PreviousIy I've worked as a Safety Officer in the O&G industry for a couple years..ABC Fire extinguishers should all have a tag on them indicating the date of the last inspection along with the company doing this. It's a cronic problem getting them retested/refilled offshore because of logistics.I believe they empty them and pressure test and refill/recharge. But this is TIT and that costs money. They don't necessarily have to be discarded though.I did take a couple dry powder expired ones to use as a demo for the local Iranian lads and set them off...they were amazed at how few seconds they actually are usefiul for. Kind of funny as they thought they were good to go for 5-7 minutes.lol

    Ditto,

worked in UK Rail Industry 30+ years delivered Fire Safety Training, same as above all extinguishers labelled up dated of test/Inspection  - & who by (our own or outside Co) with a Seal tag intact. We had our own Service Centre to Test/Re-fill/Re-Cert and yes old out of date ones some we would use for Demo/Practical traning. Dry Powder always give a Good shake before use lol...

  3. Does appear the suitcase wheels got caught up and damaged the Travellator End Guard Combs causing a failure of the end step support bolt, the poor lady's foot/leg then being fed into the mechanism.

As someone mentioned luggage/cases should be behind the user on Travellators in case of any issues Re catching/getting caught up which could occur with any moving parts what-ever safe guards are in place. People ultimately need to take care of themselves when using anything, things like using mobile phones, hand held gadgets, ear buds/head phones etc are all Risk raisers. AOT not at fault IMO, but have said they will assist the lady (I am not saying she was on a phone or anthing else just pointing out what lots of people do in everyday life that strikes me as stupid)

  4. Of course hooker is an Americanism for a Prostitute, apparently named after one 'General Hooker' in the American Civil War, who could always be found enjoying himself in 'Houses of ill-repute'

Cricket - As an Englishman I never got it? still don't, as said: Paint, Dry, Boring...

  5. I live in Patong, all the Russians who were living near me (and they were all pleasant nice people BTW) have all just disappeared about six or seven weeks ago. There was about five couples and two single lads all in the 21-35 age group over a fortnight they all slipped away...? I know a couple of the lads not long before this had done a border bounce down to Satun so they must have had valid stay??

IMO there is no way it is as busy as it was two months ago - Bangla etc/ West Coast beaches are deffo not as busy so dont know where all this influx are going Tat? 555

I was in Krabi earlier this year and they have buses as well as other modes of transport to get you to your location at a very reasonable price.  There is no reason for this sort of price gouging to go on in Phuket other than the local hierarchy wants their brown envelopes and so it continues; business as usual as soon as the spotlight is shining somewhere else.

yes but the buses are not much use if the stops are no where near your room hence why they are not a main method by most who cant be bothered

Re; Chipbutty - Dunno it was a US friend on why home, av not heard anything about issues dropping off lately at Phuky...

  7. If he has done as reported then he is a Bell End

however its very rare someone starts smashing windows and or doors of houses at random - more to this story than meets the eye me 'thinks

Having as a 'Brit' spent many a good time (November Carnival anyone?) in Benny can safely report have never seen anyone smashing up houses etc... just a good time normally involving friendly Yorkshire ladies (what happens in Benny -Stays in Benny pmsl) but anyroad lets not let that get in the way of a good bit of Brit Bashing...

If only the government would set a reasonable flat rate to and from the airport in Phuket and enforce it with a strong conviction, then you might be able to get this mafia taxi out of Phuket or at least reduce them.   Meters are great but it is harder to enforce them.  A flat rate with BIG signs everywhere stating the rates, (including on the taxi itself), then there would be less price gouging.   But after this "asking" to be nice business they will go back to their usual monkey business and continue gouging their customers.

Patong to airport by Bolt 450 baht... ystday Cheapest Taxi quote was 800b 555

He missed the one to the dome.

    Sounds like an amateur.

Ditto; reports said gunman pulled up along side - so why walk around to shoot through Windshield?

Would of thought easier to shoot through drivers side window (closer range more chance of hitting target) And Kazak guy they've collared on his way out looks a bigger frame than the dude who was on the bike in CCTV still.

Well there goes the neighbourhood... Bang Tou'ski

  11. as JayClay said, write out an explanation for Q9 as you posted, sign & date it then upload it

    - as long as they have a response you will prob find it all goes well, I last year had to upload similar for a SETV (some of the Qs related to METV only) so for these uploaded written statement Non-applicable for SETV (my visa was granted no probs, this was in UK via London embassy a year ago) Good Luck

If Thailand were like the UK we could use 'uman rights legislation to stay in the Land of Smile for the rest of our lives, and at least partly at public expense!????

Does make one wonder why UK is overflowing with Illegal immigration problems (maybe US too) maybe get the Thai IB's people on the case they could sort it all out without problems of 'No Passport' (UK) Walls (USA)

Ahh just remembered why I like LOS, no Woke issues, easy tickets for freebies
