  1. Some models of Toyota cars mentioned in that site including Fortuner 3.0 D4D AT (Diesel with Automatic transmission only) already included cruise control function in the ECU, but as everybody knows, Thai cars always cut options and set high price to top model. The price mentioned included Cruise Control stick, brake paddle switch and installation cost. He claimed that the parts are genuine.

  2. I just call Railway Call Center 1690, there will be an interesting one day trip to Sunflower field and Pasak Dam by Train on this Sat, Dec 1. Price: Fan 280 Baht, Air Con. 490 Baht per person. The press below may be old but schedule is the still the same.

  3. I think to use transformer for rice cooker is bad idea because rice cookers use high power 500-1500w. The step up transformer for this spec is difficult to find in Thailand, or if you can find, it will be very heavy and expensive.

The dual voltage rice cooker I found from internet are Philips HD4745 HD4746 HD4747, other models are 220v only. Can't find info about dual voltage for other brands.

  4. The problem with every fast food type operation here is the quality of the produce they secure locally.

For example, Tomatoes tasteless and beef mediocre. But thats what they have to work with.

That will be why they are not offering their premium burgers in Thai branches of Carl's Jr.

650thb for two non-premium combo meals is more expensive than Singapore branches so I will avoid.

I notice they also have Chuwit, recently sentenced to a five year jail term, giving them the thumbs up on their Facebook page, while the author is dribbling on about how nice a guy he is. Makes you wonder where they find these cretins.

Nothing to wonder, Chuwit is the owner of Davis hotel where carl jr located. Davis is his name when he was in the US long time ago.

  5. This one is nice, Vitamix ripoff, but the price is 10000 bht

I would definately buy this one, rather than vitamix, is buono thai brand? it sound like italian brand.

And how long is the quaranty. Vitamix offers like 10 years if I am not mistaken.

And do you need to order verasu products online or is there a shop somewhere? But this blender really looks almost exactly as vitamix

There are shops in Bangkok, Phuket and Verasu Corners in some department stores in Bangkok. I can say Verasu is No.1 in Thailland for his reliable and good services on kitchen appliances business.

  7. You remind me of this yummy dish, it used to be a simple food long time ago. I think I hadn't ate this for more than 10 years. Nowadays it's not very easy to find. This is the closest to Pattaya I found with google not original recipe, he stuffed chicken wing with crab meats, mushroom etc. look delicious, see photo on comment 15th.

Lung Song ลุงส่ง, located on the way to Wat Yannasang Wararam

Put this no. 12.802073270831, 100.94083576104 in google maps search box.

If you use thai keyword to search and found the address at Na Kruea, it was old location, it was moved few years ago.

  8. I'm guessing some of these dishes are Bangkokian, right? I seldom see them being cooked in Pattaya.

No, mostly breakfast dishes in this post are all around Thailand, I said about Tom Lued Moo in Pattaya Klang, it is very famous among Thais, not just pattaya residents but well known to Thai tourists.

Khao Tom, Jok, Patong Ko, they are easily found in most Thai local markets in the morning time.

Except Khai Kata (egg pan), only can be easily found as breakfast in Isaan especially around Ubon, but in other parts of Thailand including Bangkok, can be seen only in Vietnamese restaurant.

  9. Sorry, I am not sure of the name, but the lady who pushes the food cart past the office in the morning also sells a plastic bag full of a type of donut, completely round, sort of dark on the outside with an interesting tasting herb within. If any one knows the name of these - I would be interested to hear. They are very different from the Patong Kho in SBK's post.

I guess you mean ขนมไข่หงส์ "khanom khai hong" khanom = dessert, khai hong = swan's egg

They are fried sugar coated flour made from sticky rice flour and sweet potatoes stuffed with salty herbs and mashed green beans.

    kaihong5.jpg

There is another kind of Khanom that look like this, but smaller and just sweet fried bun, no stuffed inside called Khanom Khai Nok Krata ขนมไข่นกกระทา Khai Nok Krata = quail's egg

  10. Ahhhhh!

That feels nice after Sotsira's reply.

Maybe he should listen to his own signature at the bottom of his postlaugh.png

    Sometimes to keep it together,

we've got to leave it alone."rolleyes.gif

Chas, my reply was not meant to discredit your advice,

I still stand by what i said.

Second Hand & Market usually spells disaster.

Im very glad that Timekeeper found what he wanted even though i feel

600bt for two S/H remotes is a bit steep considering brand new ones cost the same

if not, even less than that.

600bt for two S/H remotes is a bit steep considering brand new ones cost the same

i would add to that statement, ''if you can get them new''

these were older DVD units and second hand was the only option

so thanks to Chas and the helpful guy in the market these old but good quality machines have been given a new lease of life....

I agree with you, if it is original and work good, the price is ok. The new original remote may cost much more and very hard to find. I can find with chinese copied TV remote online for about 100 baht, but it is for some popular model, and surely not available for DVD Pioneer and LG.

  11. You can try Kua Kling, the web page said they have both pork and beef at Pi Lek's Southern Style Rice and Curry at Pattaya 3Rd. open 10am-4pm. Closed Sat and Sun on 3rd and 4th week of every month

    http://restaurant.pattaya.com/TH/MagazineContent.aspx?id=113
