million vaccine doses worldwide by the end of June and 500 million more in the coming year."
Right! When you manage people, always start with the grand announcement, then let the reality sort of sneak in later, hopefully unnoticed. Reality is that the distribution will be, among other things, "equitable" , and "equitable" means none of us are getting a single one of those 500 million doses.. That sounds equitable, doesn't it.
But before you succumb to total despair, you will no doubt be pleased to know that instead of vaccines, our government is providing us with an app --- an app to show where in the US we can be vaccinated. Here's a screenshot, and don't forget, the Biden-Harris administration has embarked:

A government run website ---- what a great idea! Now we will get reliable, accurate information on everything we need to know. And, I'm sure it will work just fine, like, for example, the immigration website.

They come from Planet Photoshop. After an initial appearance in the Utah desert, widely reported by the media, they now seem to target resorts, restaurants, hotels, etc.

If non-working holidays boost the economy, that's really great news. Let's make every day a holiday, sit back, and watch the economy sky-rocket.

In the US we always buy title insurance. Price is reasonable. I have never seen mention of it here in LOS --- maybe that should tell us something.

Trees, man, trees. Large trees with broad, dark green leaves. Don't let the builder knock any of them down. Build the house under overhanging branches with as much foliage and shade around the house as possible.
It's the only method that I have seen work here in the high humidity LOS. Visiting a friend, I feel a 10 deg drop (estimated) when i walk onto his property.

I understand why your wife would be confused. The phrase (in my opinion) means "copy of document confirming unmarried status". Why immigration demands such a document at this stage is indeed mysterious.
I agree with above. At Amphur where you registered marriage you should both:
- Show immigration's requirement for this document and see what they give you
- Get a new Kor Raw 2 which you will probably need anyway
At my immigration office they require a new Kaw Raw 2 every year (20 baht). My guess is that this shows they have not been notified of a divorce.
Special budget needed to prevent 4,500 job cuts among Thailand’s forest rangers

We don't need Forest Rangers. What we really need are more submarines, F-35 fighters, etc. Maybe health care workers should be next on the chopping block.
