Kota Bharu is a cool consulate and you need 8 months.
Hello Deli,
Thank you for your input, can you please tell me the last time you went.
I understand all the comments about Khota Bharu, however I prefer to go their over Penang as I drive and it is easy to park my vehicle in Sungai.
Many thanks to all.

Can anybody please give me an update on the time remaining on the work permit to get a Non B multiple entry from Khota Bharu.
I have been hearing many different times, from 6 months and other people saying you must have 9 months left.
Any actual experiences are greatly appreciated.

I paid 1740 per cube for 210 KSC in Kalasin last week. Ordered a total of 85 cube.
You should do a lot shopping around. I had quotes starting at 2000 baht first.
85 cubic metres is a lot of concrete and will require a lot of people to manage when pouring- what are you building?
building a pig farm in Kalasin. This was just the concrete for the floor.
Hello Robert24,
For you're 85 Cubes, can you please help me and tell me the sort of area and depth that covered?
I am doing a building project of my own at the moment and I have a large walkway area to concrete, so I am trying to work out aprox how much this will cost.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards.

I am flying out of Suvarnabhumi for 5 days, will I able to leave my vehicle in the short term car park for that amount of time.
I would rather leave my vehicle in the short term car park as it is covered and I feel it will be safer. (hopefully)
Anybody whom has used the parking there, any advice is gratefully appreciated.
Yes, we do it monthly or even more often for between five and seven days. B250 per day (24 hour period) is still the rate.
Many thanks matta330, appreciated.

Does anybody have any insight into the tarmac project around Bophut/Maenam that seems to start and then suddenly stop.
Will they ever finish the road and make it a bit more pleasant to drive on, or will it be left for another 5 years before anything is done.

Does anybody know of a place in Hatyai that can remove slight scratches from a car widscreen.

Many of these are made in China..E Bay ships fast to Thailand usually free
I'm wondering if the "usually free" also applies to customs duty? I've never bought anything from E Bay in Thailand.
No, tax is only payable over something over 1000B ( ish )
The Chinese shippers use China post, and I have never been given a tax bill from a Chinese item, only expensive items from Europe or US, using EMS or a carrier.
The shipping is usually free from China, It's just a way of presenting an incentive to buy, "free shipping" !! Wow .. You just pay the minimal shipping fee in the item price.
eBay and aliexpress are worth keeping an eye on, the only thing is the 3-6 week waiting time.
Thank you so much for all the info you gave, very informative.

Hello there,
Can anybody help, I am looking to buy a good quality car dash-cam from somewhere in HatYai, does anybody know any good retailers that sell car dash-cams in the area.
Many thanks for any help given.

It's been covered here before but from the last time I did it, this was what I did:
1. DMV in Hatyai and get your book translated to English
2. Once at the Sadoa side, go to any of the insurance agent and get Malaysian insurance for the duration of your stay. They wont let you in if your windows are too dark.
(There are probably Malaysian insurance offices in Hatyai but the above is the way I used to do it, albeit some years ago.)
There is also nowadays, some kind of passport for your car but I think that is only acceptable in Laos and\or Cambodia, can't remember.
Many thanks South, I tried to find the previous threads with no luck.
All info greatly appreciated.

Hi guys,
Any info is greatly appreciated on driving my own vehicle from Hat Yai to Penang.
I am after info on the border crossing mainly. i.e. step by step process from entering immigration on Thai side through getting insurance to entering Malaysia.
I have lived in Thailand for many years, but have never done a border crossing in my own vehicle, so any logical information is appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
Dave.

Does anyone know of safe car parking in Sungai Kolok, whether it be parking at the border, or staying in one of the hotels and asking the hotel if I can leave my vehicle whilst I go to khota bharu for a visa.
Any experiences, advice greatly appreciated.

I installed a safe t cut recently as well. I was fortunate that my rental house electrics were properly grounded. All I had to do was to replace many of the two pin sockets with 3 pin sockets as the ground wire was already available. I asked a sparky to install a main whatever it is called switch between the incoming power lines and my fuse box. I then installed the safe t cut before the fuse box together with the sparky as he had no idea how it should be done. The safe t cut comes with a schematic so it's not that hard. Just make sure everything is grounded or the device is of little use. I purchased the safe t cut and grounded outlets on the internet. Way cheaper than at home pro. Also home pro only had 1 or 2 models.
I recently had the safe t cut cut of my electric a few times in succession. I unplugged everything, flipped the electric back on and started plugging in devices. I found that my toaster was faulty and the casing was getting power on it. I don't want to know what would have happened to anyone touching the toaster without the safe t cut installed...
Hello Gulfsailor,
Can you please tell me where you purchased your Safe T Cut from, as the only units I can find are at homepro and they only have the 50A units and I would like the 63A version.
Than you.

If you want to work in this country you need to go and get a work permit, why should everybody on Phuket and Samui have to get them and special little Koh Tao doesn't.

Does anybody know if I can park my truck at the border in Sungai Kolok, or any safe places to park in the town itself.
Thanks.

Yes it is a Fund Book. I have one and so do some of my Clients.

I was in my local branch of SCB the other day talking to the bank mgr about investment opportunities, he said to me about an investment account called "Fun book" he only showed me an SMS on his telephone and said there was no tax to pay and very good interest rates, he also said that many Thais had such an account. My question is, has anybody on TV heard of an account called fun book as I cannot find any details on the SCB website, I am just trying to make sure that I am not being taken for a ride.
Any help appreciated.
