  1. Well done to the OP for stopping and helping and doing what he could to assists the victim. it was all going well till

" I flashed my retired police badge and stopped traffic so ambulance could get to victim "

    <deleted>!!!! :o

Just what is a " Retired police badge " when its at home ? I presume it isn't a Thai police badge so just what did the OP think people would do when seeing it ?

    :sorry:

    Reality check !

YOU ARE NO LONGER A COPPER!

    YOU ARE FARANG !

Maybe they should issue the ex SAS, SBS, delta force, CIA with these cards so we can verify the guys who tell us they are EX

Didn't want go go there as I figured my critical and necessary constructive criticism would be contentious enough and I was right, you've got brass my man..

He knows the art of writing, to engage the listener!

  2. Despite the doom and gloom, there is a strong likelihood the girls will receive some help. Strong clues are the fact that the tip off came from the Paveena Hongsakul Foundation and the involvement of the special human trafficing taskforce from the Children, Juvenile and Women's Division (CWD),

The task force doesn't screw around. They take their jobs seriously and have not been implicated in any significant wrongdoing, The task force has a good professional relationship with the groups that help people like these girls.

I believe Mrs. Paveena Hongsakil is a Bangkok MP of and general secretary of the Chart Pattana Party. She is a trained social worker and has a pretty good reputation. Back in 2006, the Nation said she was voted the female politicain with the best moral image. (The same poll said PM Abhisit was the politician with the best moral image.) Anyway, this woman is one heavy duty hitter and if her foundation is involved, you can be assured something will happen. For you trivia lovers she's chairwoman of Thailand's Fire & Rescue Association. (What woman doesn't like a fireman? B) )

Have some faith. Not every Thai public official is corrupt. Some really do have a heart and do care about people.

Well said, and a sense of comfort to know there is at least 1 reliable significant leader to police the corruption....

  3. Pathetic politicians; the inocent must suffer- lose their school, just because of the actions of a few.

To close a building, any building because of an incident no matter how bad, is unreasonable.

That is no solution, just avoiding a problem, that will move to another location.

More importantly, why punish the students that are happy and productive there?

  4. When I came here, marriage visa was all I could get to live here. Thai wife took me for millions. I didn't know farang couldn't own houses.... Having my last name, I thought it was mine- wrong!

Don't be so quick to criticize us shmucks, needing a marriage visa to live here.

Don't waste your time in court, just like another said, "farangs always lose in court"....

  5. As a farang; I see a huge culture difference in driving- it is called courtesy! Thai people can't understand the word or meaning of it.

Proof; why every intersection, thai person "must" get in front of person already there? Rude; another word Thai people don't accept or understand!

End result- this type of accident....

If I am wrong; explain why you must get in front of a person; what makes you so much more important than the person already there?
