  1. Assuming 700 iPads AND 700 iPhones ... that's an average of 35,000 baht each.

    Need I say more?

Exactly!! how much padding is included in the price.

Not enough that they should buy their own telephones and tablets like anyone else but they pay an inflated price so that "someone" gets a hefty sum of money to boot.

Probably a few fones and tablets will be included for the missus and kids as well. Not called LOS (land of scams) for nothing.

  2. Isreal should stop bugging Thailand and Nazi, and terrorism.

Could you try to rewrite that in semi-understandable English?

I hope that people who profit from the image of Nazi Hilter be punished, by re-incarnation, and be born again in a stick Jewish family.

So that they understand how much the Jew really suffered.

Your use of written English only serves to confim the veracity of your avatar.

  3. The Podology Center San Sai..............053-38084

the guys name is Dirk Weeber but he is a bit of an oddball but maybe worth a visit if u are stuck

if I were u go and see Doctor Preecha the orthopedic surgeon at CM RAM first......tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings i think and have a chat...he fixed my ingrowing toenails

and will point u in the direction of someone who can help if its not his speciality

I'm still pondering and may go to see Dr Preecha.

On a slightly different approach does anyone know of a really competent pedicurist in the city. In my experience the vast majority of people calling themselves a 'pedicurist' are just people with a nail file who open a shop and hang up a shingle.

Most are absolutely useless and indeed cause a lot of damage (as has been my experience)

  4. glad to hear the baby is alright but....

    1. why go out at one in the morning into a dark alley in patong beach?

    2. why wasn't the boyfriend with her?

    when you're five months pregnant...

She made a mistake, that is for certain. but no need to rub it in. The ones here at fault are the alleged ladyboy attackers.

Sure she made a mistake but the mistake was not going out alone late at night, her mistake was to go to that shithole called Phuket

Exactly, they should rename it Tombstone

And they worry about negative publicity and it's a affects on tourism. THEY SHOULD WORRY BECAUSE THERE IS NO POSITIVE PUBLICITY COMING OUT

  5. There is no podiatrist in C.M. This has been covered many times.

You could try an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the feet.

Been here for sometime (20 years) and was always of the understanding that there was not a Podiatrist or Chiropodist in Thailand "full stop" but this MFT is the one that I was thinking of. From the comments it is clear that folk have had varying experiences some positive and some negative. I have to admit to having reservations however I will in all likelihood check them out (and now have their phone numbers as was the purpose of the initial post) I will try and provide some feed back as to how I find them.

Finally it is a sad inictment of Thailand (66 million people) and virtually not a single degree qualified person. Most developed (first world) countries would have a ratio of at least one qualified practioner to 12,500 - 15,000 population incl children. But anyway I am here for the temples.....

  6. What about restricting visa's for all those soul brothers who come here for the sole purpose of crime?

I don't know if anyone has noticed but there seems to be more and more of them every month!

"for the sole purpose of crime" are you suggesting these people all wear a sign around their neck (s) advertising the fact 'I am visiting Bangkok (or Thailand) so I can set off all these little bombs that I procurred' Dream on.

And as for, Sama same. Thai bar girls have made Thai nationals needing a Visa to go to most counties. Including New Zealand (which used to be Visa Free until recently. Don't know what you mean by recently but visas were required 15 and 11 years ago respectively. OK you might say I don't know shyt but I took my wife (Thai) there, and we had to get a visa at the embassy in Bangkok both times.

  7. Low cost should be illegal - if it was you were not stranded.

I don't mind getting stranded once every 10 years if I can fly 100 times for 1/3rd of the price. I can fly from Perth to Phuket with a low cost carrier for $450. With Qantas it's $1500.

OK you pay a little more BUT you get there. You're unlikely to see Qantas, BA, SIA, Emirates, KLM and many others going belly up.

You're right. Because if they did run out of money, their respective government would bail them out with your taxes. And in the meantime, they'll do their utmost to ensure that you pay the maximum possible for flights by lobbying the government to keep competition out of their skies.

Not saying you're wrong but at the end of the day what do you want "to get there or sleep on the terminal floor for several days" i WANT TO GET THERE IN THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME

  8. A program doomed to fail. There are not enough mental health professionals in the country to provide even rudimentary care.

It is wrong to chain patients, but I fear the outcome may be much much worse if the patients are unshackled and left unsupervised.

Damned if you and damned if you don't.

This is the 21st century and this 5th world country is still employing primitive practices that developed countries abandoned way more than a 100 years ago.

    God Save Us

  9. "TO SOME, insolvency guru Mark Korda is Dr Death, ... "

You get what you pay for..

Cheap, so-called "budget airlines" have been the cancer of the industry. Until the tumor is removed, and the "I want everything for nothing" attitude has been eradicated, there will be no cure.

Assuming that all those stranded passengers are literate, they can't claim total innocence. Their predicament is their own doing. ...

Have you ever heard that one .. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't." ... ?

Error contains the seed of it's own destruction.

"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" (too good to be true)." My sentiments entirely. OK you pay a little more BUT you get there. You're unlikely to see Qantas, BA, SIA, Emirates, KLM and many others going belly up. Spend hours shopping around on price for what is generally a 2nd rate service anyway. Most often in life you get what you pay for passifier.gif

  10. The story seems to be full of speculation .. CCTV shows her with an Indian man (must be her boyfriend), he was seen leaving with his luggage (must have left the country). There are far more questions than answers here .. it would be silly to jump to conclusions. Remember this is Thailand.

They gotta pin it on an expat otherwise, "definately not good for tourism"
