Can I apply for a non O visa while visa free (first 30 days) or do I have to wait and pay for a 30 day extension before applying?
Unless things have changed, you need to leave the country, in order to obtain the non-O.
You can EXTEND in-country, one time.

There most often IS another side!
Perhaps Thai would care to give ITS version!

Perhaps a wiser move would be to stop handing out assistance to those who are flocking to the shores of the cornucopia of endless benefits known as the UK, for which they've contributed nothing to nor in the greater majority of them will contribute nothing to whilst they lay in free leeching comfort in the UK. The state sponsored theft of pension payments to some 550,000 ex- pat pensioners payment is indeed a disgusting and paltry act, penalizing those who have paid in full. Look after your own first please
The clue is in your use of the adjective 'wiser' ... it implies wisdom came into the equation, in the FIRST place!
Something that most certainly was NOT involved!

Utter BS by dumb authorities - again. What about returning Thais who travelled abroad? Not a day goes by without some brainless idiots trying to find something to target foreigners.
Oh, they aren't brainless.
They just need to remember to stand up, from time to time ... in order to let the air circulate.

A few monkeys came onto the beach, presumably on the lookout for food,
when 3 beach vendors armed with slingshots started firing at them!!
I was mortified,
so were the rest of the customers.
What gives them the right to behave in this manner?
surely there is a law against such barbaric behavior?
How can they be so cruel toward animals?
This happened at a well known tourist location in a secluded part of the beach.
it has completely ruined my afternoon.
would they do the same to cats?
I kinda doubt it.
bob.
Don't give them your business. If others also refuse to give them their business, they'll learn.
EVENTUALLY ... as vendors aren't GENERALLY noted for their ability to catch-on very quickly!

So over time I have had 3 blood tests all at the same Thai hospital ( different doctors )
1. Blood test was on 12th December 2022 ( A )
2. Blood test was on 19th of September 2023 ( B )
3. Blood test was on 5th of March 2024 ( C )The first blood test done on 12th December 2022 ( A ) showed that I had high numbers in several areas , so the hospital doctor prescribed 20 mg of Atorvastatin , once a day and made a new blood test appointment for the 19th of September 2023 ( B ) .
The second Blood test was done on the 19th of September 2023 ( B ) , and the results from that blood test showed that my previous high numbers had now come down , due to me taking 20 mg of Atorvastatin , once a day . On seeing the reduced numbers in that blood test the hospital doctor said to me that I could stop taking the Atorvastatin if I wanted to , so I made the decision to completely stop taking the Atorvastatin. The hospital doctor then made a new appointment for a blood test for 5th of March 2024 ( C )
The Third blood test was recently done on the 5th of March 2024 ( C ) and the test results showed that my numbers had gone way back up. On seeing those blood test results the doctor prescribed 40 mg of Atorvastatin , once a day . And a new blood test appointment was made for the coming 28th of May 2024 .
The blood test results are shown as screen shots – A / B / C .
So it seems that I may have made a mistake by accepting the hospital doctors choice to stop taking the Atorvastatin on the 19th of September 2023 ( B ) when in reality I should have just continued to take the 20 mg of Atorvastatin on a daily basis .
During all the previous times I was taking the 20 mg of Atorvastatin I did not alter my diet or life style, but the doctor who looked at my recent blood test results on the 5th of March 2024 ( C ) did say that I should look at altering my diet .I’m 74 years old , Five feet Seven inches tall , my weight is 79.1 Kg , my blood pressure is 117 / 71 / 65 , a non smoker / non alcohol drinker . I am not really physically active . ( Lazy )So looking back at my past blood test results , there could now be a possibility that I may have to take the prescribed drug Atorvastatin for the rest of my life .
I’m now wondering if any one here has had a blood test done and the results showed a high level of LDL cholesterol , and if so did you rely on drugs to lower the high LDL cholesterol number or a combination of diet + drugs .
Any advice , suggestions or recommendations very welcome.
Thanks - Tom

'Right now, in every area in Phuket, the police are taking offences committed by tourists seriously. We want the people of Phuket to trust us.”'
The RTP MIGHT care to remember that it wasn't FORMED to address offences committed by foreign visitors!
So ... it needs to deal EQUALLY promptly with those committed by Thai nationals!
Which STATISTICALLY, are going to outnumber those committed by foreign visitors!

