Put the damn money on the bank. Get an OA, a marriage visa or leave. You're not being treated any differently than anyone else so suck it up.
Well aren't you just a lovely <deleted>.

And some of that amount you would nto have had available for any sort of long term investment anyhow since you do in fact have daily expenses here.
I am at a loss to understand all the people who talk about this 25K as money that would otherwise be invested in stocks or higher interest long term bank accounts in other countries. That is so only if you have 0 living expenses in Thailand and I really do nto think there are many, if any, expats for whom that is the case. The "opportunity costs" of putting 800K in the bank here pertains only to whatever amount of that is more than you are going to need for your living costs. And only for 3 months. I am not saying there is no loss, but it is much smaller than the >$1,000 a year people are making it out to be.
I have been investing in land in thailand as I have children here and want them to be "well off" when I expire. I will just postpone my next 10 rai purchase till I have the required funds in a thai bank and then carry on as before.

I just reviewed the CNX FAQ page and it states “early renewals”. Does this mean an Ext of Stay can be renewed up to 3 months early (in CNX)?
Yes. So you could get your affadavit in december and use it to renew in june for a visa expiring in september.

Found verification on the Chiang Mai consulate site but it isn't all as dire as you are making it out to be. The thais are allowing people to renew/extend up to 3 months early, the consulate will be issuing affadavits till december 31st, and they are still good for 6 months.
so that means if your current visa extension expires between now and september 2019 you can go in and get the income affadavit before the end of the year and be good for another year.
Who knows what will change between now and the time your next 1 year extension expires?
There is also the non-o multiple entry visa which doesn't require any sort of income verification, but does require you to cross a border every 90 days.
If all that fails put the 400k or 800k in the bank or move to Cambodia.- 1

Here is a positive experience. I met my wife in a bar. She had been working about 6 months. I knew it when we met but she was just so cool. I didn't care. As many do I offered her a pension so she could stay at home and not need to fuc_k for a living. She took it and might have fuc_ked a bit for fun but all in all much less than I did. So six years later we have two lovely children. I am sure one is mine and the other gets my beer. We have a house up country that cost me 400,000 baht and is on 1 rai of land. I have fun everyday. My breakfast is always ready when I wake up and life is grand. We play at the local waterfall and I have stopped being a playboy just cause I enjoy being with her so much. If she should stray a bit I don't mind much. Hell if I was fuc_king a girl twice my age I would stray occasionally too. I do know when I was sick for a while she was by my bedside 24/7 till I got better. So this is thailand and I wouldn't change it for the world.

The USA has an average of 93 road fatalities a day. Running to over 200 a day during the christmas holidays. The US population is roughly 5 times thailand and has some of the best emergency response teams and safest cars in the world. If you do the math thailand's holiday fatalities are almost the same per capita. I would say they aren't doing so bad.

This is the USA clown show in action. You want a NCIS or CIA party in bangkok you warn of an attack. The whole community gets orders there to find the problem and after they party for a week. They say they thwarted it and all is now well.

From my experience the upper class Thais really don't want us here unless they can make some money off it. I have associated with a few and they pretty much could give a <deleted> less about some farmer or his family or the farang that supports them. As for the upper class guys they figure we just run the prices up for their shot at the farmers daughter.
On the fair side of the coin it is pretty much the same in our home countries. Talk to a Brit about some Indian or Pakistani who resides there. Try an American out on the subject of Mexicans staying in the USA.
We are fairly lucky they let us come here at all on a 30 day tourist visa on arrival. Try getting a tourist visa for your Thai girl to visit your country. See how that works out for you.
From experience I would say come here, rent something, make sure your assets are portable at the drop of a hat (or at least cheap enough that you can abandon them without being butt hurt) and enjoy your life. If you marry one as with any woman don't expect it to last a lifetime. Also as with any women don't expect them to stay with you once you stop providing for them or fall ill. It's not just thai's it's all women.
I love it here but see the reality in the situation.

Loved the prank and read every page. What simply amazes me though is the number of people who supported this or made comments about the grandpas with the young ladies. All I can say is that is part of what makes thailand so wonderful. I learned to leave my hyprocritical western values behind a few years back. It's thailand sit back and enjoy the ride.

Whoever came up with gmail motion is an idiot allright.

He added that the measure is not discriminatory as it will apply to both men and women
Only if it applies to all nationalities...if they single out Farang then it is discriminatory as well as racist.
Discriminationtreatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.
Racisma belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
Why would you want to marry one anyway? Remember if you fly it, float it, or fek it it's always cheaper to rent it.

"Finally, I am trying to think just how this country is going to remedy the cultural effects of Thai men impregnating innocent Thai girls and leaving the aftercare to old stupid foreigners?:jap:"
I am truly laughing my fat white arse off on this one. Thanks for cutting to the core of the issue.
Maybe as a rider on the bill they will start welfare payments to all the single moms of 10,000 baht per child.
I honestly think they are doing us farangs a huge favor. We will be prevented by law from legally tying ourselves down to just one. Thank you thailand and keep protecting those innocent young thai girls ;-) Don't get me wrong I love em but if they are innocent then they were born with an inate ability to empty me wallet.

Personally, this new coming legislation does not affect me.
The retroactive impact will hit a lot of THAIS, not me or any DEAD foreigner.
The human rights aspect will hit the COUNTRY and it's current POLITICIANS, but who really cares?
I would really love to see one day a PINK movement (Party) parading for their money from old dead foreigners.
Finally, I am trying to think just how this country is going to remedy the cultural effects of Thai men impregnating innocent Thai girls and leaving the aftercare to old stupid foreigners?:jap:

It's their military and their government. I will happily sit on the sidelines and watch the show as a neutral party. As for the poor I feel for em, but have you ever tried to show one of them a different way to do something? I am not talking about just Thai poor I am talking about world wide poor. They don't want to learn new things. They don't seem to want to increase their knowledge base and earning potential. They are poor for a reason. That reason is most likely lack of motivation and lack of vision. Oh I am not saying that you can't find a guy will dig ditches all day for 200 baht a day, cuz I know you can. But take that same guy and try and teach him to use an excavator to dig a ditch and you will get blown off. It has happened to me many times.

Sure do you want to build it yourself or have me build it for you?

I am leaning in this direction as well. I can easily do the deposit, but why stay where I am not wanted? Take my money and my pension and check out somewhere else.
