  1. I work for a TV station in Singapore. We use those you mentioned above in our weekly LIVE talk show. The telephone number is provided by the telco. The banner at the bottom of the screen is provided by a third party who flashes the number (in our show it is a phone number to call in, a twitter update, the poll question and the vote numbers). Another company provides the poll when someone votes and it gets updated on the TV screen LIVE. Two different companies are involved. The software written for the vote question and poll was done by a China company, the same company that did the Beijing Olympic. Hope you can understand my reply. thanks!

  2. Go to soidb.com. I found some local restaurants in their website. I saw a Korean BBQ restaurant catered mostly for locals on Petchaburi Road closer to Phrom Phong. It's on the left on the way to Amari (which is on your right, if you are coming from Pratunam)

  3. @Hermespan. I live in Singapore. Singapore's Police is called Singapore Police Force not National Police of Singapore. I am pointing out in case you got into a wrong website. http://www.spf.gov.sg/cbni/

Quote from the Singapore Police Force website:

    "Obligations of a Traveller

If you carry more than SGD 30,000 or its equivalent in CBNI into or out of Singapore, you are required to make a report on the Physical Currency and Bearer Negotiable Instruments Report (Traveller) form or NP727 form. You may also be asked by an Immigration Officer or other authorised officers to fill in the form if you have not done so."

    "Penalty

Failure to give a full and accurate report is an offence under the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act (Chapter 65A) (CDSA). The punishment is a fine not exceeding SGD 50,000, or an imprisonment term not exceeding 3 years, or both. The CBNI may also be seized if a person fails to give the report."

    Hope this helps.

  4. I know a professional Thai photographer. He does profile shoots for models. Speaks English very well. If you have a Facebook account, you can check his profile. Type "Exclusive Photography by TohTeh". Let me know if you like me to contact him.

  5. 300 stallholders protetsing out of 15,000 stalls? Another newspaper reported it as 100 stallholder protesters.

Might not have helped having the protest on a Saturday afternoon of course, when the markets are open and the stallholders working.

The news station that I work with reported about this protest yesterday (Saturday). So this was yesterday's news.

  6. @Vtforyou....I so agree with you. He should learn to assimilate with the locals. I often do that when i travel to a foreign country. Get to know the people and culture and hardly look for someone from my country except the contacts of my embassy.

  7. Pubs with Filipino singers. Pub at Sukhumvit Soi 7; Mojo Bar has a Filipino singer; The Corner at Soi Cowboy and the pub opposite The Corner has Filipino band. There is a church near Ploenchit that has mass in Tagalog. Let me get more info on the church. I'm more familiar where the beers are.

  8. Happened to me too. I was in BKK and had to change my flight back to Singapore. No one answered the phone when I called the Thai Airways BKK office. I then had to make an international call back to Thai Airways in Singapore to get my flight changed, Waste of money when you think you are in Thailand and could contact their local Thai Airways office. BTW, I still dont get it why Thai Airways had to park the farthest from the immigration at gate C7 or C5 depending on your flight. That is 800metres from the immigration. Yes...Smooth As Silk!
