Khun Vee from Golden Triangle Gallery on Hang Dong Rd, made this center island for me. The base is made from mai pradoo and the top is teak with rosewood trim. There is also a place called Reteak Furniture in Lampoon. Try a search. Their products look good but I'd check them out good. Wood looks thin and looks like their products are nailed together.

Ragu
in Chiang Mai
Promenada closed while the owner of Ragu was in the UK. I helped Mihail sell the assets to someone and they cleaned it out. Mihail had family matters to attend to and his plan was to sell Ragu and when the mall closed that was that.

Bacon
in Chiang Mai

CM Gourmet. Best bacon American style around. We do use a thick cut. I think it’s a special order.

I have about 46 rai of fruit trees in Maetang. Gatorn, limes, rambutan, lumyai, pomelo, tamarind and a few mango. My brother in law was taking care but recently passed away. Anyone know someone who can take care of the fruit? Rambutan coming in and after that lumyai. Gatorn already bought by someone who is bagging and will harvest. He won't be doing the rest.

Just an FYI before everyone expels a lot of energy, we have sold Fat Chow to a Thai couple who will be moving the restaurant down Chang Klan and building a building for it on grandma's land. So the night bazaar location is now empty and available for anyone one who wants a great space. Looks like The River Market might also be sold.

Fat Chow never did, did it?
That's a fair statement. We've done very well in The Night Bazaar with The Duke's for 11 or so years. It's all about the location. Fat Chow will do well as does all the other restaurants around when there are people. Thanks for the clarification.

Just to save everyone the wasted energy, Fat Chow opened last month and because of the lack of business in The Night Bazaar we decided that rather than waste money we would wait until Thailand and The Night Bazaar reopens and business returns. It’s ready to go and will reopen. Many businesses in The Night Bazaar and in other tourist areas want and need business to return and so they are opening and finding that they are simply losing money. We actually put up the for sale sign last month in Chinese only and recently decided to add the English and Thai. It’s a great business in a great location and once the people return it will do well. If someone wants to buy it we would let it go and concentrate on The Duke’s. By the way The River Market, which we spent a lot of time and money fixing up while it was closed, has the same sign. Both great businesses that do very well. Eventually the world will crawl out of this pandemic but in the meantime there are some greats deals to be had. The River Market and Fat Chow are just two of them. If not, when the time comes, we will reopen. Anyone interested in getting themselves a nice business can call Mr. Cham.

And did you subsume the Service Charge into the menu price of the items leaving tipping an optional extra?
“The net price of a product or service is the actual price that customers pay for the product or service. It is the final number after trade discounts are subtracted from the list price.”
Gross or Net you get the idea.
We only do service charge on large parties. Otherwise it is up to you and I’m guessing you’re a very generous person.- 3

Leave it to the Thais; when business is bad, raise the prices -- that will get the money coming back in.... ????
(expletive + ing different expletive + s)
Only raised prices by 3%. We've had the same prices for 4 years. In this menu we included the VAT. Now prices on the menu are net prices.

Sure, the Thaivisa demographic says cheap food that is crappy.
I also know a good place by the moat that serves food drenched in sugar, MSG and soy sauce.

I like Nasi Jamphu but try The River Market, you will be pleasantly surprised. Some of the best new Thai food and dishes in Chiang Mai. Try the red pork belly or some of the seafood dishes including the salmon red curry in coconut. Don't take my word for it. Try it. Not cheap but quality and good. BBQ chicken with som tam, beef short rib panning curry, pork tenderloin moo ping, som dam with soft shell crab. The River Market has the best Thai food in Chiang Mai. Sure I am the owner but look at the food. P eople complain because they want it cheap. Nothing is cheap in Chiang Mai any more.

You cannot have 2 work permits issued by the same work permit office in a province. You can add a 2nd job to a work permit with permission from the original employer on it. The 2nd employer must meet all the requirements to get a work permit.
If working in a different province you could have 2 work permits but the same rules would apply.
I have 4 work permits. 3 are in one book and 1 in another for 4 different 4 million Baht companies. Not all for The Duke's Restaurants. They are for 2 years each and the fees were basically 4 x 2. In 2 I am managing director and in 2 I am just a manager. All issued in Chiang Mai by the way.

I'm wondering ukrules if your friend doesn't have a hotel? Do Guest Houses also qualify to be exempt?
Any way around the provisions besides the obvious.

If you have a license then you can sell it outside these hours. I'm talking about a proper license which must be displayed on the wall.
There are separate licenses for alcohol, food and tobacco.
So now you gone claim that restaurants don't have a license?
Exceptions were made for Hotel Businesses, airports, train stations, Terminal bus stations, piers
Do you see restaurants or bars mentioned in the line above?
Next
Whatever, I know for sure you can get a license to sell alcohol outside these times as I know someone who's got one.
Sure you do. Not possible. Check your facts.
End of story. The cops crack down once in a while. Maybe it's a payoff thing. After all... it's the New Year! Everyone needs money for the Holidays.

This year we've moved the buffet to The River Market. We've added some light jazz music starting at 3:30 and included a beverage. We are also doing some sushi and roast lamb as well as turkey, ham and prime rib. It promises to be a nice event and is still cheaper than any of the other hotel type buffets around.
So because we moved the buffet we are doing turkey and ham dinner at The Duke's locations on Christmas and on Christmas Eve at The Duke's on the river we are doing some nice specials.
When the posters and advertisement first came out they were a little confusing and so we changed them to make it clearer. Ragu is also doing a nice Christmas and Christmas Eve menu. We have been working on our web sites lately so no information there but check out our Facebook pages for information.
I've been looking for a social media person to work for the restaurants for some time now. Thai national.
Sorry about the confusion.

Dave: Can you clarify for me? Your Facebook page says there is 4 seating times at Promenada. But if I understand your post here, anytime is OK? Are you accepting reservations, and are you serving the full Thanksgiving turkey feast in addition to your regular menu?
We will be a party of six, coming from Phrae, so I want to be sure I have the information correct.
Promenada is open seating. Thanks for catching that. I mentioned it to staff and they had already caught it but not changed it yet. Not sure what they are waiting for... Maybe the rice harvest. It's a Thursday so probably not too busy with Thai customers there but this year we think we will do a lot of Thanksgiving dinners.
Just wondering, did anyone get the details on the PunPun Dinner?

By the way I bought all the wood myself in Baan Ti. There are some places out there that will make things for you as well.
