No need to panic too much, though. Thailand is in a lucky situation due to its climate. Thanks to the hot climate, people are either outdoors where the concentration of the virus loaded aerosols is low, as the dwell time of droplets and aerosols in the air is short.

Or they are indoors with an AC switched on, and the AC reduces aerosols and droplets in the air as well, leading also to low virus concentrations in the inhaled air. This low virus load statistically leads to mostly weak or asymptomatic cases.

If the above is correct (which seems a fair assumption), why have other countries in SE Asia (e.g. Hong Kong, Malaysia) or the Middle East had many more reported cases than Thailand over the past 6 months?

  2. They’ve just done this in my condo on Phratamnak Hill, Pattaya. I appreciate their enthusiasm and the desire to do good, but that lift is about 5ft across. I plan to stand on the arrow next to the door and watch everyone scratch their heads on what to do next if they want to get in the lift 1f642.png

  3. 90 day report at Patong (Phuket) today. Opens 13:00 - 15:00 in the afternoon. Guy just outside the entrance (in his own tiny office) saw me reading the form-filling guides, asked me what I was there for, pulled me inside his office and did me 3 passport photocopies for 60 THB. I went in at 14:00, was second in the queue, dealt with politely and in a friendly manner, in and out in 5 minutes. Very refreshing. Well done Patong Immigration!! ????

  4. I have carried 2 UK passports for some years now. Many times I have left Thailand one one passport (the one that has my TM6, arrival card, in it, which I call my 'main' passport), then entered and left another country using my other passport. When I returned to Thailand, I switched back to my main passport.

I have never had a problem and the IO has never asked to see the exit stamp from the country I just visited.

Same here shortly after reading your post. She also sold me accident insurance which I was grateful for because my previous bank stopped mine when I turned 70. I'm now almost 75. I feel certain I could've opened it without the insurance.

I opened an account last week (In Pattaya). Was offered the insurance, declined, but she still opened the account for me ????

  6. "What is the difference here between the taxi driver who was charging Bht 40 over the top and the pharmacy who is charging Bht 210 over the recommended price."

One was deception (scam), by the taxi driver, the other was 'price gouging', and you had a choice whether or not to buy.
