  1. Have just arrived for 42 days on a 60 day visa but have to return to UK urgently for 5 days. When I return I will be staying 29 days so I plan to just enter on a normal tourist visa. However the hotel is telling me I have to go to immigration office in Hua Hin and pay 1000 baht to do this.........?? Can anyone confirm if this is nevessary?

  2. If you are taking the public bus then they will take you whatever. If yu are taking the VIP bus then it can get full so booking the day before is advisable. If you need somebody to help you in Ranong then I always use Kompas - 086941 5365. If you call him the night before he will meet you at the bus station and arrange everything for you including the dollar note and the boat, then take you back to the bus station usually in time for the 10.30. am public bus to BKK arriving BKK around 8 pm. The return VIP bus only gleaves Ranong at 8 pm in the evening. All for under 1,000.

  3. yes I visited the eye doctor in Hua Hin too and have to go back for examination of the rettina, but somehow not sure if I want to go any further. He charged 600 for the initial examination which I thought was over the top. I was the only client during the 2 hours I was there....... I would be interested if you were able to contact any former patients. He seemed nice enough but was not that cheaper than other more acceptable places - 35,000 for the op but when you added the coat of the lens........

  4. I take the public bus direct to Ranong departing about 11 pm from the Clock Tower arriiving Ranong about 6 am (220 baht). Then taxi to the pier and across by boat to Myamar (not the Club). Usually back to the bus station in Ranong in time to catch the 10.30 am bus back arriving in Cha am 5 pm or so. Have to go end of next week and was thinking of driving down if I can get somebody to share petrol.
