It is easy to jump on these guys for their actions and it sounds is if it were inappropriate at the time. However you did read about the Russian tourist who drown in Phuket recently right?

He was told not to swim in the area as there were strong currents. They told him repeatedly as he retorted, "I am strong, I can swim, no problem" and then proceeded to die. What sort of press was that and how were these, "punks" treated for not keeping him out of the water?

I am not sure how much exposure you have had to Russian Tourists but they can be pretty belligerent, disrespectful, and outright stupid at times.

In your Farang countries you would probably say "case closed = good police job".

I dont think Farang are considering themselves Gods. It is more like fear of being treated like rats.

We have had cases in our Farang countries where we get "case closed" but some of those cases get re-opened due to new information. Mistakes get made and we have seen it. That is why people want to discuss these issues so justice can be served.

I was hoping this would be a nice easy and shut case. Why do we need more speculation on this case.

A couple of things I would like to know:

1) Who is Iris? Can we find out some about Iris and what she has to say?

2) His tongue - was it sticking out when he was found dead? Most people who die by hanging will have their tongue sticking out.

3) Friends - what are his friends saying about this happening?

4) How did he perform this act of suicide after a full night of partying?

5) Who was he hanging out with before his death and what was he talking about?

I am not sure if it is the translation, but "believe" to die by asphyxiation sounds weak. How do they not KNOW?

I should gree with another member in how egoistic and ludicrous does this Thai chairwoman sound:

How about applying the following changes,in order to get any tourists back (not only Russians:

1) Have a one solid exchange rate for $100,$50,$20... bills , not cheating;

2) Have the same fee for Thais and foreigners to attend any National Parks, Museums,.. etc;

3) Allow foreigners to own some properties (land ,house.. etc) legally:

4) Have more flexible retirement laws ;

5) Allow foreigners to own businesses legally, on it's own ;

6) Your choice ...

I dont really see how 6) is an option. Tee hee hee.

Also are you not afraid of that it would mean for foreigners to have this much control here? If they make it really easy for all of these things, Thailand would be taken over financially would it not?

I like the actions they are taking. I think they are visible and they are showing they are going to be vigilant during this holiday season.

In a lot of our home countries the police have overstepped their boundaries in my opinion. It is nice to not feel like we live in a police state here. Careful what we ask for.

Facing a big storm anything can happens that will disable or destroy any airplane not given time for even a SOS......Remains will be found...answers will take some time. Very sad anyway.

You obviously have no idea how big an airplane is. Or that it has 4 tracking devices embedded within it. We have this thing called technology these days that makes the size of the ocean relatively insignificant.

Yeah, this usually brings out the 'tin-foil hat' crowd. But the fact is, although air transportation is probably safer than any other mode of travel, mechanical malfunctions do happen. Prays to those on-board.

Well air travel is meant to be one of the safest modes of transportation. Beyond that they have black boxes that are nearly indestructible which should be able to tell us what happened and where the plane is located. You dont have to have a tin foil hat to know this.

I imagine you will be happy with whatever the news tells you happened.

Their semen was found in the victim. How would this be playing devil's advocate? What I am not playing is conspiracy theories based on things people don;t know because we are not part of the investigation or has ALL the evidence been presented in trial or has the police and autopsy report been made public or has the defense been able to put on their case.

A number of damning evidence has been mentioned to date against these two with the biggest being their semen matching the two semen samples identified and collected from the victim. The only way this could not be true is if the police are lying to the press about the match which would come out in trial or there is a vast conspiracy by many people and entities to set these two up.

No devil's advocate, just reality. Nothing to suggest this crime was motivated by money except rich people exist and no reason to believe a kid the cops confirmed was in Bangkok at the time had anything to do with this unless of course their is another vast conspiracy by numerous other people to say he was in Bangkok when he wasn't.

Devils advocate would be suggesting a well-off island family can control the entire justice system in Thailand as well as labs and universities all the way up to the PM ... and of course do this for unknown reasons as there is no evidence to suggest they were involved and regardless if crime committed by Thai or immigrant workers doesn't make Thailand look and better or worse.
