Hi,
I did type "sure" in Thai keyboard and that's ......
'SU' is a "Cxxx", a female part
and 'RE' is a male part. ...................how creative.
"cool"
I think meadish's right and I think think เจ็ง Jeng is the best one (informal).
เทห์ Thee is a more common use i.e. Your car's cool (Rod khun Thee Jung!).
A teenager might say (Rod Jeng or Rod Jeng Jeng รถเจ๊งเจ็ง = a lower tone on the first Jeng).
However, you might hear this and they also mean 'cool'.
- เด็ด (Dede short sound and same when pronounce to 7)
i.e. Dede Mak = pretty cool.
- เด็ดดวง (Dede Doung) was used in old day like in 70's but I heard someone said it lately. I guess it might comes back in fashion.
- สะแด่ว (Sa daew) another old word
New cool words. The most recent one I've known are these 2 words.
"Naew and Baan" (they have the opposite meaning).
- Naew (แนว) is mostly used when you see someone that dress uniquely from others/drive uncommon car/ cool job/ highly self confident that kinda thing.
They are seen as cool people in Thai teenage eyes, I think. They're someone like Art direct of a TV/print ad. They're kinda arty and a trend leader. So I guess that "Naew" can also mean "Cool". Please comment on this.
- Baan (บ้าน) or BaanBaan (when saying) is totally the opposite to Naew.
It means something or someone that's not uniquely different from other,
follow the trend, just like others. I.e. All Siam Square kids dress the same way
(Deg Siam Square Taeng Tou BaanBaan).
I'll think for more.

That was a very scary/sad story.
And I was wrong....
the right rule was no men were allowed to touch but women were.
I think I'm right this time.
For Ayudhaya trip, there are a lot of nice restaurants by the river too.
They have great river fish and pawn dishes.

Hi,
I can't remember a name of Ayudhya King's wife who died in a boat accident but surely it wasn't Suriyothai. Suriyothai died in the elephant battle, Thai calls it "Yuthahatthi". While the one that died in a boat accident was because in old days,
no ones're allowed to touch the King's women so in the accident, no one dared to help her.
bye

Hi,
you know the king's dog, ThongDaeng, was once a soi dog and is now the most popular soi dog in Thailand. She even has a book and T-shirts.

Hi Mai Krap and all the Koi lovers,
First of all, I'm Thai and I love the Thaivisa forum.
This is my new first post and that's because I'm a Koi freak myself.
I have now about 40 kois and that was a mistake as it's getting too crowded.
Here're links to Thai Koi websites. I think most of them in Thai but
the pictures are nice anyway.
http://www.fancycarp.com/link.html
I'm too byuying Koi from JJ market. You have to go at the Pet area and it also opens on week day. If I remember it right, only close on Monday and Friday.
There're 3 Koi shops that I think have a higher quality fish. However, I can't describe it here. Already did that to a Thai friend once on the phone and turned out that I have to be there to show him the places.
- You have to go there a bit early like before 8.00am to fight with other for good Kois. It's quite a good fun actually.
- I suggest you not to jump into any beautiful Koi and buy it right away just like me. You'd end up having too many fish in your pond. I suggest try to study how many Koi you can have in your pond first. Then the proportion of each type. This is quite important. Personally I love Ogon (purely white/yellow) and I now have 6 of them. Good proportion of this should be 1O% of Ogon. So I you can have 20 koi in you pond you should have just 2 Orgons. By following this method, you can creat the balance of the colour of your pond, this is a Japanese philosophy though.
- Actually, the quality of Koi in JJ market isn't that good though it's cheap.
There's a lot of Koi Farms in BKK and Pattaya but it's more like a thousand baht up. In JJ, you'll get like good quality fish for beginners.
- Be careful for disease when bringing new koi in especially in this rainy season.
I bought one last year around this time of the year and it had parasites. Turn out I lost 5 good fish from this incident. So don't forget to buy some medicine to kill and clean all your new Koi before putting them in your pond.
Well I apologise for my english. Hope this can help.
Take care and good luck!
