  1. Is this the same guy? Has he already served the 2 year sentence he received in 2010?

BANGKOK: -- The son of Paijit "Por Pratunam" Thammarojpinit, Boonsit, was yesterday handed a two year jail sentence for conspiring with 10 others to assault two men and damage property at a Wang Thong Lang bar in July 2008.

The Criminal Court halved Boonsit's jail term and released him on a Bt120,000 bail.

According to the indictment Boonsit and the 10 others, who are still at large, assaulted Krisada Srisopon and Pravit Boonpornpimol, coowners of the Yahaii bar, and caused Bt33,025 worth of damages on the night of July 12, 2008.

The court didn't suspend Boonsit's sentence because it was considered daring and showed a disregard for the law and hostility to the victims.

Boonsit has claimed that he has compensated the victims, that it was his first criminal offence and that he had to take care of his family.

  2. It definitely colours your views, to the extent that Thai strangers act in complete opposite to what I often read here. I can offer many examples but two incidents in the last two weeks stand out.

A couple weeks ago I was driving my motorcycle down a very, very narrow soi which is just wide enough for one car to squeeze through. It was a busy morning with many pedestrians and vendors. At one point I was passing another motorcycle and to my left was a parked motorcycle. I ended up clipping the parked bike, pushing it forward and almost knocking it down. My first thought was holy **** I am done.

The motorcycle taxi driver who owns the bike comes over and starts examining it. I have no option but to sit quietly and wait, expecting the worst. After about 2 minutes he says 'ok'. gives me a nod and a smile and lets me go.

Thai Visa general forums had me believing that I would pay through the nose and unknown Thai people would come forward demanding payment for phantom injuries.

Then the other day I withdraw money from the ATM, put all of it except for 1,000 back in my wallet. I have the 1,000b note, my phone and the receipt in one hand and unknowingly I drop the 1,000. All of a sudden, on my left aThai lady yells "Hey you!" while at the same time a lady on my right grabs my arm. The lady on the left picks up my money and...shock... gives it to me!

Edited to clarify that I was on a motorcycle as well.

  3. Hi guys, I'm hoping someone has experience with this and can answer my question

I have a Non O visa and my current entry stamp is valid until April 21. As it turns out, I need to take an Int'l trip on April 29th.

Instead of doing a visa run on the 21st, can I just overstay and pay the 2,000thb fee upon departure at the airport? Will this affect my current visa at all?

  4. As said only a tourist visa can routinely be extended 30 days. For extension you would need work permit and full company paperwork for extension of stay and could only do at Chiang Watanna unless working for a company allowed to use one-stop.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply.

So I am able to get a 7 day extension? Would this be 7 days from date of 90 expiry or 7 days from date I received extension (my visa expires on a Sundayso I have to go earlier)?

And is the cost 1,900THB for 7 days?

  5. I obtained a single entry business visa in KL and understand I can extend it by 30 days if necessary.

If correct, can I get this extension at a 1 stop visa centre like the one on Rama 4 or do I need to go to Chang Wattana?

Also, do I need original documents or is my passport all that is needed? will I need new passport photo?

Sorry for the question, i did search forum for the answer but could not find similar situation.