I have been on this Amlodipine blood pressure meds for about 10 days
Lately I have been feeling fatigued, tiredness lethargic etc
I'm thinking it's this
My BP before Amlodipine was 140/87
The dr said that's too high go on the Amlodipine
I went to the doctor told him I missed the gym the last 7 days
He suggested a blood test ,will know the results later ,he had no answer
Wouldn't blame it on Amlodipine
But I'm sleeping better just I have no energy
I'm pretty sure I was on Amlodipine.
I don't recall having an issue with it.
But I'm now on Norvasc.

Please help
does anyone know of any eyeglass shop around northern Pattaya area or Bang Lamung, Hospital or whatever, have wasted an enormous amount of time gong from one place to the other.
'Do you speak English? A little Bit..Clueless.
please help
Try an international hospital ... I'm pretty sure there's a Bangkok Hospital, in Chonburi.
Alternatively, a major shopping mall will quite likely have an optician/opthalmologist, with a sufficient grasp of English to help you.

Only by court order!
That is the present law!
Please remember you are getting stuck up with a draft bill, last discussed in December 1923 which in it's present form has no chance of getting thru the House of lords and has little or no chance of getting thru all it's stages before the General Election!
As I have said before "cool down" it ain't going to happen this year!
Well, if they last discussed it 100+ years ago ... it isn't going anywhere, in the coming decades.

I'll have a look for it but if you can use Google you should be able to find it for yourself.
There is.
As I have said previously, the government CAN'T - or WON'T - deal with the Channel-crossing freebie-seekers ... but it can manage to poke its collective nose into British nationals' bank accounts.

But I had a tumour removed in Chulalongkorn.
Excellent nursing. And the doctors DO know what they're about.

On January 19, 2024, people complained to the news that a guy, who nobody knows, used a knife and pretended to be a cop to force others into buying beer near Soi Najaomtien 20, Najaomtien Subdistrict, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. Ms. Urai Phorn, also called Ms. Bee and 21 years old, shared what happened.
She said that before this happened, she and three friends were chilling and having beers close to the Soi Najaomtien 20 football field after finishing work, reported Siam Rath.
According to Bee, she and three friends were unwinding with beers near a street corner in Na Jomtien 20, Nong Prue, Sattahip, Chonburi, after wrapping up work around 1:40 a.m. Foreigners approached them, expressing interest in purchasing beer. Bee offered to assist, but a Thai man on a motorcycle intervened, driving the foreigners away.
Shortly thereafter, the foreigners returned, and Bee volunteered to procure beer for them. The Thai man, who had parked nearby, signaled for the tourists to buy from him, setting the price at 200 Baht per bottle. After a brief exchange, the Thai man departed but returned ten minutes later. Bee asked if they still desired beer, offering to make the purchase. The tourists agreed, handing money to Bee as they waited for their drinks.
Unexpectedly, the Thai man reappeared, parked his motorcycle, and confronted the tourists again. Despite Bee's efforts to defuse the situation, the man produced a small knife, threatening the tourists. Startled, the tourists fled, with the Thai man in pursuit, resulting in a confrontation captured by surveillance cameras.
Bee has called for authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, expressing concerns about its potential impact on Pattaya's tourism reputation if such occurrences become recurring.

Hi….Can anyone recommend an Opthomologist. Prefer Pattaya but would be willing to travel to Bangkok.

Not per se ... but this is Thailand.
Go to a hospital ... either a recommended one, or the closest one, to where you're staying. Try Bangkok General ... there is a branch in Pattaya.
