I have never heard of any other consulate or embassy asking for proof of how you arrived in the country of application and I can't see the logic of it.

I would think some people wont be able to provide any copy of the trip to Vietnam especially if for example they have travelled overland from neighbouring Cambodia. I also noticed nothing is mentioned on the consulate website about this requirement.

so now they have three requirements at Ho Chi Minh City

    1. copy of your booking into Vietnam

    2. copy of your booking back into Thailand

3.copy of your booking out of Thailand

has anyone else other than the original poster been asked to provide a copy of an a ticket into Vietnam?

Never. Done it 5 times. Love Vietnam.

  2. Hi,

I currently hold a non-O visa that was extended based on employment. It is valid until Jan 2015. I want to resign from work, but then it will no longer be valid. Is there a way that I can do an extension based on marriage even though it is still stamped as valid in my passport? In other words, it's not due for renewal, but if I can use marriage to extend then I wouldn't be here illegally anymore because im not working. Or can I change what the current extension is based on? so that it will be based on marriage and not employment.

    thanks

  3. I know I've beaten this topic to death, but HR at my work just doesn't get it!! They are claiming that they are going to go to immigration and switch my visa from a Non-O to a Non-B. Can this even be done at immigration? And then they said they needed to leave my passport at immigration "until its ready", but wouldn't I at least get a 30 day under consideration stamp? Considering that I expire on the 21st, the political happenings, I don't think it is smart to leave my passport anywhere....and I've known from the past that they will give a 30 day under consideration, and usually never keep the passports correct?

  4. "So I went to Phuket Immigration office in Phuket Town today and they were unfriendly as usual."

Interpretation smile.png....................... I did not get what I wanted because I did not qualify therefore I will bad mouth "immigration" !

The advise given was clear " To get one based upon a Thai child you will need their birth certificate, house book and proof of legal parenthood by way of marriage or legitimization."

Some clearly enjoy digging holes for themselves !clap2.gif

    Edit

    format+spelling

You clearly have nothing better to do with your life then to pick apart posts on Thai Visa. I said they were unfriendly as usual not because I didn't get what I wanted but because they were UNFRIENDLY AND RUDE to everyone there. That is there way.

  5. So I went to Phuket Immigration office in Phuket Town today and they were unfriendly as usual. They told me that I needed to have a "legitimization of Child" which could only be issued by the family court. Why would I need this if I have his birth certificate, thai and American passport?? Is this correct? They would not even entertain extending my non-o based on thai child without this paper. They instructed me to go to the Amphur to get it, when I went there they told me I needed to go to court to get an order giving the AMphur permission to do it....does this sound right???

If I want to just extend my Non-O based on employment, does anyone have a list of the required docs? My employer does not know what docs are needed....I assume the same type of docs to extend a non-b based on employment??

    Please help!

  6. Hi all,

I have a Non-O visa based on my thai son, and I also have a work permit. I now need to extend the Non-O visa based on employment, is it possible? What paperwork do I need for immigration?

My employer told me that I need to fill out application for visa and application for visa change...but this doesn't sound right to me....I'm surely able to keep my Non-O visa and extend it based on my employment, correct?

    Please advise!

    Thanks!

  7. I just heard that most of the language schools in patong have been blacklisted for pupil non-attendance, is this true?

If it is true, what would happen to the status of people that are on Ed visas with a school that was blacklisted? Would they consider it an overstay or just not renew at the end of the visa period?

This blanket blacklist could effect the students who actually attend.

    Let's hear what you've heard...
