  1. Greetings and thanks for all the helpful informations provided by the suppportive members of TV.  May I summerized as follow :

    1) Appplication can be made both on the way in or out , but only at Bkk airport not DMK

    2) Need a six months re-entry visa

    3) Passport with 2 years vlidity

4)Blue PR ook , House registration and a Thai person as guarantor

It would take about 15 to 45 minutes to get this done and so far nobody mentioned any fees so may I presume it is free ?

Please feel free to chip in if I have missed anything

  2. Greetings.  Presently on PR status in Thailand, job entails a lot of travelling in and out of the Kingdom. Every time the immigration officers would take ages to check on their computers before they can stamp on the blue PR book until this last time, the supervisor told me that with PR status , I can apply for a e pass..

Tried to enquire about that at their regional office (Hatyai)  but nobody seems to know about this. Wondering if anybody here at TV can shine more light on this. Your kind assistance would be much appreciated.

  3. Go and get a solicitor and take the neighbour to court , better than losing the wits and your home . Make sure you go with your wife to discuss with the solicitor . Moving is the last resort , what are you going to do if your new neighbour is in the same category ? Are you going to cut off both of your legs to avoid snakes ?

Ever watch " Neighbour from Hell " ? Why should the relationship between you and wife suffer because of a stupid neighbour ?

If a letter from your solicitor doesn't help . then the next phase is to SHAME her , video her in her antics and put them up the social media.

Try this first and keep us posted.

  4. Bullhockey headline about "new lover". There's nothing in the original story to indicate they were anything more than acquaintances having a drink together.

In Thailand, there's only one reason for a woman to enter a man's room, just the two of you.

My Thai neighbors warned me of that, just after I arrived here.

They actually went into more detail ............. translated from polite Thai,

"Can we go somewhere more private" = I'm married so we'll have to use a short-time hotel.

"I can give you a lift home on my m/c" = I'm broke and married, so it's up against a tree in the jungle.

"Would you like to have a drink at my place" = I'm single so we can use my bed, I'll pay for the booze.

    What a load of sh1t...

    How so??

  5. youre right the girlfriend uses the normal "Thai get out" excuse , she was too close, first rule is to allow enough space to stop in any conditions.

The law will say that if you hit a vehicle from behind, then you are automatically at fault, but there are times when it would be unfair

to blame the person who hit the vehicle traveling in front. Think about it.

    Exactly.

Legally the girlfriend was in the wrong, but in reality it was the stupid driver.

I did the same thing about 5years ago. I was looking for a bar, saw it as I drove past it and slammed on the brakes. A bar girl rammed into me on her bike. It was my fault, but not legally.

She was justifiably pissed off. She was going to be late for work, so I paid her bar fine and told her to go to a repair shop, and if it was under 2000 to get fixed, I would just pay it. More, then we use my insurance. She was quoted 4,000, so we went to the broker who was only 1km away.

I told her to say that I backed into her. I thought she understood why.

We wet to the broker, I told her "happened" but she said we had to wait for the insurance rep to come and look. It took about an hour for him to show up. I told him what happened. Then he started speaking to her.

To my horror she started telling him the truth.

It was unravelling, so I have tried to tell her discreetly "go hok" lie. She then started crying and screaming that she wasn't lying.

So the insurance bloke said he wasn't paying and I got exposed for insurance fraud. Luckily he just left, and the broker who saw it all was also cool.

The girl, mustn't have known legally it was her fault, much like I expect the the OP's girlfriend didn't. Legally, she was wrong, but in REALITY it was my shit driving that caused it.

She won't admit she was wrong, because she actually wasn't wrong. She will be questioning the OPs farang mentality.

Which all goes back to ....Aren't we suppose to keep a SAFE distance from the car in front ? The Law ? Common Sense ?

  6. No , that is not Thai mentality . that's your girlfriend's mentality . By the way , does she have driving license for car , or even a motor cycle ?

The law is very clear but hard to say about common sense on this. Anyway , she is your girlfriend and you should know her better , she happens to be Thai doesn"t necessarily means she represents all Thais.

Btw , I am not a Thai apologists nor Thai basher , just my two cents worht of thoughts!

  7. When you find out, post it. Also post how much business income tax they pay into the Thai revenue system.

In 2009 , the concession right was 700 million baht for a period of 3 years. It was won through an "Open Auction" , though the consortium that won the auction still have to negotiate with the existing holder to let him into a joint venture.

Nobody knew how many shots were fired and how many got killed. The Big shots, ie Politicians, Police , Mafias all got their hands in the pie.

IF I am a foreign tourist , I would not even bother to go near those areas and it is meaningless to complain as you would come across some mad ones pullling out guns on you even when you are driving on the road. And these people are just protecting their livelihoods.

Btw , the on-going price for a kilo of processed birds nest is usd22,000. So you would see a lot of houses are being transformed into caves to entice the birds to build their nests here in the South. Of course the cultured ones are cheaper.

The bottom line is ...this is Thailand ...and dont expect the Government , the Thais to act and behave like Westerners. Life would be much simpler if we can come to that conclusion.
