  1. I want to take a couple of my foreign friends to go grab some burgers here in Bangkok. Do you guys have any recommendation on a place that has some good burgers with a decent price? I'd say around 250-350 is about what we're looking for. I know about Carl's Jr and such, but any non fast food place would be great. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated!

  2. I use Kasikorn as well. I opened up an account with them and had to sign up for what they called k-web shopping card (you can sign up via ATM machines for free). They create for you this "virtual card" information that's doesn't have the same number as your actual debit card. When you want to buy things online, you just type in the virtual card information and go through the confirmation process and you are ready to go.

It's also worth mentioning that the virtual card does tie to your bank account. Though, when you receive a refund for something, it may take awhile before the money shows up in the account. I ran into this problem when I received a refund from PayPal, but the money didn't show up in my account. So, I had to go to one of the branches to make a claim (which required proofs such as receipts, etc) and they reimburse you in about a week. Sent from my SM-N9005

  3. I got mine at a well known and trusted store at MBK. They have imported Note 3 from Malaysia and Hong Kong for about 21,700 Baht. This is my second device from them and least to say, my experience has been pretty good.

  4. Using True service is a good idea since you can have add-on WiFi package with it. It's the one thing that I like about True, their WiFi is everywhere in the major area of the country and most shops have them too. At the end of the day, True is the perfect choice when you are talking about trying to stay connected.

  5. You are correct re model number. Locked? Yes.

Can't it be unlocked in Thailand?

If you want to unlock your AT&T phone, I would recommend checking out SamMobile They're one of the trusted sites around for all Samsung phones. I personally, have never used their unlock service (I've used other service for unlocking iPhone). If you are not sure about something, just contact them. I'm sure they will be able to explain the steps a whole lot better than most of us here could.

  6. I use Google maps occasionally as well as Locus and Sygic (more often) I however have GPS turned on as well as A-GPS and reporting and I can't say G maps draining battery faster than the other apps.

I got you. All I'm saying is that the reporting background can very well be the solution. The first few days I got my S4, maps was usually the app that drained my battery the most (Top 3 most of the time). I did some research from XDA to other Android forums, I must say, it should be the first thing OP should try.

  7. Obvoiusly having data turned on will drain the battery faster.

If I understand OP right, he has battery drainage issues when actually running the Maps app, regardless of the background reporting. So no drainage issues when not running maps? Sure location reporting can be turned off, there's not many benefits for the user having it on, but it doesn't seem to be the issue.

You're right, having the data on does brain your battery, that's a given. What drains it even faster is sending and receiving data constantly in the background.

He didn't state clearly whether he has the Maps running or not. But I assumed that it's the reporting problem simply because all it takes is just to open the app once and it can be running draining the battery like no other.

  8. It doesn't explain why the battery drains faster with maps running

Using data drains your battery. With location reporting on, the app is constantly using data to report back to Google.

Maps used to be the app that drained my battery the most. So, from experience, yes, location reporting is somewhat an important factor for Maps draining the battery.

You need to change your APN settings I believe. My GF has the S3 and when she upgraded to the new frequency, she had to update the APN in the settings. Do a quick Google search and type in APN AIS Android, and you should find all the required steps to get your 3G going again.

  10. Thanks for that.I don't use GPS,so i have turned it off,but maps is still draining 40% of my battery.

The problem is that map is constantly reporting your location in the background. What you need to do is go into settings in the Maps app and go in the "Google location settings" and turn off the location reporting. That should help with the app draining your battery.

  11. I've been using a purifier connecting the kitchen's tap and for many years now and I can say I haven't gotten sick or anything from it. It's safe if you are going with a purifier, but make sure you are using a decent purifier though, just for good measures.
