Thanks for posting your speed test, but could you please elaborate a little on provider - package and which speed test used.
Is this a website or an app you used?
Thanks
Oops, sorry.
I tested this on this webpage:
My provider is TOT and I live near Sattahip.
My package is 1 Gb/500 Mb for 24 months, so I pay every month only 700 Baht plus VAT 7%.
I tested it with my computer and the router via LAN cable.

This doesn´t answer my question why is it so slow today !
-
The internet is really slow today !!!
No like the days before. I am using TOT and everybody in Bangsaray, Sattahip area has the same problems.
-
300 kbps is really sloww. This is only 37.5 kBps !
Are you sure your line is OK ?

the-best.tv doesn´t work for me too.

Here is the website where you can test website, Down for everyone or just me?
With this website it says that the page is down.

Firefox Add-On "DownThemAll" works on Vista.
Orbit Downloader works on Vista.
Free Download Manager works on Vista.

I used Cat2Call in the past with Windows 32 bit OSs.
Recently I bought Windows 7 64 bit and you know what ? Cat2Call doesn´t work anymore !!!
Then I went to CAT Telecom and complained about it and after 1 hour of calling to a technician in BKK the staff told me that C
at2Call doesn´t work on Windows OSs with 64 bit.
I tried every combination like " Run as administrator" and/or Compability Mode but didn´t work out.
Of course no mention of it on their website and no mention of it when I bought Cat2Call.
This is totally unacceptable because for years now Windows 64 bit OSs are out.
And asking for the refund of my money: Cannot, sir !!!
CAT Telecom, welcome to the 21st century !!!

I did the same.
I moved from Pattaya to Sattahip and they charged nothing.
But you can do that only 1 time.
But better you ask in the CAT office to confirm that.

@george
This doesn´t explain why suddenly the internationeal speeds are so slow.
By the way JustMe has a TOT line.
I have CAT HiNet and the same problem. 1 hour ago the speed of my connection was very good like everyday. So there must have been a problem.

Grown ups can get dengue fever too !!!
I personally know 4 people who got it last year.
-
If davejonesbkk uses a TOT line he can´t use Maxnet with it, right ?
For Maxnet you would need a TT&T line.
-
Works fine here in Pattaya with CAT HiNet

If you think emule is too slow try emule Applejuice then !!!

If you want to use 4 GB you must have a 64 bit operating system.
So you use Windows XP. Is it 32 or 64 bit ?
If it is 64 bit it is ok. If it is 32 bit your Windows Vista could only use around 3 GB of it.

You don´t need a telephone line for Internet from CAT.
You get a cable from them and this is only for Internet.
You cannot call with this line.
It is the best option in Thailand, pretty fast but a little more expensive.

@ virtualtraveller
You wrote: Another excuse for the terrible Thailand internet (CAT) to blame their incompetence on.
You are using TOT and Maxnet, so what has CAT to do with them ?
TOT and Maxnet(TT&T) have their own international and national IIG and NIX.
And by the way, CAT works great for me !
-
Comodo Firewall and avast Antivirus is a good combination.
-
Don´t forget !
You always share your connection with many other users. That means for example you have a 2 Mbit line you share it with 10-20 or more people. Only if you access a webpage inside Thailand you have the 2 Mbit for you alone. Internationally you share your 2 Mbit line with others.
Sorry for my english. I hope you understand anyway !
And by the way : I have a 3 Mbit line from CAT, sharing it with up to 5 people the CAT office said. Unfortunately I pay 3000 Baht for it. But it is very good, almost everytime the advertised speed. But not like TT&T and TOT, CAT doesn´t give me more speed for the same money in the future.
Post your 1Gb speed tests here

Downloaded a game from the Epic Games store, around 100 MB with a 1 Gb (125 MB) connection. I am happy with that !
