  1. I will be moving to Thailand early next year setting up residence somewhere in the area of Udon Thani. due to a past history of cancer I need to have a Pet Scan once a year. I have been searching the internet for hospitals offering these studies but can find nothing. My question does anyone know where this procedure is available

    Thanks

  2. My wife and I spent several days here this past May,and although we do not have children , there were many families there with children from infants to teenagers all seemed to be having a nice time. The resort has 2 large pools and is across the road from the beach, aside from that there is very little else close by. A side trip to Sam Roi Yhot Park is fun also you can rent a fishing boat with driver for a trip over to Monkey Island the kids should enjoy feeding the many monkeys that come down to the beach as soon as you arrive. The resort certainly rates a satisfactory rating in every area rooms, restaurant, etc. I would recommend the Bungalow rooms. Good value for the money I will return again.

  3. Hi all

My wife and I will be vacationing in the Hua Hin for about 3 weeks towards the end of May. The purpose of our visit is partly beach time and also preperation for retirement to this vicinity at the end of 2005. We would like to get some information on homes and property for sale. our interest is in a semi rural setting up to 100km south of Hua Hin and somewhat close to the beach, availability of chanote title is mandatory, outside of that no other pre-existing conditions. So if you have or know of anything available please let us know we would like to take a look.

  4. Has anyone any experience ordering books from Amazon.com for delivry to a rural Issan address. I am curious to know if this is a viable way to get reading material or will the packages simply disappear. Thanks

  5. Hi to all

I will be retiring to the Hua Hin Cha Am Area in about 18 months. My intention will be to find a nice rental for about 6 mos. while trying to locate a more permanent home.

I was there last year and there was considerable flooding due to unusally large rains and the need to empty some resovoirs to prevent damage to the dams. I am curious to know if this is frequent and what areas might be outside of the flood zone. I would like to confine my house hunting to dry areas if possible.

  6. Hi All

I am new to this forum and find it very informative and friendly. My wife and I will be retiring to Thailand in 1.5 years, our dream is to have a small subsistence farm, well maybe a large garden would be a better term. Something on the order of 10 to 12 rai seems about right for us. My brother in law is encourging us to consider something larger and putting in fish ponds or rubber trees. Well I am open to the idea but totally ignorant of both. I have found some info regarding fish farming on a large scale, but nothing on small scale ponds, also can not find much about growing rubber trees. Perhaps some of you can pass along some help so I can gather a bit of knowledge in this area. Thanks.
