  1. I buy my catheters from Thai Pure Device (M.E. Meditek). They are the actual manufacturers not retailers. I am not sure they are interested in selling small quantities to people. They mostly sell to hospitals. My wife used to work there and it may be a favor.
  2. Just for information, I use non reusable sterile catheters for intermittent self catheterization (male) now. I prefer not to use reusables for convenience and not to risk UTI. I pay 6,250 Bahts for 500 pcs, 12.5 Bahts/pc delivered at my house. For lubrication, I just buy a K-Y sterile (not sure it's necessary) gel at any pharmacy. I am used to it now and it's not painful.
  3. Thanks to all for the information. Unfortunately it would be too expensive or too cumbersome to import by myself
  4. Has anyone found a good source of hydrophobic urinary catheter for intermittent catheterization? I can only find basic nelaton catheters. Thanks
  5. Just some information that may be useful to others: In a Bangkok private hospital linked to the Thai social security (SS). I contribute under section 39 (432 Bahts/month). 1 - Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy for a stone in my ureter. Cost before private assurance and SS: about 80,000 Bahts. Actually paid: 0 2 - TURP and destruction of large stones in the bladder. Cost before private assurance and SS: about 200,000 Bahts. Actually paid: about 40,000 Bahts.
  6. Any that can do TURP or HoLEP in Bangkok at a reasonable price. I am under Thai Social Security and have a small private health assurance.
  7. Thanks to all for this useful information. I am a little surprised that Bumrungrad is much cheaper than what I was quoted and it's not in a top hospital. I will investigate further.
  8. I have a relatively large prostate, more than 100 cc. For now, I take a medication to alleviate the symptoms but plan for surgery. With a prostate this size I was told there are two possible minimally invasive procedures: TURP and HoLEP (laser). I have got cost estimates from a hospital and would like to compare with other hospitals. Has anyone used TURP or HoLEP recently and how much did it cost?
  9. My wife and I have been directors of our company for more than 20 years. People at our social security office have always refused to register us under section 33. My daughter is shareholder but not director. No problem to have her registered.
  10. I have been doing "Thai wife* annual extensions for more than 20 years. Last year for the first time I was asked to provide 2 copies of each document instead of 1. Is it still the rule at CW this year? Thanks
