    Let me guess:

you had a US$ account in Singapore with UOB and they granted a loan which was directed to UOB Thailand and the money was sent to Thailand and converted to Thai Baht and then looks like it is from UOB Thailand. I have seen this. Like you, the person did not work in Thailand.

How is this a typical situation? It is not.

Definition of typical situation: a person who works in Thailand and has a decent salary of 180,000 Baht per month with a Thai company or foreign company for a couple years who wants to buy a house and get mortgage?

Nope don't have a US$ account in Singapore and never banked with UOB before..All they asked for was my employment contract and verified the details and whatever else the bank does behind the scenes to approve the loan, it was thereafter approved.

  2. Try UOB..

They gave the wife a loan (she doesn't work ) with me as guarantor (don't work in Thailand, thus have no work permit)..We paid 20% down..

Interesting. I already asked the nearest UOB branch and they told me there was about no chance it would be accepted (the word "freelance" make them turn pale biggrin.png)

Can you tell me when and where (what UOB branch) your credit was accepted? Could always give it a try, but since I don't pay any tax, I doubt I have a chance.

This was about 2 years back so they may have changed their policy but it was their main branch downtown..

  3. I have a non-O multiple visa based on marriage which will expire at the end of December (30th) this year. I commute back and forth to Thailand due to working abroad.

I entered Thailand earlier this month (november) so my 90 days stamp will be valid till Feb 2015.. However, I need to leave at the beginning of December and won't be back until January 2015.. is it possible to get a re-entry permit based on the 90 day permission to stay or do I have to re-apply for another NON-O in January..

Or is it possible to apply for an extension of stay in December even though my 90 day permission is still valid?

    Many thanks for the help

  4. I've noticed that everytime i change to full screen the english channels freeze after about 5-10 mins and have to refresh then it freezes again after about 5-10 mins...anybody else experience this and know how to fix??

  5. Escuse me for going off topic, but could someone take a little time to explain to me why a man married to a Thai would need a multiple-entry visa? Why not just get the regular Non-Imm O, after 90 days extend it for the rest of the year, and then extend it annually after that? If you need to travel abroad you get a re-entry permit when you need it. The advantage would be that you build up continuous legal residence time that is required if you apply for permanent resicence. I would think that using multiple entry visas you have to start over again every time you cross the border. That doesn't make sense to me, so could somebody straighten me out?

this would be an option if one worked in Thailand but if you work outside Thailand, the 90 day report is not feasible since I stay for a few days go back to work, stay for another few days then head back to work........

  6. Saw this newsclip a few months ago and went to the the local dealer down the road to ask them about it.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/06/12/us-mitsubishimotors-recall-idUSKBN0EN0WA20140612

In their broken english they said they not aware of anything..It's been two months now and still no news from them..

Anybody have similar experience with their dealer about this recall or were told that it affects mitsubushi in Thailand as well??
