  1. Only one pole is a nice DIY job.

Do not know where you are located? One pole if hire a company maybe 2.000 Baht?

It is just one pole the house is in area of nakonthai phitsunalok, are you sure only 2000 thb? the pole is pretty big that is now under it. It is a supporting beam so am not really sure if i could do this myself.

  2. It ts possible. Our house was ob wooden poles. And is now on concrete ones. We needed three mobile cranes. Costed 100.000 baht, 20 years back. About 40 poles..

Is this done by a specialized company or can any construction company do this?

  3. Techically the CEO of a large US corporation like Apple would need a work permit if he answered a few emails whilst in Thailand, which of course is ridiculous!

If said CEO was on holiday in Thailand then No said person would not need a WP...if claiming Thailand as residence then Yes.....the laws as they stand are not ridculous in the least and certainly one of the easier places in the world to get a WP/work legally, this is based on my 25 years + working in various countries in the world....wink.png

In the case of the OP...yes in your situation you need a WP irrespective of where you are being paid etc etc and there are potentionally severe penalties if you are caught and thats all needs to be said...now its up to the OP if he wants to take the chance...

But how does this work? I have requested a work permit befre for thai company but would i need to request it if i live there too? It is impossible correct as you cannot do the regulation about thai employees / 2 million registered baht etc ?

  4. Yes the above is valid if you are on a Temporary Extension of Permission to Stay; but it is not clear from your postings as to if you are currently on such an extension obtained from Thai Immigration, or if you go to the border every 90 days (using a non immigrant visa).

I go to immigration I do not cross the border wink.gif anyway thx for the help been hearing different things all over even at immigration they said it was needed to return the work permit.

The buying of the 7 days extension is a nice goodbye present jap.gif

  5. Yes I have a non immigrant visa b.. but as I read it becomes non valid because now I stay here on the work permit need to report every 3 months at immigration.

I found this link in another post on the forum: http://www.dejudomla...id=109&Itemid=9 is this still valid?

When an expatriate employee's work is terminated, the company must issue a letter confirming the cancellation of employment. The employee must present such letter to the Immigration Department to be used for the cancellation of his visa and the visas of all dependant family members. The employee and family members must make the cancellation in person at the Immigration Department and the cancellation must be made exactly on the employee's last official working day. In the case that the last working day is a holiday or weekend the employee will need to make the cancellation on the last government working day before the holiday or weekend. Upon cancellation, in order to remain in Thailand, the work visa holder and his/her dependants must apply for a visa extension. The Immigration Department will grant a 7-day temporary visa extension. The fee for the extension is Baht 1,900 per person. Employment visa holders need to be aware that once their company sets a last official working day, their visa must be cancelled. The visa cancellation must be reported even if the visa still remains valid beyond the last day of employment. If a visa holder continues to use this employment visa after the last official day of work (the date when the company stops paying salary in Thailand), he/she will be breaking the Immigration Department rules.

So according to this I should have a cancellation letter and go to immigration in person.. and buy the extension visa for 7 days?

  6. Oh dear, not another one.

How many farang husbands/boyfriends have been killed by their Thai partners this year? Sorry, but I have lost count.

Why do they do it? Go to jail, go directly to jail and do not collect your farang husband`s money. What`s the point.

Umm mostly by having some gigs i presume whistling.gif and when thai girl reaches her boiling point there is no speaking to them dry.gif
