We went back to London for 2 years , Now back in Thailand thank god , For those of you that left Uk long ago you would have a shock if you thought you would live on £1000.00 a month , And you may think you will work , well you would have another shock because there are 100 people after the same job and if you have not had the insight to make sure you have a property you already own to move to, you will be renting and your £1000 a month will just about cover the rent , We have noticed that it costs a lot more now but rents are low and schools are affordable . I have seen all this before in the UK and around the world its a 10 year circle you just look around you, too much borrowed money spent on building that they cant sell cars they cant pay for and its just a matter of time before the bart has to down as exports will fall jobs will go and everyone ( banks ) will want there money ,

I now use UKforex it gives me the best rate and no charge over £3000.00 there is a £7 charge if under that ,but wont do under £1000 . I buy on line then do transfer to them and money is paid into my Bangkok bank its so easy . I was using Hifix but the rates were not good i get about 1 bt more per £ with Ukforex and lower charges . It will take a little time to set up but its worth it , banks are really expensive .

If you owed me 14 months rent you would not be running anywhere

Hi all just got TEXT this afternoon to say sent today i have to pick it up in phuket text sent at 10 -15 this morning but only hit the phone at 3 this afternoon dont know why so cant pick it up till tomorrow i am a bit worried because it says ----Processed visa application ref----- couriered to you via gda on the 07/10/2010 does not say visa ready did anyone with visa granted get same text dont think i will get much sleep tonight anyway good luck to you all will post tomorrow when i pick it up .

I've been waiting with my Fiancee in Thailand for 1 month ... can't wait any longer ... the business is calling me back. Flying back tomorrow.

We are both staring at the 'Mercury' entry on the list ... and getting concerned that the wait is getting a lot longer. Any one have any updates on Mercury?

What did give us a shock is when the embassy (August statistics) changed the processing times from 67% (in 30 days) to 12% (in 30 days).

This is quite a big change ...
