  1. My wife and step son applied for their uk settlement visa on the 05/11/10 and they received their visa yesterday 03/12/10, that's 4 weeks exactly.

rhino10, I booked the flights here in the uk, I'm also not flying out there. The only mistake made in the visa application is she put down the 30/12/10 as the day she would like to travel to the uk. Now the visa has been issued the start date of the visa is 30/12/10, so I'm gutted now my wife, her son and our son (who I've never seen yet in person) won't be here for Christmas.

Never mind, at least they got the visa smile.gif and on the 02/01/11 they will be here!

I hope, none of the last 2 applicants waiting on here have put their date they would like to travel to the uk after Christmas?

    Good Luck!

  2. My partner will be applying for a uk settlement visa soon and I have an employment letter from my boss stating my salary, hours etc. But I'm not sure how long I will be working at my current job. so I'm wondering by the time the embassy see all the documents do they call your employer or not to clarify your position? Because I might of moved onto a different job by then.

    Thanks

  3. If the sponsor's original uk passport is sent to regent house with all the other supporting documents for the uk settlement visa, do they hand back the original passport and just forward copies of the passport onto the embassy? or do the embassy want to see the original passport because the passport doesn't have certified copies with it?

  4. Sounds fine.

    How many bedrooms is it?

The Home Office considers 2 bedrooms for 3 people to be fine but for 4 people to be overcrowding.

If it's 3 bed and just you two and your parents, no problem.

It's a 3 bedroom house. 1 bedroom for my mum. 1 bedroom for our kids one is 4 ( counts as half a person) and the other is a month old (doesn't count as a person) under the immigration rules. the other bedroom is a downstairs front living room converted into a bedroom for me and my partner, is that okay??. there is also the back living room, which will be left as a living room, and of course a kitchen and a bathroom.

  5. Is the following enough evidence for the ECO on accommodation.

Parent invitation letter, stating the number of rooms and the invitation for the applicant.

Mortgage statement, showing the mortgage payments.

    Addressed bills.

Photos of the house including the rooms and the sizes of the rooms.

Do I need to include anything else on the accommodation side?

  6. my thai husband and his daughter who is 3 are applying for a UK settlement visa shortly. I know they have to fill in 2 VAF 4 forms and pay 2 fees, but on the under 18 section 4.26 and 4.27 it says to the child will you be travelling alone? the answer to that is no. so on section 4.27 it says if accompanied provide up to two adults who will accompany you. can my husband travel alone with his daughter or do i need 2 fly with them 2 make up the other adult?
