I have a HONDA CB400/4 VTEC II for sale in the Nakhonsawan area. The asking price is 75,000 O.N.O. The bike has done 46000K and recently had new tyres and battery installed. It's been kept in great condition and has only been serviced by reliable mechanics. Regrettable, but due to relocation must sell.

I had a cup of coffee and spooned in what I thought was sugar. When I tasted it, it tasted like strong beef stock, I couldn't drink it. I asked my wife what it was and she said MSG. I told her that I didn't want MSG in my food and she said it was only going into her food. Sure!

It looks as if UBC won't be showing the world cup cricket. It's not scheduled in there magazine. It will be shown on South Africas Supersports channels.
Reminds me of the Soccer world cup - not shown on UBC. Then they had the ordacity to claim they're the home of soccer.

From my experience Thais (including your GF/Wife) will try and get as much money out of you as possible. The Wife/GF will not consider that it's in your both best interests to save money.

The reason most projects in Thailand are not built to the standards you would expect is that when they need repairs there is more money to be made. There doesn't seem to be any accountability so the graft/corruption continues.

Actually with all the talk about Thai drivers, I feel quite comfortable drivng here being a former Taxi driver in Oz.

In the west we’re taught to be “aware” on the roads meaning knowing what is going on around you and don’t put yourself in a dangerous position. So when we drive in Thailand we try and drive courteously and are amazed at what the Thai drivers do.
But in Thai culture they believe in fatalism meaning that Budda is looking after them. So they can do as they please on the road as they have divine protection. That is why we see Thai drivers just pull straight out of a street without looking.
To be honest I thought I would try that once and I got to the corner and zap self preservation came in and I had to look to see if it was safe

Those people who want to keep it on the radar screen also need to check and make sure it's actually him in jail. A couple of years back there was some lady who paid someone else to serve her time--anybody remember that case?
Yes the chap made a career out of it but unfortunately died in prison - a surrogate prisoner.

I think it would be a great idea if they hired all the "native speakers" from the Philippines as this would put an end to them applying for jobs at my language school.

My experience with beggars began when I was having dinner by the side of the lake with my wife. We had bought food from the food stalls in the street. This little boy came over and asked for a hand out, I offered him some food and he refused it and wanted money. I asumed he wasn't a hungry beggar and told him to go.

The deal with land is the same as before. They hold the land in their name on your behalf. So if they go belly up so does your land. So the card is bloody useless!

I lived in Melbourne before I came to Thailand and was astonished that the bars shut so early here. Normally the night doesn't start happenin' till 2AM so Thailand is going downhill fast. Perhaps the people who rely on the night industry for an income will mass together and get rid of this fascist government at the next election.

Of all my friends who have come to Thailand the only reason they came was for the bars the birds and the beach. The beach in Pattaya is awful now so that only leaves the bars and birds. We're all used to 24/7 pubs so it's a shock to find the bars here closing at a time when we a just getting ready to party. I can't see any reason to spend time in Thailand, who gives a toss about temples. If you can't have fun in fun town then we'll be going to someplace close to Singapore.

This is Thailand...
No Logic
and
No common sense

If they want to improve the traffic flow and provide a tourist spectacle at the same time they should create a monorail there.

I can recall that it takes around 2 years to be totally free of the bird flu and that after about 2 months after the govt admitted Thailand had cases of bird flu they gave the all clear - what a joke. It cannot be cleaned up in 1 month as Taksin is demanding. It is a long term thing so it looks like he will be going through a few ministers.

"The Nation" is a good paper to have on a Friday because it has Farang Affairs which is an interesting read.
Also "The Nation" seems to report more information on what is actually going on in Thailand as opposed to the "Bangkok Post" which is scared to be critical of the government.

Taksin should start with himself... Start at the top!

All is not lost as my wife had her tubes cut and tied or whatever they do and that lasted about 15 years and she had an operation here in Thailand to reverse it and about 2 years after the op she conceived so quite unbelievable really as I thought it hadn't worked. So an old bugger like me has a son who is 3 now.
-
It seems to me that most foreigners here are well aware of what the government is up to and rightly criticize however the people that matter, the Thais are seemingly apathetic. Or as one Thai told me "it's none of my business" in other words it doesn't concern him. So things in Thailand will continue to "amaze" me.

By the look of the tips we all bombed out. Very hard to predict however next week...

I think that everybody has missed the point here which is to divert attention away from the recent Bangkok election results and get people discussing something else.
