  1. Dear All,

My question is about work permit for a foreigner who married a Thai wife. my foreign friend has a business in Thailand. The company has 4 mil baht capital, so they hire 2 foreigners (no Thai wife), with 8 Thai staff rules. Now they want to add one more foreigner who married a Thai lady (not mesmile.png ). The question is how much capital the company has to have and how many Thai staff they should have. total of 5 million baht and 10 thai staff, or 6 million baht and 12 Thai staff?

I am also curious that if the foreign owner of the company married a Thai, the rule about 1 million baht capital with 2 Thai staff should apply to this company in general or not. For example if this company hires another foreigner (with no Thai wife), should they add 1 more mil baht and 2 staff?

Also in practice, the capital doesn't have to be paid up, right?

I check about the labour regulations but it doesn't clear to me in details. If any one can help me, I will appreciate. Thank you.

  2. Hi, I would like to go North in December, travelling like a backpacker. I am thinking of Phu Lue (Loei Province) or to go Pai (Mae Hong Son).

There will be about 3-4 days. No plan set yet where and when exactly. Anyone interested to go with me (female or male) then we can talk and set a schedule. Each of us will pay their own cost.

I am Thai, female, single, office worker in Bangkok. I need a vacation from work, maybe just to find a place to read novels and freind(s) to talk.

  3. My late husband, an American, was cremated here in Thailand, as that was his wish. When he died I had to deal with police on autopsy issue and I informed the Amphur that I and my family would cremate his body at the local temple. I informed the Embassy as well. The embassy asked how would I do with his ashes and I said I would keep most of them and send some to his relatives in America. His sister is ok since she knew his plan well. My late husband did say he prefered to have some coke liquid on his body instead of the typical coconut juice that Thais usually use. The villagers were smiling at our special way, but that was done as he wished.

  4. Hi I am Thai and I would like to add in some opinions,

Some of Thai Ladies have temper and being chidish, I think maybe more than Western women have. But not all of them are like that. I myself don't act like that. When I had an arguement with my husband, I talked and argued. I may show my emotion of getting mad, but I don't scream. If the arguement didn't end at that time, we both wait a while to calm down and we talked again. Many times I waited for my husband to come to me first, and many times I said "sorry" to him first too. Our married life had been happy because we did agree that if we argue, we make it finish before the night end. No carry over to next day, deal with it. That's me.

So please don't think we Thai ladies are alike for all. You problably get a spoiled Thai lady and that is your choice, right. I don't think the lady will change, considering she is 32 now. But I won't know because I don't you and her to be able to give advice.
